Brambling A very happy birthday to you. I'm pleased you got your favourite cake and had a good, socially distanced, get together xx

Thanks all, I'm pleased with it, but I've still got a way to go!!
Good day yesterday with calorie intake of 890 and 2867 steps on my dog walk.
-Before anyone panics, my Dr has approved a v-low cal diet due to my thyroid....my 'maintenance' intake is about 15% lower than the average person anyway, so when you take 30-40% off that, it sounds silly-low but it's what's needed. Anyone with a thyroid issue will know what I mean when I say that I have to bring out the big guns to lose anything!! lol
I'm counting steps on my dog walks only - trying to go further. I just took an average last month and I was just shy of 2000 per day so I have given myself a target of 70K steps for May - so far I've done over 18k so I'm hopeful that I'll get there.Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

Morning All,
Black Saturn I agree with Honey, your meals always sound delicious
aimeemum Welcome and well done on your loss so far, especially considering how few calories you had to eat to achieve it. Best of luck with your steps challenge.
Sirens Well done on your loss and it sounds like you had a very industrious day off. I really wouldn't fancy having to commute at the moment but hopefully any lessening of restrictions will be very minor for now and won't lead to an increase in people travelling.
Blue Doggy Hopefully you can have a relaxing day after your housework yesterday. How are you finding your AT experiment? Your menus have looked very healthy recently.
Honey Your menu sounds pretty healthy to me and any avoidance of ice cream is definitely a win.
Thanks for the thoughts/well wishes. I'm fine but one of my cousins died on Tuesday and it's spun me out a bit. I'm sad for me but absolutely devastated for my auntie and uncle and other cousins who were immediate family and it's really highlighting how hard it is not being able to see people and give them a hug.
I actually did pretty well and not eating too much in the way of snacks yesterday, unfortunately that was only because I was so full of bread and pasta that there wasn't room for anything else...
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx9 -
Hi here's a quick mid week check in -
did a 10 k run on Tuesday and not much activity since. Was planning hill run today, but it's a but hot! Will try around 5PM.
Had crepes for lunch, so will have a veggie snack later, as it's not ideal.
Am planning a 10 k family walk tomorrow morning to 'celebrate' bank holiday, as there's not much else we can do. And have a lovely and active weekend :-)

Welcome aimeemum. My, that's an impressive weight loss you've managed. Are you sure you are on the right thread?
We do an impressive line in ingenious excuses here.
Blue, Ah, you had me there. I only sang Ay Ay Yippee Yippee Ay 3 times. In future I'll try singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day.
Izadora, oh, that is tough. Statistics mean nothing until they strike close to home, do they? Much love to you and your family.
I did my fortnightly trip to Tescos this morning. There was no queue to get in but a queue all the way round the store, waiting for a free checkout to get out again
. We loitered past the tinned goods, the bottles of wine and all the bakery products and when I got home I discovered that 2 packs of hot cross buns had sought asylum in my trolley. Poor little things, they were so in need of a good home. I didn't have the heart to turn them away. My generous nature will be the death of me.
Sigh.......1 down and 7 to go.
I'm not posting my meals today. I don't want to make you jealous.I believe that friends are quiet angels

So sorry to hear about your loss Izadora, it's so hard to be apart from family at such a time xx
Well so far today I have done my 30 min on my bike and a 15min HIIT workout with dd, I have done my shopping for the week and whilst putting stuff in the freezer I found some Chinese red bean paste so dd and I have made some steamed red bean buns, have not tried one yet, but they look like they should, I feel a doughy weekend ahead as I promised ds we would try our hand at making pretzels on Saturday.
Monnagran, how kind of you to take in those poor little buns 😇
Today's meals
B orange and a hard boiled egg
L beetroot pasta with courgettes
D kids want tacos so I shall have some of the mince with salad and some Mexican rice.

Sorry to hear about your cousin Izadora, to lose someone is difficult at the best of times but not being able to physically comfort someone makes it so much harder. Two of my nieces lost their grandmother just after lock down due to old age and not the virus but my ex SIL is in SI due to COPD and one of their uncles lives France and with limited numbers allowed the local family were using their phones to relay the funeral service back to the rest of the family, especially difficult for her two sisters at 89 and 90
Sirens unfortunately the weight gain was before the cakeand I've hidden the chocolate in the bottom of the fridge
Aimeemum are you on tablets for your thyroid? I found it really difficult before they put me on medication about 12 years ago as i was dieting and still gaining a lot of weight, after a year of my levels going up and down hovering around the lower acceptable levels i may have had a slight melt down in the doctorsnot because of the weight gain but because I was just exhausted all the time and would come in from work and go to bed. At least the drugs mean free prescriptions......
Monna I have 3 hot cross buns sheltering in my freezer which i try to forget about, they came to me seeking sanctuary at Easter fell right into my shopping bag at the farmers market
I managed to escape work on time today, I may have failed to mentioned I had finished my essential piece of work required by the end of today and didn't join a skype call with the rest of the team which will go on late (the advantage of WFH) I'm working Saturday late afternoon / early evening so I don't feel any guilt as i did work until 5.15pm
I was good lunch time and restricted my essential trip out for milk to just milk, it helped that i went to the petrol station to avoid any queuing and their shop is very limited, I'm not nice if I can't have my many mugs of tea and supplies wouldn't have lasted until my planned visit to the farm shop on Saturday morning.
B - overnight oats with berries

Hello I will read back later x
I have decided to follow the thread and continue with healthy eating but weighing is just too triggering for my Mental Health so will not do so for a few weeks until these meds kick in.
I will carry on contributing though as you are such a lovely and friendly bunch. I think everything has just caught up with me especially with the lock down!
Keep positive my dear friends xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.9 -
Good evening everyone
Brambling I’m glad you enjoyed your special day and cake 🍰🎂🧁🍰. I don’t blame you for missing the Skype call, you work long hours. I know what you mean about tea, I’m not human till I’m halfway through my second mug of a morning.Izadora thank you 😊. Afternoon Tea is going well so far, the proof will be when I weigh in. I’m very sorry about your cousin and family, it’s extra hard at this time not being able to hug them.
Ditty well done on your exercise 👍Enjoy your family walk tomorrow.
Monnagran of course you had to take in those poor refugee buns - you needed a fare-thee-well present for your Fairy Fay, and a “hello” gift for Susie-Anna down in ‘ouisiana. 😄
SIRENS excellent exercise 👍
Molly it’s good to have you along, you’re part of the bunch too, we’d miss you if you left us 💐
Well I dozed off in the sun this morning in the garden, but made lots of vitamin D. This afternoon I had an online chat with a friend, and that’s about it really. Tomorrow my second online order of the lockdown should arrive. I just hope they don’t leave too much out. There are some local box schemes, but family size boxes. I must get in touch and ask if they do single person boxes. I remember my mum, back in the ‘50s and early ‘60s, could send a child 👧🏻 with a list to the butcher or greengrocer and the items would be delivered within 24 hours. And the baker had two roundsmen who delivered the orders daily. The greengrocer my grandparents used had a horse and cart, which used to walk round with the deliveries. When we were visiting my sister and I used to love giving the horse a carrot.
