  • Ok so hopefully someone can help shed light as to whether i've got things wrong or whether Tonik is wrong.

I log in to my online portal and i can only see a limited number of bills. They've condensed a load of bills in to one for starters.

    The first one:
As you can see - they say i didn't pay in March 2020 and this is actually correct.

    Next bill...
Ok so no problems there. They say i paid in September (ok i know i said earlier that they claimed i hadn't but this was an error on my part).

    Then for the next bill.

So apparently I've made no payment to them in October??
I'm sure you don't need a screenshot of my bank statement to trust that I actually have. Yes I've double checked.

And on for the final bill...
So apparently i have a £24.13 'offset' payment. I have checked my bank account and the very final payment to Tonik was at the start of October for £80.05.

I don't really know what their estimates are about because for the majority of the year their website was down and i would send them my meter readings religiously on the 1st of each month via Twitter.
But whatever, i just rolled with their estimates.

The way i read it is they're saying i didn't pay in October, yet I have.
And this offset payment is a strange one to me.

@JustAnotherSaver - I've deleted my reply, as I've confused myself & will review in the morning, but having compared my bills to your bills - I now might have issues myself.. yes the billing went so awry from July...
  • No problem. Hopefully my own confusion may have brought something positive to you, even if it's in the long run :D

I've no idea why they couldn't just use my submitted readings but then i've no idea what they were so we'll just have to go with the estimates.
I also don't know why they couldn't just bill from a date in the month to a date in the next month and leave it at that rather than scattering it all over.

But all of that is mostly irrelevant really as it doesn't get away from the fact that i paid in October, yet they say i have not.
  • I can’t understand mine either I’m particularly unsure of the offset payment

28th September they took my direct debit.  Nothing on 28th October.
I've had to go back all the way to the beginning of the year and check all the maths add up, as there's no regular bill period, the bills vary in length between 3 months and 1 day, so I think they made a lot of corrections during their billing issues.

@JustAnotherSaver - I only ever looked at my final bill - so thanks for putting a spanner in the works - ha ha!!  Looking back from Jan, despite my payment history in Tonik showing all my monthly DD payments - this is not reflected in my Jan/Feb bills nor has been taken into account when doing the maths.  I have an offset amount in that epic July bill - Payment on 24 August 2020 (Offset Bill xxx) - £236.60 Credit - this does not tot up to any of my DDs or is even a few pounds adrift based on interest reward?!!  So only my July, August & final bill show any payments in 2020.  So @JustAnotherSaver your bills are only showing payment in Aug with the offset amount (what payment calculation?) in your final bill.  Since it's been flawed from the outset - it kinda makes the final bill invalid.
So I'm going to contact Tonik admin too - yet they are only responsible for the final bill?
@nyermen - so did you agree with the final outcome?

@Annieddiva  - I've still yet to receive the final bill :(. And it appears SP are blocking my moving away as well until then.

@nyermen - oh no!  Get an email to SP CEO (it's between 8-10 days to hear back) Keith.s.anderson@scottishpower.com - I asked them to get a SP rep on here, think it's fallen on deaf ears....
OMG - my SP account is now showing the current Tonik credit balance & which I am now in dispute over....
I'm also going to write to the CEO of Ofgem -
    Jonathan.Brearley@ofgem.gov.uk

  • How do you guys find the CEO of companies and then their contact?

I've emailed Tonik asking for clarity as their previous email required more effort.

Whatever the weather, they're not getting a coin from me until I'm happy. If we go to court then we go to court. I've the evidence to show that I'm trying to resolve this and that they're being vague.
