I have just made a beeootiful date and walnut tray bake for the kind neighbour who has cut all the grass round the outside of my house. It is sitting on the cooling rack waiting for me to ice it with lemon icing.
Question: why do I do this to myself? Why don't I just write a Thank You card?
Anyway, I can't remember what I ate yesterday so I'll record what I've eaten today.
B: 1slice of toast with marmalade.
L: enormous salad and cheese omelette
. sugar free jelly and yoghurt.
NO SNACKS! Guess whose WI day is tomorrow.I believe that friends are quiet angels

roundtuit said:Brambling - I didn't know that 'be kind to yourself' was the thread's rule. I am inclined to be far harder on myself than I would be on anyone else. I've started to try and step back and think: what would I say to a friend in this situation? (Certainly not some of the things that I say to myself!!!)
Great start jules 👏👏 and you've got a new stone marker as well
Monna stop talking cheese scones 😋 I've checked out the kitchen and I have all the ingredients I need and you made me, yes made me tidy my underwear drawers to avoid baking 🥺. Should we have a run on bras I'm 'covered' 😉 I just need to lose more weight to fit into three quarters of thembut they are tidy now and the ones I can wear at the top 🙂. What are the odds if I bin odd socks the pairs will turn up?
this mornings' burst of energy means I've tidy drawers and wardrobes (shuffling of clothes either too small or too big) a tidy small bedroom, clean bathroom and drum roll please clean windows 🙀. No floors were disturbed in the process as I ran out of steam at 1pm. I just need to wait until the charity shops open again and I'm ignoring the pile of rubbish stuff I dumped on the sofa to go through later.
A friend gave gave me a SW 'hot cross bun' baked oats recipe, they lie oats, egg, FF yogurt and spices do not make a good substitute. So I'm blaming them for the pack of hot cross buns which jumped from the shelf in T Exp when I picked up milk on my daily walk 😣. I only had one the other three have taken up sanctuary in the freezer
B - baked oats
L - HM chicken soup
D - chilli with veg rather than rice

Good evening everyone
jules congratulations on a good loss 👏👏
brambling well done on the tidy drawers, I hope you’ll soon find you’ve got more clothes too big than too small.
people! all this talk of cakes and scones and buns and whatnot is just krool! (Muffins are ok though 🤣, even though they give us muffin tops)
I planted my bean seeds today, and put the indoor hyacinth bulbs and crocuses - long finished flowering - into a tub with some poached-egg plant seeds.B : porridge, hot cross bun (no spread)
L : none
D : steamed haddock with parsley sauce, peas and carrots; cinnamon yogurt

Hi all,
I never did get a set of scales, we went into lockdown before I got a chance, so I have no idea what i weigh, but still feel I am getting positive results. I am sticking to my eating plan, and getting my daily walk in, due to the weather at the moment I am topping up my vitamin d nicely. Hubby and brother are working from home, so I am shopping and cooking for them (the working day seems to be longer from home than the office) as I have no work to do, I also don't have the use of a car so I am walking to the supermarket to get essentials and carrying them home. I spent 1 hour 20 mins yesterday topping up my tan in the Tesco queue!! I have lots of pre frozen batch cooked, plant based, meals in the freezer but have spent the last week or so adding various meat dishes for my home workers to defrost and heat for lunches! Next week I will concentrate on building my stocks up!
Today we had hot cross buns! But walked them off in a 7 mile round trip to drop an easter egg to my dad (socially distancing of course) he seemed greatfull but bemused we did not use hubby's car!
Before shops started closing I purchased a few items of clothing in a smaller size, they were a bit tight, but am now starting to wear them as they now fit.
It is my birthday in 8 days - i think I will do a chicken curry for 2 out of the 3 of us and I have veg curry in the freezer, cook some rice (they can have naan if I can find it) and I wil bake a cake if I can find flour - i can have a small slice - the rest will vanish in this house.
Keep safe.

It's my WI day. Hold your breath..........I HAVE LOST 1 POUND. Repeat. MINUS 1 POUND. Pass the Brasso, I'm polishing my halo. It's only because I'm scared to death of you lot.
Brambling, throw a blanket over that pile of stuff waiting go be sorted and bask in your tidy bits. I'm another one who has clothes waiting for me to slim into, clothes I can reasonably wear without frightening the horses and clothes that I might need again again if the new eating regime fails.
Blue, could you please explain on what possible theory muffins are not fattening? Quickly please. I have a squishy banana and a tasty-sounding recipe for chocolate and banana muffins and am standing here with bowl and wooden spoon in hand.
Actually, that is a bit of an exaggeration. I'm still in bed typing this on my trusty tablet, but that can be changed the instant you explain to me the slimming properties of muffins.
Food sort of planned for today
B: toast and marmalade
L: salad with corned beef and cheese
yogurt with honey and cinnamon.
S: Whatever shouts too loud to be ignored.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Sorry for poking my nose in but I used to make a passable small muffin type cake with eggs and bananas which were quite low sugar and fat, so two or three eggs, two or three mashed ripe bananas, powdered sweetener, a glug of vanilla or french almond, 60 to 90g of flour [ you pick]. WHisk all that together then put in yourkshire tins, you might have enough for ten, you might have enough for twelve, whatever the number, throw a few raisins or cranberries in each 'pot', they'll sink and plump up. Cook [gas 4 or therebaouts] till you can smell they're ready. They won't rise much but they're nice with a cup of tea and not too sweet.

Hi everyone, well done on your loss monnogran you're off to a great start🤸♂️
Today I'm having
B L porridge
D sausage, potatoes, carrots and fine beans. Pudding I think will be fruit and yogurt, but Mums at the helm so it's out of my control. I will just have a bit if its calorific.
S apple
Yesterday I added an orange for my five a day, and it was 1.5 hot cross buns for pud, but hardly any butter.
I've decided to drink more water (I'm a right teabelly), which is going well. It seems to be the season for improving my habits.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone. ☀️A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks8 -

A little late to my first weigh-in but a loss of 3lb.
I've a long way to go but it's a start and I feel more organised at the moment food wise. Life here has changed quite a lot since the lockdown. Having no staff means DH and I now have to work a full day as you can't neglect animals, the housework has gone to pot as well as the veg plot (no pun meant) Not to worry it could be a whole lot worse at least we're out in the fresh air most of the day and I don't miss visitors.
I must remember to post more often but usually at the end of the day I'm tired. Just now was a good opportunity to post as I'm waiting for the aga to really get going so I can put something in it before I venture out to the chickens.
I don't know if it was on here but I saw a post which said
"You're not stuck at home you're safe at home" - so true
