I've gone a good few pages back through this monster thread and can't see anything that quite matches my question.

Easyjet sent me an email today about my flight a month away, offering me vouchers if I want them. We've long since accepted we're not going and we're likely to travel with them in the next year anyway so... any reason I shouldn't take them up?

Basically, are there any real gotchas which make taking vouchers a bad idea? The flights were dead cheap so I'm not really all too worried about getting my money back in the short term.
Down side if EJ do go under you might lose the vouchers.

EasyJet just emailed and offered £10 additional ‘thank you’ credit if we ask for vouchers before flight on 2 July is cancelled. My guess is if I wait until flight is cancelled they will increase the  ‘thank you’ credit. Does this make sense? I would prefer flight to be cancelled as I need to negotiate a ‘force majeure’ refund from hotel.
    Thanks

If you think a cancelled flight helps with getting a refund from the hotel, then I wouldn't worry about the extra tenner,  just wait till they cancel the flight.

I think I'll take that risk.

Hadnt thought about the hotel refund being related though. I'm guessing insurance may not cover that if I'm volunteering to cancel my own flight? Or are they just separate things?

The only thing that would put me off is the fact that you can't use the vouchers for online bookings, you have to ring the call centre to make your booking if using a voucher.

Where's that information from? http://www.easyjet.com/en/policy/disruption-vouchers makes it look like I'd be able to spend it online from my account.

From all the complaints on the Easyjet facebook page from people who have tried to use them online.

Edit- its possible they have amended it as they were not offering the added incentives previously.

There is light at the end of the tunnel!

My 26/04 flight was cancelled on 19/04, and I've just had the refund come into my bank overnight.

Similar for me, for flights on 24th April.  They emailed me the details of the refund a couple of days ago and it has just showed up as a credit on my credit card.

Checked this morning - flights 03/05 and 10/05 outbound leg cancelled 21/04 and refund requested same day 21/04 using their help hub online form.

No refund as yet.  Hopefully in a few days if they are refunding 19/04 cancellations today - but I've not had any email since the initial confirmation they received the form back on the 21/04.  Chargeback is also in progress with Natwest but they are taking almost as long (45 working days to review the dispute form)
