Dacia Service Query
Hi All
I have a 2019 Dacia Duster and its just had its first service at the dealer garage. The service interval is 12months or 18k miles (whichever sooner) - its a 1.3 petrol engine. I was surprised at the low cost of the service considering its the cars first one, but even more surprised that the oil isn't changed on an 'A' service.... have things moved on as I would 100% expect the oil to be changed on a cars first service...??

You would want your oil changing. Everything else will just be checks. They won't bother with half of those at least. You've probably just paid for the stamp.-1

What does the service schedule state needs doing? I would always change oil every year.

Mileage on car is 13k. Looking at the works, the oil has been drained, new oil filter and sump plug fitted, but no oil added (has a 'n/a' in amount of oil) - looks like same oil has been put back in, so maybe the oil lasts much longer that I recall in the olden days? Oil is still dark treacle colour so definately hasn't been changed....0

Are you sure about that? Sounds preposterous. Oil that’s been used for 13k miles will be black not dark treacle. I would say it’s more likely that new oil is in your car engine.0

Sounds very odd.0 -
A garage not servicing a car properly? Never. That's unheard of.0

I cannot imagine any garage going to the trouble of draining an engine and changing the oil filter and then re-filling with old oil , does not make sense1

first thing to do is ring the dealer and ask the question. second thing I would do is see what the service schedule involves for a 1st service. you can find that in your ohb. (owners hand book). other than that google it.0
