Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 2

Molly the thread won't be the same without you, weighing in isn't important you are
I don't want to do it without checking but do you want me to remove you from the chart for the time being? No pressure one way or another
Blue I have a photo which was my mums of her and my four oldest siblings as small children in front of the co-op delivery van in the early 50s. They lived in a small village with no buses so as you say the baker, butcher and co-op would all deliver.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin8 -
Oh Molly love, just read along, shake your head at us and if you want to tell us off occasionally we will probably deserve it.
Brambling I am the same in the mornings, only it's coffee with me. It's so automatic now that I'm sometimes surprised to find a warm but empty mug beside me. I swear that the stuff makes itself, trundles into the bedroom and pours itself down my throat before I am conscious. As I wrote on another thread - I don't so much seize the day. I just sort of poke it with a stick.
Blue, when I was a child the baker and the milkman used to deliver in horse drawn carts - couldn't get the petrol during the war. Housewives used to lurk behind hedges clutching a bucket and shovel in the hope that they might beat all their neighbours to the steaming pile and that their roses would flourish. But what fascinated me the most was the lamp lighter who rode a bicycle. He used to ride up to the lamppost very slowly and without a pause lift up his long pole with the hook on the end and pull down the catch that lit the lamp. Then he would change tack and continue slowly to the other side of the road and do the same to the next lamp post and so on, zig-zagging all the way up the road. I never once saw him get off or fall off.
Do you think any one else here has the faintest idea what we are talking about?I believe that friends are quiet angels

Brambling - Yes, I'm on medication. I was diagnosed 10 years ago but have only been 'well' for about 5-6 years after I too had a meltdown at the Dr's. I went after my 3rd was born (he's nearly 7) and was told that my tiredness was 'because you've got children', and 'at your age, it's to be expected'....I was 30!!! Needless to say I found a new GP, and they listened and with their help I've been stable for 5 years. I still have flares and bad days/weeks, but it's so much better. I had a flare earlier this year after catching a bad cold at Christmas and gained a stone....Hence the weight loss journey.
Good Day for me yesterday - only ate 825cal but felt so full as dinner was the most delicious omelette I've made in a long time!! Got to love mushrooms - they're my superfood! Didn't go on my walk though which is a bit of a 'booooooo!' but I did cut my grass and do lots of home-school stuff with the kids so I barely sat down.
Today will be a bit heavier calorie wise as it's friday so it's 'fake-away' night and we're having Chinese. I'm trying my hand at home-made slow cooker fried rice to go with it. Lunch is going to be a 'picnic' for VE day, so lots of ham sandwiches

Checking in with an early WI today and reporting a loss of 2lb this week
.
Very pleased with myself. I've lost a total of 4lb since I joined you all and I haven't seen this weight for a few years now - "Hello 12 stone 10 lbs". I've been logging obese on the NHS BMI tracker app for so long, its good but weird to finally say goodbye to it - I was really starting to lose hope.
One negative is that I have been more tired this week and felt exhausted last night. Although to be honest I don't remember having loads of energy before, I just didn't feel so tired when I was lying around on the sofa all night. I have to remember that my poor body is having to get used to exercising more whilst still carrying around those 11 unwanted kilos of fat. I will have a better look at my diet later - we don't eat much meat these days so will try to include more lentils, beans and nuts in the meal plan.
We've also been looking at our bathroom scales. DH and DD think they weigh too heavy (yes of course haha) so we are going to try some of the WW ones. It won't mean much in terms of weight loss, as for me its all about fitting into my too small clothes but would be good to make sure we have the right numbers for BMI I guess.
Have a lovely weekend everybody and enjoy the day today. Stay safe.

Ok well so much for my post yesterday!! (Hangs head in shame)
I felt ok this morning so weighed in and have lost 4.5lbs so please Brambling add this to my current weight loss chart. Don't know when I will be up to it again but I felt ok so lets hope it continues. Going to do some mindful baking this afternoon - going to make scones and cream tea for Mother and the men in my life. Keep positive and well done to those who have lost and STS and hugs to those who have gained xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

No head hanging allowed Molly, hold it up with pride girl
well done to both you and Supersaver
My bathroom scales were cheap electronic ones (Salter) brought from Sainsburys and I know from when I use to go to SW they are about 1/2lb out I decided against the more expensive ones who would also tell me how fat i wasThe other option to buying new ones is when you can next get to the Dr surgery weigh there (clothed of course
) and then compare as soon as you get home.
Aimee i had a flare about 18 months ago and was being tested every month for 6 months when it yoyo up and down, I didn't put much weight on then but only because i was dieting hard to stay the same and walking 10km 3 times a week which as you know can be very frustrating .
Honey i hope you're feeling better today
So far today I've done very littleother than drinking tea and ordering some tomatoes and herbs from our local gardening centre who are sorting a click and collect service, previously they sold compost that way but now is the first for plants, hopefully as DIY stores are opening they will allow garden centres, especially as most of plenty of room to social distance. I have some tomato seeds in my mini greenhouse but they were planted late and are very tiny so i could have a glut later. I don't have a proper greenhouse so they only do well if we have a good summer. Oh and I watched my lovely neighbour mow my lawn, does that count as exercise?
Not sure on what I'll have for lunch today I trying to avoid bread so it could be salad or something with eggs. Dinner tonight is a late birthday treat of fish and chips from a pub in the nearby village, they do Friday fish and chips which you order via facebook and collect at a agreed time slot, a treat from my sister and nephew although we wouldn't eat together. They are meant to be good and I heard good things from when they did F&C in the pub pre CV19. Limited menu of fish and chips, scampi and chips or sausage and chips
Take care all and have as good a bank holiday as you can, I'm off to hang the washing up now the lawn has been mowed

Oh dear - my calories are going to be all over the place today - making Hairy Dieters 'Savoury Tartlets' to try to be good....alongside the 'War Cake' which, despite rationing being the main reason this cake exists, is still 220 calories a slice!!! Oh well, it's a Bank Holiday!Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

Made scones with DH help and they turned out very well so they enjoyed a cream tea and I enjoyed a nibble!
Another medication added to my ever-growing list of ailments that causes weight gain but I have no option but to take these as without them my condition is life threatening!!!!! Goodness only knows how much more I can take. Anyway xxxxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
