Good luck with cancelling. Lots of people try to cancel but I don't know how many succeed.

It sounds as if they may have put you on a business contract - that seems to happen to most people who post here. They then say that you have lost your rights to cancel under DSRs.

Based on others experiences, you need to be prepared to pay lots of money for the "free tablet" over the next few years, so I hope you can afford it.

I really hope you can get out of it, but they seem very tenacious.

PS There are unhappy one-com customers on the vodafone forum as well

If you read some of the other posts, people have been told that they have the regular 7 day cooling off period and then they get passed to another person who then switches them to a business contract.

If you read the posts, everyone seems to have a similar experience: coldcalled by "vodafone", offered "free phone" or "free line" or whatever. Assured that it is completely free and there is 7 day cooling off period.

Then big bills for "free tablet" or whatever, no cancellations due to business contract etc. You can read these posts as well as I can. Why do you think you will be treated differently?

The only people that I have heard of escaping from this are people who have asked for help from the voda rep on this forum.

If onecom refuse to allow you to cancel, I suggest you do the same

  • I made the call to onecom this morning Monday 14th April 2014
at 8.55am to terminate my contract and return my items under the distance selling regulation the lady said she would pass my information over to the cancellation team
and would be called back within 24 hours.

I received call back from cancellation team at 09.33am same day - the call was approx 10 minutes long and i recorded it.
The gentleman could not understand WHY i wanted to send back a FREE gift and tried for ages to explain to me that nothing would change to my account etc etc...and there would be NO charges at all on the myfi unless i went over the data amount. Kept saying as its a FREE item that i could give the ipad etc to one of my children, family or friends.

i repetitively told him i did not like change, i did not need ipad or
myfi unit, that i wanted all my account information removed from
themselves and everything to stay being managed solely by Vodafone.

i also stated to him if he kept hassling me that i would take this
    matter further.
He was very persistent and kept trying to reassure me nothing would change etc etc and wanted to know what i had heard that had made me make this choice - i did explain that i have a form of OCD and the worry about this had started making me ill .

i have hardly slept, eaten or done anything except google onecom since Saturday 5am and coming to this site.

Why don't you reply on the forum so everyone can see if this deal is kosher or not?
