Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 2

Good evening everyone
SIRENS I know just what you mean about the easiness of putting on weight - Christmas is always worth +7 lbs for me without winking
dumpling, tighteningthebelt commiserations on your gains. 😔 I hope your nice new notebooks help, a diary of foods eaten and moods every day as well as weight might help to see where it goes wrong.
Ditty spreadsheets can be a useful tool, at least mine was, and I could start to see causes and effects (then I added just one other chart and the whole thing fell apart, but the lessons remained).
Did you hear that noise? That was the worm turning, enough is enough.Weighing in: just a big fat STS. Am I surprised? No, of course not, I paid good money to eat and drink things I knew would not lose me any weight
Food today
B : porridge
D : roast beef, onion, parsnip, cabbage; hm cranberry scone (no spread) (for testing purposes, therefore calorie free)
AT : hm cranberry scone (no spread)
T : cinnamon yogurt

Hi, just remembered that I had to take some meds once that had weight gain as a side effect. When I looked into it obsessively (like I do 🤣) it was an average of 2lb over a whole year! As someone who is more than capable of putting 2lb on over a weekend I was greatly encouraged by that, so thought I'd share 😊. Its not a done deal and you have been doing ever so well.
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks10 -
Welcome back Honey you were missed
Let me know if you want me to add a target for you?
I've updated the chart, let me know if I've missed anyoneit has been known
and let me know if you want me to adjust or remove our targets
Dumpling I think you said your son is doing catering at college can you set him a challenge on finding some tasty and healthy recipes for the family with what you have ineither for him or your husband to cook?
Yesterday was a bit of a slow day, I was woken up by the furry alarm clock before 6am and being a soft touch got up to feed and unlock the cat flap before going back to bed for 3 hours, not a good idea for me and I regretted it all day as I felt like my brain was stuffed with cotton wool. I caught up on some reading, some recorded TV and progressed on my crochet blanket (when my hands allowed it). Just as well no one but the cat can complain that the floors weren't washed and the bathroom cleanedI also raided the emergency chocolate and it didn't end well, proved by the slightly sick feeling i had by the time I went to bed. My meals weren't that unhealthy it was the rest
I going to try better today the plan is
B - Stewed apple and blackberry with FF greek yoghurt
L - smoked ham and egg sandwich (the bread needs eating and won't fit in the freezer)
D - Cold chicken and ????? either a salad with new potatoes or with airfry chips and LO veg from the roast
S - fruitLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -
Hi everyone,
Brambling that is a very good idea, I will get Lee onto that today. I feel I have had enough sleep today for a change and I have got washed and changed so that is a positive start to the day.
Lee made me breakfast this morning and he wants to bake some bread later so that will be nice, he makes amazing loaves and rolls. We ended up having a very nice indian takeaway last night so we are having the steaks today for dinner with some new potatoes and salad. I am not sure what is going to be for lunch, probably a tin of soup or something.
I started my journal and will keep a record of what I am eating as well as how I am feeling. I hope it will help me get a grip on things. Right, I am off for now, hope you all have a great day xx

