Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 2

Hello x
I too have recurring nightmares about not being prepared for exams and trying to get more time - I too did the Pardoners Tale wonder if we all about the same age x
Ive got limited internet connection now full again on Saturday as my mania is subsiding an mood stabilisers beginning to work its only now I have some insight I realise how much I have put my family through 😥
Anyway I have weighed in pleased to report a loss of 1lb so pleased with that given im on full dose of mood stabilisers and steroids . Positive hugs to those that need them xx Claps to those who have lost or STS. When does this quarter finish I've lost track of time xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.8 -
Morning Losers.
Roundtuit I can see that you're demob happy, but I'm still trying to work out the freedom anthem. Oh, and it's going to take a lot more than a bit of twitchin' to give me a waist. Well done on impressing your colleague though. It sort of makes it all worthwhile when someone notices.
Blue, I'm the least cheffy person in the world and too much cheese is too much cheese, however you wrap it up. Still, better cheese than chocolate I suppose, and as I don't eat much meat or fish, cheese and eggs are the chief sources of protein. Get me!
Now I've forgotten what else was said yesterday and If I go back to look I'll lose this post so far.
Just keep up the good work everyone and remember to EAT SLOWLY. Unless it's ice cream, of course. If you eat that too slowly it will be dripping off your chin. Nasty!
Yesterday's food. Br: weetabix, banana and grapes. L: salad with salmon (my monthly fish meal) and ice cream (eaten as slowly as possible, in a bowl, with a spoon. No drippy chins.) T: 2 crispbread with cream cheese and cherry jam. S: 1 apple.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Good Morning All
Yet another beautifully sunny day here today, here's hoping that you have the same and that it lasts for the weekend.
supersaver I'm glad it's not just me who can be grumpy with someone for something they didn't actually do
Brambling Well done for putting the bara brith out of harm's way. Will you at least get to test the parkin before finding a good home for it?
Blue Doggy I love the idea of cheese 3 ways, or 4, or 5... Can you tell that I like cheese?honey Sorry that you had bad news, I hope all's as well as can be, and well done for getting back on the horse
roundtuit A waist in a week is very impressive!! I'm with you on the idea of mango iced tea, it doesn't sound pleasant at all. I hope today flies by for you, even if you have ear-wormed me with Europe.
jimali Your menu (peach and banana excluded for me - I'm really not a fan of a lot of fruit) sounds lovely
Molly Very well done on the loss, especially when you're battling against weight-increasing meds. Try to be kind to yourself and worry about you instead of your family. They love you and wouldn't want you to upset yourself.
monnagran Ice cream's a fine balance between eating it too quickly and too slowly. There's a place local to me that do a lemon ice from a whippy machine and it's gorgeous but it seems to melt faster than ice cream so the choices tend to be sticky mess or brain freeze.
Yesterday's food was a bit hit and miss. I had a cheese and cucumber bagel for lunch again and had been doing pretty well at not snacking but my husband very kindly picked me up a salted caramel kitkat when he went to the shop. I tried to resist but my willpower's no match for anything involving salted caramel, at least I really enjoyed it rather than scoffing it just for the sake of it. Dinner was a mushroom omelette with home made potato wedges and a side salad. Oh, I also had a couple of beers in the garden after work, enjoying the last of the sunshine.
Has anyone heard from dumpling? I haven't seen her around for a little while and wondered if she was alright.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx

