Whoop whoop - as Outfox have 21 days switch which complies with SP 3 Dec going live with another supplier - I've signed up today & my account has both meter numbers recorded, with comment - Good news - your switch has begun!  Here's to it going smoothly now like malchester, & just had an email from Outfox confirming my starting date with them is 4 Dec - so no way on earth can SP block this - hooray!!!

  • My Scottishpower email says "Your start date with ScottishPower: 10th October 2020" I cant seem to sign into the website yet but i guess im free to jump ship?

It seems mad to put us on a poor tarriff and expect us to stay around.
  • I've had from my email to CEO:

  • on a separate note, can you set up a subscription to a thread? for the life of me I can't find how you do on this forum?
  • @LiGhTfasT - you can switch 28 days after having SP updated as your supplier on the national database, there's a link on here for gas in earlier post, for elec you need to call your network operator.  Although SP are advising to await your Welcome Pack which no has received yet - but this means they can't actually stop you switching due 28 day industry standard practice...

@funkyfin2000 - on 10 Nov I was told 10 working days to hear back from CEO office - I asked for all Tonik customers to be updated about leaving....  To subscribe - bookmark this thread towards top left of this page, and then to review it -it's the bookmark tab next to your profile circle - top right...

    Perfect... thanks.
In that first post, are you saying, if the gas record says you are already switched to SP then you can move (same with electric if I ring them and check) - I'm just worried about this £142 balance with Tonik and presumably I'll have an interim bill from SP as well which I don't know when it started etc. I did take pics of my meter though the day Tonik went bust.
  • @funkyfin2000 - you can change your energy provider every 28 days from when you're updated on national database.  So I was switched on 5 Nov, meaning as long as my new supplier goes live from 3 Dec - SP can't stop me.  Anything before this date I would have needed SP agreement & I didn't have time to wait to hear back from CEO office - so I go live with my new supplier from 4 Dec.
Tonik Energy advised me we should have our credits from SP in 4 weeks from Tonik final bill.  SP put us on a special ‘deemed’ contract (this means a contract you haven’t chosen). This contract will last for as long as you want it to.
    Here's the Ofgem FAQs - https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/consumers/household-gas-and-electricity-guide/extra-help-energy-services/ofgem-safety-net-if-your-energy-supplier-goes-out-business
So I'm in credit with Tonik too, but am more concerned about securing a good deal before they get withdrawn...SP started from 10 Oct, so post the readings we first gave SP which was used for my final Tonik bill....

yeah waiting on them to respond at the moment, 2 days on..... were initially quick, now gone dark!
  • @funkyfin2000 - I'd message them again then to be on the safe side in case it slipped through the net - I do hope they've been told not to avoid former Tonik customers!!!
