Like may of you, I filled in the form, had the initial problems , but got a confirmation email saying refund will be processed etc etc. I gave Ryanair the benefit of the doubt .... I need to be patient ( sure... they have a lot of requests  to deal with)
HOWEVER when they sent me an email about vouchers I ignored it and went straight to my bank. Chargeback took about 3 weeks in total...but at least now my dealings with Ryanair are done!
    Please consider chargeback
Was it difficult to do? Iv just had the same e mail, except as i paid on credit card i have 2 use section 75 dont i?
No you can use charge back as I did with Avis for £135. The bank is likely to look at more sympatheticly as they are getting the money from the other bank.

See my post on the page two previous to this. I have received a full refund.
I believe it was you I thanked many many weeks ago as your advice enabled me to successfully apply online for the refund after hours of struggling with the website. I shared your scepticism that I would actually receive the refund but patience paid off.
Ironically I have received a 2nd refund from Barclaycard! Four days after the direct refund from Ryanair. As tempting as it was to keep quiet, I have reported this to Barclaycard.

I’m really confused as to why I have been refunded when it seems nobody else has, especially as Ryanair are saying they can’t process refunds during the crisis - they clearly can. I was assuming it was because of my dispute through Barclaycard and they had been in contact with Ryanair but why then did I receive the 2nd refund from Barclaycard? I don’t understand it but am certainly not complaining.
I wish everyone the best of luck with getting their money back

Thanks - yes, I did see that, but not the success update - well done! I think you spoke to RA, which I can't be bothered with as I have their confirmation of receipt of request for refund, so maybe you have just been more polite - and perhaps a bit lucky. It will be interesting to see if the same happens for me, but I very much doubt it as I haven't done exactly what I have been told by RA!

Crikey, I rang and rejected the voucher and was told I was in a queue and might wait 12 months. Not heard anything since.
Still waiting in M&S re a chargeback and they've said due to numbers it will take longer than usual.
  • I booked flights to Malta for my husband and I to fly out from Bristol on 13th March. At the boarding gate we were informed that Malta had gone into complete lockdown and we would have to quarantine for 14 days( only going for 5 days). Due to work(key worker) we couldn’t go. Ryanair gave us until 30th march to rebook which was impossible. I don’t mind a voucher but two and a half months of trying to talk to someone I am exasperated. Anyone have any ideas? I don’t have the time off to spend on the phone.

M&S Banking is part of HSBC. It will be HSBC policy to follow...

Don't entirely know the legalities of this or what exactly was the situation re inability to fly or who 'advised' don't go as you will be stuck for 14 days with (presumably) a no show for the booked return flight 5 days later as well. But if RA didn't cancel the flight, I suspect that it will need to be an insurance claim ... or perhaps clearer legal advice?
