Saigongal said:After a conversation with customer service yesterday I am still waiting for an email to confirm the refund. I did in the meantime have a text from Ryanair telling me to check my emails, so I did and I got the 'new' cancellation email with another link. Not sure whether to follow it or whether to trust my conversation yesterday! I will wait for the 24 hours to be up and if there is no email I will follow the new link! It just shouldn't be this difficult or worrying, but (as one always making excuses for poor service) it must be an incredibly difficult time for them as they are bombarded with requests of all sorts - that doesn't excuse their poor web site/links etc. i know, but I feel sorry for the actual staff working for Ryanair at this time.0

Thanks for the advice to try from 3-5am. I'd experienced all the difficulties described on here but as I'm up and down in the night a lot anyway, I took my phone to bed and when I woke up at 3.45am, pressed the "Submit" button and it worked! I've taken a photo of the confirmation screen just in case. Now I just have to wait for another 4 flights to and from Italy and Germany to be cancelled and start all over again!0

I’m having the same problem. It keeps saying invalid reference and there’s no hope of getting through on the phone0

I've succeeded al last, and maybe my experience will be helpful.
I've made two attempts last night: 1:40-3:00 am and 5:20-6:00 am.
I've got confirmation at 5:55, and it contained Date & Time label 20/03/2020 02:40. So one may conclude that the application was been taken at 2:40, and confirmation followed at 5:55. So if you tried plenty times and still don't have the answer, it means nothin: maybe your application is taken.
I used two browsers simultaneously: Safari and Firefox, on MacBook. I think it doesn't matter. It was pure torture.
So - good luck!0 -
ian7086 said:Hi. So yesterday I received the mail to say my flights for this Sunday had been cancelled. Selected the refund option and had the same issues with reservation number not recognised. Tried a dozen times since still no luck. Can anyone confirm that after selecting the refund link in the mail the Ryanair Login page opens and after logging in your cancelled flights are shown in red along with another refund link. When this refund link is selected I get the Ryanair home page and the only thing I can see to do from here is select help and get to the refund form from here.
I have this minute received a mail telling me check in is now open for my flight to Malaga this Sunday. What the hell are these clowns playing at. Surely there is no way they can be flying to Malaga on Sunday. What should work (do keep trying - they are inundated) is to log in > click on bookings > DON'T click on 'get refund' at this stage as it takes you to the home page in error > click in the cancelled flight box area > THEN click on 'get refund' fill in details and click continue > clicking 'here' should take you to the refund request form - if not keep trying. Fill it in carefully - it may take tens if not a hundred attempts to get past the various error messages. This is pure system overload so persevere. Overnight seems to work quicker for some. Once accepted you will get a receipt (NOT a definite offer) of application for refund. Suggest printing this! Not everyone seems to get an email as well at this stage - I didn't.[NB I would be interested to learn if anyone DID get an email via this route only - NOT by phone - which seems to be different and would otherwise have nothing in writing to confirm]Re your trip on Sun - RA have stated on their webpage notices that they will be grounding most if not all their fleet from midnight on 24/03, so yes RA will continue to leave everything open until they are forced to cancel - probably at the last minute. If you try to book now, I think you may find an odd flight out and back - but nothing after 24/03 until May (at the moment). So they will have to offer a refund eventually. Presently it might be more about cashflow. This is exactly what happened to me. My out flight (17/03) was cancelled online the night before the flight, but not by SMS/email until 07.00 the morning of the flight! The return flight (03/04) was only cancelled this morning (20/03) on my bookings page. I have had no formal notification of such yet though.Hope this helps a little.2 -
I ended up getting through to Ryanair on the phone as the online form would not work and they have processed my refund but informed me it would take up to 28 days to go back into my account0

Same issue here. Just checked this morning and my return flight from Amsterdam was cancelled, but my outbound flights has not been cancelled. I hope they do not expect me 'to travel' with the return flight being cancelled. Same phrase " RESERVATION NUMBER IS INVALID" although I am literally copy pasting it. I have the impression that the cancellation form is invalid. WE might need to wait because calls, chats and emails are not being answered.