Good afternoon all,
I can finally say that I'm back to a sts from before starting the C25K. Hoping for a loss this week. I had a funeral to go to yesterday but in these strange times I was saved from eating/drinking my emotions as there was nowhere to go back to afterwards. I went for a socially distanced coffee at my cousin's house instead as she'd already been in the car with me by then.
I've redone the freezer inventory as I didn't keep it up after the last one so I'm more organised I hope. Fingers crossed for a good week for everyone and take care all of you6 -
It is certainly not an easy time to lose weight, but I think we are all doing magnificently, in the circumstances.
Today...
Peanut butter and jam on pitta bread
Chicken and salad inside pitta bread
Chicken, potatoes, spring cabbage.
Whole pineapple. Frozen.6 -
Good evening everyone
Brambling well done on freezing the bara brith 👍 Fingers crossed for the parkin
honey good to see you back, sorry things haven’t been too good.
roundtuit how lovely to get such a nice complimentI cannot imagine what mango iced tea would taste like
Molly congratulations on your loss! 👏 I’m glad the tablets are helping. The quarter ends at the end of June, plenty-ish of time.
Monnagran glad you enjoyed your ice cream. A bowl and spoon is very civilised, and probably contributed to your enjoyment. Can’t see you in a chef’s toque (do they still wear them?).
Izadora well done on eating your kitkat slowly and savouring it.
Cranky good for you on the freezer inventory, it’s good to be organisedsadly I can never keep mine going. Condolences re the funeral, it must have been odd, glad you were able to have coffee with your cousin.
honey I think we are a sisterhood of stars 🌟
It’s been very hot today, and after a long phone call this morning I had to go out to do some errands to places I reckoned were likely to be pretty safe. I planned my route so I could go to a nice independent greengrocers who also sells an interesting range of other foods, and to a farm shop I’d like to use more often but is a bit out of my usual area. I got home late and threw a quick lunch together before having a snooze.
Today’s food
B : porridge
L : cheese salad - cucumber, radishes, tomatoes, olives
D : steamed cod loin with courgette, tenderstem broccoli and fennel; plain yogurt with the first of this year’s alpine strawberries
S : two oatcakes before going out to stop me feeling hungry when food shopping“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Morning xx
My colleagues assure me that mango iced tea is delicious - I'm not prepared to lose calories (no matter how few) finding out.
Izadora -If it's any consolation you earworm me every time I read your name. When he was small DS loved to watch Wizadora and I can hear 'Wizadora, we adore her' (the theme tune) when I read your posts. Amazing how stuff lodges in memory to be triggered many years later. Do you have a Tatty Bogle in your garden, I wonder?
I think we may have studied The Wife of Bath but I don't remember for sure. I do remember 'Des Taugenichts' and 'Pecheur D'Islande'. I stayed awake all night reading 'Pecheur' without understanding huge chunks of it - my first memory of anxiety. And 'Madame Bovary' in French - wish I'd thought to read it in English first so I had an idea what was going on.
Anyways, back to todayI WI and I'm happy to report -1 lb this week. Da da dah daaa - just in case you had managed to un-worm Europe
Stay safe

Hello, I’d like to rejoin if that’s ok. I was last here beginning of the year and lasted a few weeks before I completely lost the plot.I’ve put so much weight on whilst I’ve been staying home I’m back to where I was at the beginning of last year, how come it takes so long to loose yet no time to return.I restarted fast800 blood sugar diet yesterday as I managed to loose on that last year.

Morning Losers,
I can hardly type for excitement. I have LOST ONE POUND. Did you get that Brambling?
That's my challenge met for this quarter, anything else will be a bonus. I can hardly believe that I've had this much fun and still lost weight. I feel that I could keep up this way of eating for ever. The great thing is, I think you could combine it with any other diet, if you are not comfortable without a diet to hang on to. I'm still tweaking it, but so far I have been eating slowly and consciously relishing every mouthful and trying to stop eating when my body knows that it is satisfied , ignoring the yells of my greedy mouth shouting, "Cor! that was a bit of alright. Keep it coming."
To help with that I have added anther thing. Eat the choicest morsel on your plate FIRST. You know, that yummy crispy bit or the bit with most cheese on. There's not a snowball's chance in hell that Ill be leaving that, so I enjoy it first, so that if my body tells me I have eaten enough I will be able to resist eating any more.
Roundtuit, do you realise that you have lost half a stone in 2 weeks? That is amazing. The rockin' and rollin' must be having some effect. And don't worry, if you had ever studied the Wife of Bath you would never have forgotten it. Isn't that right Izadora?
Lovely to meet you Gingerlily.
And the rest of you. You are all amazing. x

monna - whatever it was I remember lots of sex or sexual innuendo and thinking that the English teacher was depraved as he lingered on those sections and us innocent High Schools gels were mortified. There was probably sex in Madame Bovary but that didn't matter as I couldn't understand the words.:p Well done on your loss xx That's what I'm looking for - sustainability and healthy eating rather than thinking of it as a diet (which immediately makes me want chocolate, cheese, crisps, chips, cream, cake, cookies, etc). Being an anorak counting calories works for me as it means nothing is forbidden.
Have a good day. I do hope the rocket launches tonight - I can't cope with another disappointment lol.
Just made DS a bacon butty - not tempted to join him in the slightest as I don't eat meat! I had porridge with bits in (raisons, dried raspberries and such like)
