Ryanair refund thread

My outbound flight to Barcelona in July was cancelled with the option to rebook, voucher or refund. I opted for refund. Today I got an email from Ryanair. I thought it would be the voucher as has been happening. But it states that I can change the flight to any destination.
"Moving your flight is very easy, there are no change fees, you don’t have to pay the fare difference and you can travel to any destination on our network."
But why I try to reschedule:
1. I can not change the destination
2. When I try to book the same destination for different dates, it is charging about £400 extra for three of us.
Has anybody else had this happened to them?
I presume the best thing would be to wait for the refund after refusing their vouchers when they appear.
Thanks.I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
I know I’m not alone - Ryanair cancelled my flights in March - I have completed a dispute form required by my credit card company (as Ryanair have only offered a voucher and not the refund requested) but as I paid in instalments through Love Holidays M & S are now saying a I need to submit a breakdown supplied by Love Holidays of the payments I have made to show how much Ryanair have received. My email from Ryanair states I am entitled to a refund of £333.96. Trying to contact Love Holidays is impossible as they no longer take Phone calls, only online agents are available. Try getting one of these. M & S have given me until beginning of June to get this info for them. Can anyone help me please?0

Just to follow up on my situation. I had also been through a few hoops but all I ended up with was an email from Ryanair with a link for travel vouchers.
I'd paid for the flight using Paypal so I thought it would be easier to open up a new case. I did that and essentially after submitting my details and copy of ticket email Paypal issued a date about 2 weeks into the future by when Ryanair needed to respond.
Interestingly they didn't respond and so the case closed in my favour. Refund in full.2 -

Are you trying to claim from your insurer for your moved bookings?
Ryanair wouldn't allow me to do anything prior to the flight taking off.
I'm not expecting to travel in November yet. I would prefer to cancel the bookings and book again if and when things recover enough to travel again. I moved them to avoid getting ''a not turned up''. It's a trip I've paid for and insured that I couldn't use.
The only refund I've had is off Barcelona Football club due to the rearranged game being behind closed doors.0 -
Just had an email from Ryanair confirming they have processed my refund and it will take my bank 5-7 working days to process it back to my account. It may well be another lie and I will believe it when I see it but this does suggest they can in fact process refunds during the Covid crisis, contrary to what they have told many on here.My timeline of events:
17.3.20 - Email received, flight cancelled18.3.20 - Applied for refund online (after hours of battling with the website)
20.4.20 - Voucher received by email
20.4.20 - Spoke to Ryanair on the phone. They agreed to cancel the voucher and add me to the refund queue
28.4.20 - Received an email reminding me to use my voucher
4.5.20 - Spoke to Barclaycard to request a Chargeback. Informed I needed to make a section 75 claim (I think as more than 6 months since booking they couldn’t do chargeback but not entirely sure on this)
13.5.20 - Posted section 75 forms and required evidence (emails, booking confirmation) back to Barclaycard by registered post
28.5.20 - email confirming Ryanair has processed my refund.
I have no idea if Barclaycard have been in contact with Ryanair and this is what's brought about this apparent refund or if there is no connection.Has anyone else had this email? Has anyone actually received a refund?
Update 30.5.20
I’ve received a full refund from Ryanair!3 -
i applied for my refund on the ryanair website after they cancelled my flight.
this was accepted
then sent an email saying i'm getting a voucher.
tried to tell them i did not want this but have not been able to get in touch with them.
are they now taking phone calls?
i tried on the live chat but it was hopeless.0 -
I got through on the phone pretty quickly on 20.4.20 but I know other posters have struggled to get through. I gave up on the live chat but others have got through that way. I would try the phone, first thing in the morning. Good luck

Logged in today to see what flights were cancelled and what flights weren't. However it is now showing no bookings on my dashboard. I assume they are updating something. Yesterday all 4 flights were there. Today nothing.0
