Welcome Jules81 it looks like you will fit in here
we can be a talkative bunch but everyone is very supportive and helpful
Well done Mollya great start to the challenge
TTB I think there's definitely a physiological impact of being told you can't go out as opposed to not wanting to go out. I'm complaining that work is so busy that I don't have time to do anything elseI'm on skype calls most of the day so I'm talking to other people but I do miss the face to face contact with people as i live alone, my nephew complained to my sister that he has always greeted me with a kiss
(he's mid 20s) and it's difficult not to do that now when he see's me, i miss it too
My weight in today was a STS which considering how much picking I've been doing is probably not deserved, like roundtuit I succumb to the siren call of a open pack of anything, and it's all mouth hunger and not actual hunger. I'm going to have to put blinkers on the next time I go near a shop. I found the advantage of going to the petrol station for milk was no queues and no real temptations in there so worth the extra 20p on the price.
Anyway back to work, I really should listen to this conference call just in case someone asks me a questionLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin8 -
Welcome Jules. If you've been reading along for a while, like I did, you will realise that this is a very realistic thread. No one loses weight every week. You don't get gold stars when you succeed, (just a lot of envy and grudging respect). And best of all, a bit of fun along the way.
Now. Tips. Well I've been on the diet wagon for more years than I care to think about and must have tried every tip ever thought of Let's see....
Brush your teeth after every meal
Suck extra strong mints all the time.
Only eat in a particular time frame. (24/24 hours doesn't count.)
Put your meal on the plate then scrape half of it into the bin. ( not advised on an MSE forum.)
Don't eat if there is an R in the month.
Sew your lips together.
I'm sure there will be loads more coming your way.
What I ate yesterday......it's easier than saying what I will be eating today as I don't quite know yet.
Br. 2 weetabix, 1 banana. handful of raisins.
Lu. 2 slices toast + scrambled egg.
1 Orange. I thin slice of fruit cake. (quality control)
I did discover a half eaten packet of salted peanuts under one of the sofa cushions. Goodness knows how long it had been there, Mrs Hinch I am not. Naturally I disposed of it. I was quite thirsty for a while.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Afternoon All,
Another lovely sunny day here, I hope it's the same for everyone else.
Blue Doggy Trust me, nobody wants to see my housework routine. My clothing choices tend to be, errr, shall we say "interesting" and generally nowhere near as covered up as I'd need to be to be seen in publicIt's nice that junior doggy's still helping you with the gardening
roundtuit Good luck with today's head and I hope you have more luck with your prescription today. Going out at all isn't fun at the moment but especially not when it's a wasted journey. I have cupboards that sing to me too, it's not easy trying to drown out the enticing little ditties
Molly Well done on the loss, you've been going great guns since the start of the year.
TTB I can understand why the lockdown's starting to niggle you. Even though I don't actually want to go out I'm starting to find it difficult and I'm lucky in that I can work from home so at least have that to pass some of my time.
jules Welcome and well done on your amazing loss so far. They're a lovely bunch here who cheer you on when you need motivation and never judge if you fall off the wagon.
Brambling Well done on your STS. I've often found that going to a shop where the one item I want is more expensive is actually very cost effective if there's nothing else there to tempt me!! Bless your nephew it sounds like your sister (and you) did a good job with him.
Yesterday I managed to eat reasonably sensibly (okay, I probably didn't need that much cheese in my lunchtime sarnie) and even kept snacking to a bare minimum.
Best of luck everyone and stay safe xx6 -
Afternoon All
Welcome Jules, you are certainly doing well loosing 5 stone already, pretty amazing.
Well I'm just in from work, we are on reduced days and hours at the moment, and I'm off now til after Easter, so shall have to keep myself busy to avoid temptation, and not by baking, planning to cut the grass tomorrow so that should take awhile.Monnagran, you do make me laugh with your tips and the 'nut disposal'
I don't really have any tips as such, I follow SW from home and the only thing I really do is keep a food diary and write down every bite(apart from Sunday's)
I am declaring a sts this week after loosing what I gained last week, and fairly happy with that.
Well done on your loss Molly and the sts Brambling, it's so hard not seeing loved ones, I've not seen my Mum for about 4 weeks now, she usually pops in every Tuesday, I've spoke to her every night on the phone but it's not the same.
Todays meals
B overnight oats with chopped fruit and chia seeds
D lo beef curry and salad.'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

Welcome jules we are a very friendly bunch.
Thank you for all your good wishes xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.7 -
Good evening everyone
roundtuit ah well, at least you dealt with that packet of biscuits and it’ll never tempt you again
molly congratulations on your loss, you’re well on form 👏
tighteningthebelt it’s good you have your family with youI suppose now you’ve done all the chores you have to channel your inner Lady of Leisure.
jules81 hello and welcome 👋
brambling congratulations on STS in spite of the temptations of the home larder (do you think it’s called a “larder” because it has all we need to put lard around our hips?). Shopping temptation-free at the petrol station sounds good, probably less germy too than the main shop.
monnagran did you brush your teeth after the peanuts? (As per your “rules”.) And the flavour combination with extra strong mints must be ... interesting
Izadoraat your housework outfit. Cheese ... mmm ...
SIRENS congratulations on STS 👍
Hugs re not seeing your families, people; mine live five hours’ drive away, seeing them on a screen just ain’t the same. The horrible thing about being outside at this time is the way we are all treating each other in the way we used to call “shunning”, and “turning the cold shoulder”. 😢
Today’s meals

L : tomato soup, bread roll; apple with skyr
D : poached smoked haddock, onion, peas, and the last few bits of broccoli and butternut from the freezer; cinnamon yogurt

Hello you lovely lot, I am hoping to join this new challenge please. Can you put me down for 14lb as I weighed myself this morning and it is starting to creep up again due to all the stress eating I have been doing. Anyway, I have put my good girl hat on today and will list all that I eat so I can keep an eye on the calories. Saying that, I am not sure what we are having today but I will try and stop all the mindless snacking. So great to see all the familiar faces and a few new ones too. Thank you Brambling especially for running this for us, it is so helpful.
I saw a post on Facebook this morning which summed me up beautifully. It was "not saying I over eat but I have actually got a tan from the fridge lightbulb!" Hope you all have a brilliant day, take care xx
