Good evening everyone
Brambling it often seems that for all the technology the 21st century has much to learn from the early-mid 20th (and no one ever wanted to put the, er, output from a diesel van round their roses).
Monnagran I’m sure some people here understand what we are talking about (I would guess Brambling for one) but online education, social history, and culture is all the thing nowadays.Honey I hope you’re feeling better today.
Supersaver congratulations on your loss 👏
Molly well done on that super loss, you really had nothing to fear 👏👍 Keep up the good work. Are there any alternative medications your doctor could prescribe which wouldn’t cause weight problems?
Aimeemum I hope you enjoyed your cake inspite of the calories.
I pottered about this morning until my shopping was delivered, then spent an hour sorting it and putting it away. I caught up with some friends this afternoon.VE Day Anniversary Catering
B : porridge (very 1940s)
L : celery soup, oatcakes with Marmite, apple
AT : hm scone (no spread (rationing?))
D : baked cod loin (white) with broccoli (green & pleasant land), tomatoes (red) and olives (peace); blueberries (blue) and yogurt (dove-of-peace colour)
S : cherry tomatoes from the newly delivered punnet
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Well done, Molly.
These smileys are feeble compared to the old ones so could you please imagine the one we had that jumped up and down cheering?
Aimeemum, I would call a 220 calories a health food.
Still a bit rough, so...
Toast.
Cheese butty
Lamb chop, potatoes, vegetables.8 -
Yesterday's 'damage' was 1320 calories which isn't bad I suppose in the grand scheme (way over my 1050 hard limit but way below my 1650 'allowance' that my Dr recommended for maintenance) - but today is supposed to be my 'cheat' day (i.e. I don't even bother counting as I know it's going to be a splurge! lol) as we're having take-away pizza tonight as a treat for hubby/kids......best get my dog walking shoes on and keep them on for the forseeable!

Blue Doggy yes we will talk to the doctors as I have bi-polar which is also contracted-indicated. Basically I only had the tests on Thursday and then they rang me yesterday with very specific instructions. Im hopefully seeing a consultant next week so we will see what they say. I also need to know where in the gut the tablets are absorbed as obviously I have lost a large chunk of small intestine and large intestine so might have to inject myself. It also puts me at higher risk of infection just what I need at the moment with Corona.
Goodness Ive mumbled on needed to get out of my system sorry xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.7 -
Hmm weighing in at STS

Prancing in today with a smug smile to announce a -1lb weightloss. It is really suiting me, this gentle approach. If I only lose ounces a week it will mount up eventually and in the meantime I'm not continually fighting myself to keep to some unrealistic, draconian diet. It's only taken me 80 years to learn this.
Blue, are you honestly telling me that Clementine and PollyWollyDoodle aren't cultural? Is not Coming Round the Mountain straight from Opera? Well! Who'd a thunk it?
Molly, well done. You'll get there yet. Promise.
Well done losers.
Commiserations STS's.

More later, but just dipping in to say that we (you & I) are doing the online cultural education (and there’s more cultural and social content in those ditties than may at first appear - as I’m sure you know). 😀Honey hope you’re feeling better today.🙂
Aimeemum enjoy your treat day, you can go back to strict tomorrow.🙂
Molly mumble away as much as you need to (we all do!), getting things off your chest among friends is helpful. 🙂 Best wishes.
Ditty well done on STS, 👍 we all know it’s not easy, sometimes things just pause ...🙂
Yeah, well, I went to get my newspaper and while I was moving aside to leave the regulation 2 metres from another shopper I heard a bar of dark chocolate - with orange! - calling my name ... the rest is history...
So, what was etten?
B : bacon & eggs
L : bar (yes, the whole thing) of choc-with-orange, butterbean stew with runner beans (teeny tiny pack ordered by mistake when doing online order); tangerine
AT : no, definitely not after that, just two cups of Lady Grey tea
D : pilchards with salad (celery, radishes, cucumber); cinnamon yogurt

move away from the chocolate Blue
I've been working and eating toffees all afternoon I must stop as I daren't risk losing a filling with limited dentists
I'm blaming you two (you know who you are) for singing very loudly 'she'll be coming around the mountains' as i drove into townI got a strange look from the driver facing me at the lights and an even stranger one from the lady in M&S as I was humming it loudly in there too. I remember driving somewhere as a child singing it in a round with my two sisters, we must of drove the driver mad, I think it was probably my BIL as my dad didn't drive. Typical late 60s early 70s with 4 adults and 3 kids in an estate car and the two youngest sitting in the boot until I got car sick
I remember going on quite long journeys like that
Blue last year one of my colleagues had a very large rat in his garden the two young'uns and our Indian colleague were most embarrassed for us bemused as two of us launched into the 'it's a Siberian 'amster Mr Fawlty' sketchand explaining the Wombles and clangers to an American is another story
I've been working this afternoon on and off between waiting for IT to complete stuff so in my spare time when I've been waiting for IT i have made sausage rolls as well as cheese, potato and carmalised onion ones as well as two scotch eggsnow I've finished work i think I'll have to save my waist line and drop some off at my sister and nephew as pay back for all the cake care packages

See, I knew you’d been brung up proper, Brambling. I’m glad you were able to entertain other drivers and shoppers with cheerful songs of yesteryear 😺 You’re a brave woman explaining Wombles and Clangers to our trans-Atlantic friends 🙀😹
Good thinking to give the fruits of your labours to your cake suppliers 🍰“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Morning Losers.
Brambling, I'm glad Im not the only one who drops catch phrases from long gone sit-coms into conversation You do eventually get used to the blank stares of incomprehension, usually followed by murmurs of "poor old thing. She's really losing it."
Blue, you are so right about the educational value of old songs and nursery rhymes. It's fascinating to explore the events, or disasters, that inspired them. So glad I'm not the only weirdo.
I'm not publicising my food intake because it is an unlikely diet and might throw other dieters off their stroke.
After spending all my life trying not to eat the food I really enjoy and glumly pushing down foods that are low/cal, low/carb, fat free, wheat free, sugar free, salt free, taste free and healthy, Ive decided that enough is enough.
For the few years I have left on this planet I am going to break all the rules and ENJOY my food. Only in moderate amounts maybe, I don't want to occupy an OS coffin, but I will eat slowly and mindfully and relish every mouthful. Gone are the days when I stand in front of the fridge cramming forbidden goodies into my face before I am caught in the act. No more eating an entire tin of biscuits or whole cake or multi-pack of crisps in the hope that I will remove tomorrow's temptations and then get back on to the straight and very, very narrow.
NO MORE GUILT. I am enjoying myself far too much. Time will tell and you will be able to see if it works or not.
TODAY'S PLEASANT THOUGHT.
Lead me not into temptation. Oh, go on then. Follow me, I know a short cut.I believe that friends are quiet angels
