Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 2

Hi everyone. It turns out that I'm not an afternoon person either.
Oh roundtuit, how I feel for you. That awful feeling when you just KNOW that you shouldn't be eating, you are full up with dinner anyway, the chocolate biscuits are filling your thoughts so surely just one won't hurt, only having had one it's simply not enough and you cram another two or three into your mouth, feel guilty and sick so have a bag of crisps as well. And possibly a honey sandwich, using up some stale bread so that not wasting food might make you feel a bit better.
I bet we've all been there.
Today's not over yet so I will report yesterday's food.
Br: 2slices of toast, 1 with marmite, 1 with marmalade.
L: Big salad with corned beef and cheese. (Good. tick.)
Large piece of mincemeat flapjack, bowlful of chocolate ice cream, hot x bun. (not so good. X)
S. I heard whimpering coming from a plastic box. On investigation found a solitary cheese scone, sobbing with loneliness. A passing pat of butter and I put the poor thing out of its misery.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi everyone and thank you for all the warm welcomes, I've missed you too
.
I am just popping on to write out what I have eaten today.
b - 3 crumpets with flora light and marmite
l - spicy parsnip and lentil soup and 2 crusty rolls
d - sausages, potato salad and yet more salad
s - 2 hot cross buns, banana and an apple
2 o'clock slumpies - tiny twix bar and a rice krispie bar
It seems like a lot of food but I am very fortunate in that I have lots of calories to play with. I did have lots of fruit and veg but I also had lots of carbs. I feel like it was a positive start to my diet anyway. I shall be good again tomorrow but I am having Saturday off as it's my birthday. My son has promised to make me a birthday cake and I looooove cake, especially home made. I am planning to get back on the wagon for Easter Sunday and beyond though as I haven't got any chocolate eggs to eat as they have mysteriously disappeared.
Monna, I proper sniggered when I read about your lonely scone, it was a real kindness to put it out of it's misery

Good evening everyone
Welcome back, dumpling! 👋 I hope you’ll enjoy your birthday and lovely cake.
roundtuit last quarter, when I found I was getting hungry in the evenings but didn’t want to let myself have a late snack, I started having a starter course before my dinner, just a small (7oz) portion of homemade soup (totally fat free, and as low calorie as I can make it) or a simple tomato salad. It worked for me.
CRANKY commiserations on your friend (‘s sister-in-law), it’s a sad time at present.
A friend was kindly bringing me some bits of shopping this morning, so first thing I made her some chocolate muffins. The mixture made 8, so I have two for me. I had one with some tea this afternoon because it’s Junior Doggy’s birthday. This afternoon I potted some supermarket herbs, and some lily bulbs I bought earlier, and planted my tomato seeds. Last night the Canine Doggies found our garden hedgehog (luckily behind a fence). I was glad to see Hedgie looking good, and put a dish of water out for him on the ground.
Today’s nosh:
B : porridge
L : hard-boiled egg salad (mixed leaves, beetroot); apple with skyr
D : grilled sausages, green beans, celery and chard; cinnamon yogurt
S : hot-cross bun (no spread); hm chocolate muffin; one square of chocolate“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Morning xx
Thank you for all your support and tips / ideas. Yesterday I cooked tea later and ate an apple when I had the munchies whilst watching tv - it felt so good to be back on the wagonIt's watching tv that's dangerous for me. If I'm reading or surfing the net I don't get the evening munchies. I slept much better too, but I don't know if that was coincidental or cause and effect.
Oh, monnagran and dumpling - you have made me chuckle with your lonely scone and mysteriously disappearing Easter eggs.
Brambling - I didn't know that 'be kind to yourself' was the thread's rule. I am inclined to be far harder on myself than I would be on anyone else. I've started to try and step back and think: what would I say to a friend in this situation? (Certainly not some of the things that I say to myself!!!)

Well done roundtuit.
I was up early this morning to make another batch of cheese scones for my friends birthday. I am about to pack them up to dump them on her doorstep.
They are still warm and golden, sitting on the cooling rack.
AAAARGH!
Pray for me.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning All
well so much for keeping myself busy, my Mum said she would drop a couple of eggs of for the dc for Easter as she was off to do a bit of shopping (she's going to leave them on my doorstep and ring the bell (like an oap version on knock down ginger!) so I thought I'd make a lemon drizzle cake for her in return, well it appears, quite by accident I have made an extra one for us, and to top it all I inhaled a hot cross bun whilst baking??I feel there is no hope for me.
Monnagran, I applaud your selfless act of putting that suffering scone out of its misery, very noble x'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

Today I'm having
B / L porridge with a pinch of sugar
D - gammon and veg and cauliflower with cheese sauce. The others will have a jacket potato too. Pudding is a hot cross bun, with butter... best to be honest!
S - apple
I can't seem to get going today!! Ah well, I've not got much to do anyway so no matter.
Have a good day everyone, well done for getting back on it roundtuit. Little by little we all get there.A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