Morning Losers.
I looked back to see what I had written yesterday and it wasn't there. Either I only dreamt that I had posted, or that I had indeed posted but then pressed the wrong button. Either scenario is possible. The brain cells are now at a recognisable number and it has done me no good at all.
B rambling, I know what you mean about only you and the cat knowing if the house is clean or not. I don't even have a cat and find myself not bothering whether things are done or not because no one will know except me, and I don't mind.
It's sobering to find what a shallow person one really is. I obviously only clean to impress the casual dropper in.
I admit to being another exercise book junkie. I have a whole library of them, all started out being organised into various subjects and ending up being a pot pourri of hastily jotted down messages, recipes, telephone numbers, poems, diet plans, hints, tips, quotes and to-do lists.
And to think that I spent my whole working life being uber organised.
Black Saturn, what do you mean - a pound is not much? Look at a pound of lard. That is what your poor body has worked off in only a week. That is tremendous stuff, you should be proud.
Planned food for today is....
B: weetabix, banana and raisins,
L: some of yesterday's LO chicken and ham pie, salad and sauteed potatoes. Maybe a bit of ice cream.
Sn: 1 Clementine (probably long lost 3rd cousin once removed Blue. Oh, and stop knocking those herring boxes, they are the only things that fit my feet) and numerous extra strong mints.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning All,
So much to catch up on from the weekend!! Sorry if I miss anyone.
Black Saturn Well done on the loss and I hope you enjoyed your day off from exercising. I still haven't looked up the youtube videos and, as you said, it's only 17 minutes so there's really no excuse. Well, other than my sheer laziness
Blue Doggy Well done on the STS, all that running alongside the wagon must've paid off.
Brambling I had the same problem with a furry alarm clock yesterday but didn't manage to get back to sleep. Instead I used it as an excuse to spend the majority of the day lying on the sofa, watching rubbish TV and eating way too many snacks. I also convinced myself that there was no point in finishing off the cleaning I started on Saturday as it wasn't going anywhere and, seeing as we won't be for a while either, there's plenty of time to get it done.
Cranky Well done on the STS and I hope that the new exercise regime starts to pay dividends soon. Your Zoom pub quiz sounds like a lovely way to end/start the week.
ditty Well done on the loss and completing your timed run. Setting up a motivational spreadsheet sounds like a great idea.
dumpling Sorry for your gain. As others have said, try not to be sad about it and I'm glad you've had a positive start to today.
Honey Welcome back, it's lovely to see you again. I think a lot of people have had a similar reaction to the current situation, I know I certainly have.
Molly Sorry things are such struggle at the moment. Other people have already put things far more eloquently than I could but I hope that things ease up for you soon, be kind to yourself.
monnagran Well done on the STS and sorry for the lost/imagined post. I often have such vivid dreams that they're really hard to distinguish from reality. Many a time I've had a conversation with someone about something I/they have said only to realise that I'd dreamt it
rounduit Well done on the STS. I know exactly what you mean about the pressure to lose weight causing extra anxiety, which then leads to eating more rubbish. I swear that there are times when I lose more weight when I'm not dieting than when I am!!
sillyvixen What a lovely thing for your husband's granny's birthday. It's a shame you couldn't celebrate with her but I'm sure she'll really appreciate the card.
Sirens It definitely wouldn't have been fair to disappoint your daughter by spurning the pancakes and I hope you managed to distance successfully from the cookies.
snowbird Well done for resisting the self-defeating urge to jump on the scales.
supersaver Well done for keeping the long target in sight rather than looking backwards. I do have an awful habit of dwelling on mistakes, which is no help and only seems to make me even worse in the here and now.
TTB Sorry for you gain, they're never fun but it's especially harsh when you've been doing everything right. Hopefully it's just a weird fluctuation and it'll disappear next week.
I just about remembered that it was weigh in day today and, despite really not wanting to, I hopped on the scales and was very shocked and happy that I've managed a -1lb loss this week. I think it's most likely the difference between having had a big dinner last week and cheese on toast last night but I'm still going to take it
I'm another one who loves pretty notebooks but I find that the majority of them stay empty, the only ones I ever use are the magnetic ones on the side of the fridge which I use for shopping lists, and I found a few I'd completely forgotten about when I was clearing out my bedroom drawers on Saturday. That's about as exciting as my life gets right now
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx7 -

Good evening everyone
Izadora, Black_Saturn congratulations on your losses 👏👏
dumpling well done on a good positive start to your day, and hope your son’s cooking gives you a further boost.
monnagran wise words about the lard!Re the herring boxes it’s not me (I) you have to worry about, it’s the old chap down the mine, he’ll be wanting to put the gold nuggets in them. Keep on chipping away at Darling Clemmie’s family, before her ghost starts coming round the mountain...
honey hi there ! 👋 Good to see you again.
Brambling ah! the Furry Awakener! They do nothing for the energy or mental composure of their slaves. Senior Doggy turned his internal clock the wrong way when the hour changed, and has been barking to go out at is-there-really-such-a-time? (it’s well before sparrow-f*rt!) every morning since.🥱😴
I’m feeling quite glad: I did all my ironing yesterday morning, and got all the new lot of laundry dry on the line today. (I like ironing when I’m listening to a programme on the radio.). Spent a couple of hours this afternoon in online chat with a group of friends, no cameras luckily so no roots (women) or 18th century hair-styles (men) on view. None of us has ultra fast broadband, so there were some amusing replies to the wrong questions.
Anyway, Grub of the Day
B : bacon & eggs
L : celery soup, oatcakes with Marmite; Skyr with a teaspoonful of crabapple jelly
AT : one cranberry scone (no spread)
D : cauliflower Bolognaise; cinnamon yogurt (imagination malfunction)

Brambling can you put me down for five pounds please?
If I can manage that it will be a good start.
Not a good start today.
Black pudding (the low fat one) bacon, mash, tomato, beans, duck egg, toast.
Waldorf salad.
Plus shortbread biscuits and a couple of meringues.9 -
Morning Losers,
A bit chilly here, it should galvanize this lazy bod into action, but I think I have the strength of will to resist it.
On one of my hops on to the scales yesterday I was appalled to find that 2lbs had appeared from nowhere when I wasn't looking. So today is sackcloth and ashes and boiled eggs.
B: 1 slice toast and marmite.
L: 2 boiled eggs and 2 crisbreads. SF jelly.
Snack. 1 darling Clementine. (Blue, I'm sure I've seen her ghost coming round the mountain. It was certainly wearing pink pyjamas.)
I believe that friends are quiet angels
