Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 2

Morning All,
supersaver I love that the calories in a 1lb tub of marge are the same as it takes to add/lose a pound
Blue Doggy Well done on being so industrious, especially the ironing. I'm taking advantage of the fact that it's clear and blowy today and trying to get all of our blankets washed. We try to limit the cat to one of them but he seems to think anything comfy and fluffy is his... I'm glad you had a good chat with friends, even if things did end up a bit out of synch. I've got a video catch up planned over the bank holiday and I think there may be a couple of interesting hairstyles on display!!
Honey Your food yesterday really doesn't sound all that bad. It's certainly better than mine, although that's not really saying much at the moment...
monnagran I think chilliness is much more likely to galvanize me to get under a blanket rather than get active. Your sackcloth and ashes (damn those sneaky lbs) sounds very harsh, I feel faint just thinking about it
Black Saturn Good luck with your exercise bike and well done with getting your healthy snacks prepped. It's so much easier when reaching for something healthy is no harder than reaching for a biscuit.
I really need to try to give myself a talking to as I know that I'm eating all of the wrong things at the moment but I still find myself wandering aimlessly round the house and shoveling snacks in with alarming regularity. About the only way I stop myself eating is getting stuck in to cleaning but I don't have time when I'm working. At least the fact that I'm really craving fresh veg means dinner will be sensible tonight. I'll hoick a quorn cottage pie out of the freezer and have that with as much veg as I can fit on a plate. Hopefully I'll then manage to resist reaching for ice cream once I've finished.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx9 -
Izadora I know the feeling. I am having to fight the urge to open up the biscuits.
I got out one of my 0.5 kilo hand weights - which is just over 1lb - and I realise I have the equivalent of another 22 of those to lose. So I've just put together all of my hand weights in a box to make up 23 lb and I can hardly lift it up never mind walk around with it. Just trying to get my head around how I am managing to lug that extra weight around on my body. Not sure if it will stop my trip to the biscuit tin, but it is making me think

Isadora supersaver
I treated myself to a 15kg bag of coal when I hit 15kg loss... it's really helped me to be motivated as I've got almost the same again to lose (I havent got a fire or anything!!! It just sits at the door as a reminder)
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks7 -

I'm thinking 15kg of chocolate brownies.I believe that friends are quiet angels

I'm not sure if I would use the word treat and coal in the same sentence TTB but i do understand your logic, when I use to go to a fat club she use to have a lump of something rubbery (why did i do a Kenneth Williams oh matron voice in my head then
) on the table which was meant to demo a pound of fat.
Monna am I adding your weigh in to the chart or was it an interim jump on the scales to frighten you into action? I'm another one who would have a 15kg of chocolate rather than coal in the house (although not for long) Supersaver I already have more than that in books which is just as well at the moment as I'm feeding my sisters' habit, she doesn't 'do' electronic books.
I will admit to no longer having bread in the house (other than part bake rolls) I managed to finish a small loaf over the last couple of days so I'm feeling a little sluggish and achy with other side effectsas i shouldn't eat it. I'm also eating my way through stuff I shouldn't have in the house let alone be eating and I'm contemplating making rhubarb crumble and custard
I have a
on one shoulder saying be good and just stew the rhubarb and a
on the other saying make a crumble and custard, we shall see which wins later, especially as you can never make just one portion of crumble and custard. There is a certain event tomorrow which will mainly be a solo affair but my nephew has promised to bake me a lemon drizzle cake and they will bring it around tomorrow evening and we can share from a distance so i probably should avoid making crumble
B - toast and marmalade
L - Fish finger sandwich
D - something with the last of the cold chicken (probably a stir fry with rice)
S - toast and blackcurrant jam, toffees and a fibre one brownlie bar and I still have an evening to get through!!

Good evening everyone
Loving the various images for weight lost/to lose. Mine’s easy enough: Junior Doggy weighs 15kg.Monnagran forget the brownies, have 15kg in Clementines. Six white horses probably weigh a bit more than that.
Black_Saturn best wishes for your exercise bike rides
Izadora it’s horrid when one finds oneself prowling round the kitchen looking for something to eat, I was there as recently as last week. Are you eating enough at “real” meals? Or are you thirsty? (Apologies if this is out of order.)I can’t have ice cream in the house, it just vanishes too quickly
Brambling is it too late to suggest a compromise: rhubarb and custard, and ditch the crumble?
Best wishes for your special event tomorrow, enjoy your lemon drizzle cake.
It’s been another blustery day, so all the dogs’ towels and bedding are washed and dried and smelling fresh.
Etten today:
B : porridge
L : hard boiled egg with rocket, cucumber and tomatoes; apple
AT : one cinnamon scone (no spread)
D : liver & bacon with onion and mixed veg; yogurt with blueberries
S : none“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

B rambling, I wish you well with the stewed rhubarb/crumble debate going on in your head. I had some stewed apple the other day and had a similar quandary about setting it in SF jelly or putting a crumble topping on. The crumble topping won hands down (it was before I joined this illustrious company,) and it made enough for 4, 3, 2, 1 satisfying helpings.
Noooo don't fiddle about with my weight mid-week. I may get to the next weigh-in before anyone notices.
Blue, if you think that I'm going out to meet 6x15kg white horses you have another think coming. I may well sing "Ay, Ay, Yippee Yippee Ay" though, if you're lucky.
I have been very good today, if you discount the hot chocolate with cream. Which you will, won't you?I believe that friends are quiet angels

Ooh Brambling, you must be part witchy, I had just added some rhubarb into my basket before I read your post, I love rhubarb crumble, don't make it often as dh not keen, but it's on offer in Tes@o at the moment and I thought I'd treat the dk's and me to a crumble on Sunday.
It's been a funny couple of days at work, we arrived yesterday to find our floor flooded and water dripping through the roof, think it was leak in one of the flats above us, they couldn't get access during our working day (we couldn't open, but got on with other bits and bobs). Today the leak had stopped but our ceiling tiles were on the floor! We had a tidy up and managed to open an hour late but open non the less. The time moves strangely when you're out of your normal routine, before we knew it the day was over.
Meals today
B porridge, bit of milk, water, pear and tsp of chia and tsp of date syrup (not sure if I like it yet)
L pasta salad with courgette and beetroot and slice of ham, apple, cereal bar.
D sort of chicken lasagna but with aubergine, peppers and mushrooms, used quark instead of white sauce, was okay, but must have been a bit to hot when I added it as it split a bit.
Weetabix cake, thought I'd try them to combat my cake craving I made them four muffin ones instead of one big cake, and it was quite tasty, bit like a bread pudding

Sirens it's my sister whose the witch she was born on Halloween 🧙♀️
I've eaten too much bread today so I'm feeling a little blah which made the rhubarb decision for me it's still sitting uncooked in the fridge as is my dinner, which should claw back some calories
I didn't get on with the quark instead of white sauce sometimes only the real deal will dosomeone else suggested the wheatabix cake to me I may give it a go I use to make malt loaf using all bran
