Black_saturn I hope you enjoyed your soup, and your bowl of delicious fruit 🍉🍍🥭
I met a friend this afternoon at a public field, we had a nice stroll round, then sat in the shade of a big old oak tree and had a good chat. It was soooo good to converse with someone face to face. It was in honour of my birthday tomorrow; last year I had a lovely lunch out with a group of friends, this year will be much quieter.Today I Ate

Well done to the -1lb club ladies 👏👏👏 and especially to Monna for reaching her target 🍾 Roundtuit and Molly you're almost there as well 🙂
welcome back Gingerlily 👋
Yep that's the Wife of Bath Roundtuit we had a young male teacher probably not a lot older than us six formers so I think to keep a handle on it took it very seriously and would nag us for not translating enough as homework 🙂. We also had to read Gullivers Travels for A level which I hated.
Black_Saturn I have pineapple and mango so that will be chopped up for tomorrow
Blue locked down Birthdays are strange affairs, but I was thinking if it's not celebrated do we have to add another year to our age?
Izadora I was a good girl and had none of the Parkin before handing it over.
Monna I really like your logic of eating the choicest bit first, it makes a lot of sense 🙂
Other than my weekly trip into town it's been a quiet day although a weekly food shop seems to take a morning these days. This afternoon I did some housework before deciding even weeking the front garden was preferable 😁 I should have taken my old sewing machine round to an elderly friend for a safe distance exchange but decided I didn't need the complaining about the world today so I'll do it tomorrow morning
Foodwise lunch and dinner were almost the same but very enjoyable so I didn't mind 😁
B - fruit salad
L - prawn, smoked mackerel and egg salad with half a small baguette (I realised I didn't need the other half)
D - prawn, smoked mackerel and egg salad with new potatoes instead of bread
S - grapes
i hope all the missing are ok and safe in these difficult times

Hello
Thanks for the welcomes. Well done monnagran on reaching target.I stuck to yesterday’s plan with the addition of an extra coffee, a big mug of tea and a small milk chocolate egg. I was really surprised that small egg, all 16grams of it had 90 calories. I’d already eaten it all before I’d finished inputting it into a calorie counting app! I’ve got 3 bags of them as well in the fridge as they were heavily marked down.Today’s food plan was/is
breakfast: fried egg, 3 rashers streaky bacon, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. 2 coffees with cream.Lunch: baby spinach, iceberg, watercress, cherry tomatoes, roasted red pepper from jar, grilled chicken and pine nuts.Dinner: last of roasted pumpkin with feta cheese and balsamic vinegar and iceberg lettuce. Strawberries and cream.Snacks: cocoa dusted nuts.Have a good day all.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025

Hello x
I have been busy I did some mindful baking and might admit that I had a taste!
I had to go to hospital yesterday as kept fainting and they have upped my steroids 😱 so I don't know if I will make my target - Oh well what will be will be x
Keep positive my friends xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.8 -
Good evening everyone
Molly I’m sorry to hear about your fainting, and hope you’ll soon be feeling much betterBrambling I like your thinking!Brambling said:Blue locked down Birthdays are strange affairs, but I was thinking if it's not celebrated do we have to add another year to our age?
Weighing in - another 1 lb lost. I am now at the weight I slimmed down to in March 2010 for a family wedding. Almost as soon as I reached it, weight piled back on again although I was still religiously following the diet and exercise regime I’d been on. I couldn’t get it to stop increasing, which was very demoralising. In the next six years I put on nearly three stones, in spite of trying other diets, including one which required me to eat only 1300 calories a day - counting up the calories just made me more focused on food, and even on 1300 calories I was adding weight.
When I found the diet I’m currently following, I was amazed that it worked, and I lost two stone between February and June. 😃
I had a lovely birthday, a long phone call with my sister, a surprise delivery of beautiful flowers and lots of emails.
Birthday Feasting
B : porridge with raspberries
D : roast chicken, carrots, courgettes, tenderstem broccoli; strawberries and cream; two hm scones with butter and jam; two glasses of wine
T : cream tea - 2 hm scones, strawberry jam, clotted cream (one scone etc. Devon-style, one Cornwall-style)
S : 4 mini-bars chocolate“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Happy birthday Blue 🍾🎂 I'm glad you had a good birthday even if a little usual
and well done on the -1lb 👏 I've also been down the lose weight gain weight route many times 9-10 years ago I lost four stone and the managed to gain five back, still working on losing that again but ten years older it seems a lot harder to shift
Molly just remember you're health comes first, hopefully the higher dosage will help
i spent the morning searching the house for a small part for my old sewing machine which I was giving to a friend. I handled it over to the friend on her door step trying to explain what part was missing but was easily and cheaply replaceable and as I was talking remembered that to keep it safe you took it off and turned it upside down and slotted it in 🙄 I'll have to go back and tidy the stuff I had pulled out and then dumped back into drawers etc.
I spent just over the hour sitting in my sister's garden both of us trying to stay 2m apart and in the shade catching up with a cuppa on the way home
B - fruit salad
L - ham salad
D - Airfried breaded chicken, new potatoes, runner beans, French beans and tenderstem broccoli

Just enjoying catching up on everyone's posts - I love reading all the positivity and support on here. Thanks Brambling for updating the list. I am loving seeing those saintly smilies, I haven't been able to run for a few days so fingers crossed. I haven't been using the calorie counter app but trying to exercise, listening to my hungry signals and enjoying the food I'm eating. Blue Doggy, I think I may be like you in that counting calories has me focussing on food too much. Btw - Happy Birthday.
Molly I did some baking this afternoon too at DD's request - chocolate cupcakes. I enjoyed nibbling on the cake mix and icing and then scoffed down one, two three!!! They were so delicious (I'm hoping my 5 mile walk today balanced those out!).
I've been wearing an old pair of size 14 shorts all weekend, one of the few size 14 things I'm back into. They were sat in the 'too small' pile for ages but now fit very comfortably. Just a little muffin top and of course wobbly thighs, but I really didn't care and just felt very pleased with myself all weekend(I don't know how they fit me so well as I've still got my very wobbly tummy, but apparently your belly fat is the last thing to go, so I must have lost it on my hips/back I guess).

Morning xx
White rabbits
I'm starting a new challenge alongside my journey with you. I'm setting three goals to achieve over the next six months - using a productivity planner to keep me focussed and on track. I've always been a drifter and gone with the flow or whichever way the wind blows - which is fine, but I don't get anywhere. I suspect my 'flow' drifts round in circles firmly within my comfort zone hemmed in by the BD and anxiety. But I'm feeling brave enough to set sail for uncharted waters ….time I learned how to swim (metaphorically speaking - and maybe literally at some future date when I feel able to wear a swimsuit)
This 'project' is out of step with the thread's quarters but it's 1st June and a Monday. Serendipity. My PP goal 1 is to lose 26 lbs over the next six months - ie one pound a week. Goal 2 is to walk round the village or dance for 30 minutes without stopping - I used to be able to jog round the village! Goal 3 isn't thread related but I'll tell you anyway: to declutter and clean the house and turn my hovel into a haven. I love my house - but you'd never think so to look at it.
Nothing earth moving - but who knows what will happen once I have these foundation stones laid? One day at a time. I'll be 60 on 1st Sept - that's the pivot on the seesaw of the next six months.
Am I making any sense at all? I am to me - but the world according to Roundtuit doesn't always follow other people's rules
Happy birthday for yesterday Blue_Doggy xx
Time for breakfast - porridge with bits in. Nom nom,
Stay safe.
