Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 2

We all seem to be ploughing on come what may, despite the scales, and it is quite inspiring.
Today..
Pickled onion butty on wholemeal bread at last.
Box of grapes.
pork chop, potatoes, green beans, cabbage, broccoli, onion gravy.
It was an easy day today, I'm not sure why.5 -
Good evening everyone
Brambling well done on keeping it to just STS 👍
monnagran it’s sounding very good, I’m glad you’re enjoying your new way of eating. And your home-schooling sounds fun. Dalmatians always make me think of Spotty Dog in The WoodenTops.
Izadora I love oatcakes, both the Scottish type which are everywhere, and also the Derbyshire/Staffordshire type (which I’ve tried to make with varying success. If anyone knows where I can buy them online I’d be grateful to know.) Unless you put sugar on your roast potatoes, they’re probably much healthier than biscuits
Black_saturn sorry you had a bit of a dull day, I hope you’ll be back on form tomorrow.
Short_bird stay safe and well, best wishes, see you next time.Molly brave you! Fingers crossed for you. Hoping it’ll be better than you think.
It’s been quite a social whirlwind today! As well as the usual email exchanges I had an unexpected phone call this morning, an hour’s online chat with friends, and after tonight’s clapping I had a longish chat with one of my neighbours. 😊 I was at the edge of her drive, and she was in the doorway, but it was an actual face-to-face chat!

The cat tends to sleep most of the day on my dressing gown on my bed Izadora but when he gets active he can be a right PITA we have many a falling out over the tablet, he knows if he hits it hard enough the screen moves 🙄 combined with the fact he's not a lap cat but a bust cat 🐱 led to an interesting few minutes on my call.
today I'm trying to shape up, this week I've been holding on to the wagon by my fingertips 🤐 I need to stop picking as it's only mouth hunger during Skype calls and not actual hunger, like many of us I'm not sure of the last time I got really hungry.
B - overnight oats and berries
L - salad nicoise- fresh tuna, boiled egg, new potatoes, olives with the first salad leaves from the garden
D - cod loin, LO new potatoes chipped in the air fryer, asparagus and tenderstem broccoli
S - banana, blueberries
I loved spotty dog Blue there was something about the way he walked 😁Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin5 -
I remember spotty dog. We used to do the spotty dog walk at school - it was a bit robotic I think, but we found it hilarious especially as he was very energetic about it
I didn't have a very good day yesterday food wise. For some reason I was a bit hungry but more picky than anything. Not hugely overeating during the day but I didn't enter my calories into the app. I felt a bit coldly and when the evening came, while I cooked the homemade pasta sauce, I was picking at the cheese I grated. Then I ate one of the part-baked rolls dipped in the homemade tomato sauce waiting for the pasta to finish cooking. Then I had a big bowl of pasta and sauce with cheese on top and finally finished off with a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes!! It was very comforting food, but I still feel like a bowling ball this morning.
I'm switching my WI day to Saturday this week as I popped on the scales about 5 am and was 3lbs up!!! I'm hoping some of that is yesterday's overeating, but I know I will be up at least a pound if not 2lb. Normally I would descend into darkness and give up, but, although I'm not happy about it, I do feel a lot different about it this time. I'm picking myself up, dusting myself off and getting back on the wagon. Off for a run this morning to use all that pasta energy. I'm not sure who it was on here who said something like that you should have a weight range of about 2 - 3 lbs, rather than a fixed figure. That's such good advice and I'm very happy that I'm still under the 13 stone mark, plus there are still over 6 weeks left of this quarter to kick some more of that weight into touch. It is hard, but as someone with wise words on here said - if it was easy everyone would be doing it.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Hello x
Hugs to all of you x
Well I braved the scales and can report a loss of 1Ib so pleased with that. I am on a lower dose as the original dose sent me manic - not good when you have bi-polar! Now I have to introduce my mood stabiliser so we shall see the effect of that on my weight now. Hugs to those who are struggling and well done to those who have lost or STS xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.8 -
You're too young to remember the Wooden Tops Black_Saturn
He was 'the very biggest spotty dog you ever did see'
Part of Watch With Mother for pre school age children, I would like it to be known I saw the repeats and not the originalOthers old enough will remember Andy Pandy and the original Bill and Ben etc

Morning Losers,
Honey, I'm drooling at the thought of a pickled onion sarnie. If I hadnt already promised myself boiled eggs for lunch......... there's always tomorrow.
Supersaver, hope you enjoyed your run.
Personally I think that a run first thing in the morning is a good way of making sure that your day can't get any worse, but each to his own.
I've just noticed that there is another page today that I didn't notice, but if I go over to see who else is reporting in I will lose what I've already typed. Sorry, unknown posters.
It's my WI day tomorrow and I don't think I will have lost much, if anything. As long as I'm still within my window I won't worry. I'm having such a ball eating things that I have denied myself for years.
Well, if I'm honest, not exactly denied myself, but gobbled up secretly and guiltily, and having broken my diet I would then go on a binge because I'd already ruined today and tomorrow I would be 'good' again.
I'm considering wearing my face mask when I'm cooking so that I can't unthinkingly pop bits and pieces into my mouth. It seems a shame to be eating things and not properly enjoying them.

Oh, its only you I missed Molly and Brambling.
Molly, you are doing SO well. Fingers crossed that the new pills won't be too disastrous.
Brambling, Spotty dog is just like our Dora. I can't see from the picture, and I can't remember if Spotty Dog had one white ear and one black one like Dora. Dora loves watching TV. We have a lovely picture of her watching 101 Dalmations.
I'll have you know that I could not have watched Andy Pandy et al when I was small. I couldn't have watched ANYTHING on television. We didn't have a television. No-one had a television. We did have a radio, but the only programme for children was CHILDREN'S HOUR. Uncle Mac, Larry the Lamb, Goodbye Children, Everywhere.
By the time my brother came along 6 years later, I was sitting with him for Listen With Mother. Dorothy Oxenford, "Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin."

Thanks Black_Saturn, it was hard, but it certainly helped and I feel a lot more positive afterwards.
I've just looked it up and have remembered a bit more now - Spotty Dog was a character on The Woodentops. The whole family was wooden, including Spotty Dog, hence his sort of robot/wooden movements. You can find them on youtube if you want to see for yourself. I'm going to have a little look and go back down memory lane - I can't remember them being in black and white, but they clearly wereOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10
