Afternoon All,
I'm not sure how it's managed to get to 3pm already, I'm having one of those work days where I've been really busy all day but feel like I haven't achieved anything!!
supersaver It sounds like a really good, balanced approach you've got this time. I'm with you on someone mentioning the word "diet" and suddenly drooling over all calorific food but not seeing anything as forbidden is definitely a good plan.
Blue Doggy Hopefully the good-intentions gremlin will stay firmly in his box for you
Brambling Well done for getting a hairdresser appointment, even if it is still a while away. I've only ever tried cutting my own fringe once (seeing as I haven't had a fringe for over 20 years it must've been a long time ago) and swore never, ever again
dumpling I'm glad you were having a good mood and food day. Did you find something to do with the fish?
aimeemum I hope your husband's neck is better soon and you're not run too ragged with your busy day.
Honey Sorry you're at the mercy of supermarket deliveries and soggy white bread, I tend not to buy it as the only things I like it with are really unhealthy. I hope you manage to pick up something better soon.
Black Saturn I'd never head of jeera aloo so had to google it, I think I might have to add it to my ever-growing list of things to try.
I seem to be eating a lot of eggs at the moment and they definitely help me snack less so I might try putting a couple of hard boiled ones in the fridge and try them, rather than biscuits, if I feel munchy.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx8 -
Hello All
Well day off today so thought I'd cut the grass, have done my 30 min on my exercise b I,e I've also gained +1.5lb I'm not really surprised I'm sure it was all that bread over the weekend. I love bread and where I try to keep away from it in the week, I go a little bread crazy. I seem to swing from being really good to really bad.So this week I'm trying to find balance, like Monnagran said it's about enjoying food, tasting it, making no food out of bounds. I'm going to enjoy my food but make consistently healthy choices, for me it's so easy to through my whole day or even week out the window over one biscuit or one slice of cake, I'm such a quitter!
So today
B fruit and 2 hard boiled eggs
L pasta and chicken
D jacket pot and dd is trying her hand at ratatouille, so plenty of veg
then a mug cake later made with oats.'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

Hello everyone
I have had another good day and managed to eat very well as well as pretty healthily. My husband ruefully patted his tum and said he would join me as he wants to lose a bit of weight too. This will make things a bit easier for me to be honest and so I will be supporting him as much as he wants.
Sirens, I am also a bread addict so I am trying hard to limit myself to just a couple of pieces a day instead of half a loaf
Izadora, I will join you in boiling some eggs to use as snacks. I am also going to make some scotch eggs using low fat sausages as I used to make them ages ago and they were always popular with the family. The fish has been pushed back to tomorrow and I think I will do some Chinese 5 spice with it and egg fried rice.
My meals today were -
b - bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans and toast
l - tuna and avocado salad
d- cottage pie, carrots, cauliflower and cabbage with gravy
s - banana, satsumas
Hope you all have had a good day too and if not then hugs are on offer. Take care xx

A STS for me this week definitely a could do better and I must stop picking.
Work is as manic as usual with the threat of a very late night Friday. The cat tried to join my Skype call today, luckily it was audio only, I had to lie and say I didn't know why I had to drop off and reboot rather than admit that the cat had walked across the keyboard and now the keyboard doesn't work to my overseas colleagues 🙀🙄 it makes a change from him laying on my mouse mat and guarding the mouse 🙄 tonight he joined a zoom call I was using my tablet and I'm told it's rather disconcerting to hear my voice and just see just the cats face 😁
food wises today has has not been very healthy although very nice 😐
B - berries, banana and yogurt
L - bacon and egg pita sandwich
D - bubble and squeak, white puddling and runner beans

Morning Losers,
Brambling, I've been doing a bit of home teaching on Facetime with my 7 year old granddaughter. Their dog was very excited to hear my voice and see my face and tried to muscle in on the act. She found spelling tests and maths a bit boring so wandered off, but she absolutely loved story time. She would push Pickle out of the way so that she could see me better. There were noises-off as Pickle struggled to get out from underneath her, but I found myself telling the story of the Princess and the Pea to an enraptured Dalmatian.
Still loving my new way of eating. I keep waiting for the heavens to fall and finding myself on a great binge, but all OK so far. Strange things happen when you actually eat slowly and meaningfully. I've discovered that food that is absolutely delicious when you start eating, soon loses it charm the longer you keep at it.
Yesterday I had a sort of picnic lunch...a cheese sandwich, (HM bread and zingy mature cheddar, heaven!) with salady bits, a mayonnaise dip and a packet of crisps. I was about to start on the last quarter of the sandwich when I realised that I was bored with it, so left it and finished up the salad and crisps, which were delectable to the last bite. Next time I will make a smaller sandwich because I hate throwing food away.
It does make me wonder if I actually enjoy the THOUGHT of food more than the actual taste if it, and how often I keep pushing it down just because it's there.
It's all a revelation.

Morning All,
Sirens Commiserations on the gain, I love bread as well and could quite happily have it for every meal. I've found a good compromise for me is matzos crackers, they're really low in calories and I love them. I just need to work on not having butter with them now...
dumpling I'm glad you had another good day and it's great that your husband's joining in as well, it'll be such a help that you can encourage each other
Blue Doggy I haven't had oatcakes for years but was watching a programme the other day (James Martin I think) which was showing them being made and I've really fancied some ever since.
Brambling Well done on your STS and I hope that work calms down soon. I'm fortunate that my cat's far too lazy to try to join in on any calls.
monnagran I love that the dog wanted to hear your story as much as your granddaughter did, I don't blame her for not sticking around for the spelling and maths though
Yesterday wasn't too bad a day food-wise. I minimised the biscuit snacking and had a quorn bacon and egg sarnie for lunch and then a mushroom roast for dinner with loads of veg, we'll just gloss over the roast potato part...
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx6 -

Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
