Ah ok you may be right - just seems coincidental that it's the same timeframe allowed for the dispute. Good luck!

We have a flight + car rental booked with Easy Jet for July - does anyone know whether there are cancellation fees if we cancel the car booking? Their terms & conditions send you round in circles and aren't clear. Scared to hit "cancel car reservation" without knowing as it was a very expensive family car rental booking, and can't get through to anyone at Europcar either?!?
    Di you ever solve this?
We have flight and car hire with EJ for July too. If we ask for a voucher will we get a refund or voucher for the car hire too?

Has anyone achieved a refund through Easyjet? I had flights booked in March, April and also June all through Easyjet and all have bene cancelled due to Covid. I have e-mailed, telephoned and requested a refund through their app, and the first flight ( 23rd March) Still hasn't been refunded. I recognize that they are likely to refund them in date order as and when they get to them, but I cannot get a charge back form my credit card as I booked these flights in September last year and I am out of time. Just wondering if any one has had any luck at all. In addition they have sent me a letter advising we are one of the very few who has had their ID's compromised and to cancel our cards, contact the passport office! Such poor customer care
Pleased to say we had a holiday booked for May which was cancelled 4 days before and surprisingly received full refund in 15 days later, without any asking , forms etc.
Seems like a distinction between 'flights' and 'package holidays'
    Or I was just lucky?

We were lucky as well (as I have said numerous times on this thread.)

Full refund within 14 days (but it was for a full package holiday, for which we paid up front, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.)
A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.

Are you eligible for compensation if your flight is cancelled exactly 14 days before compensation? I was due to fly 18/06, just received cancellation confirmation today.
I found information on this link suggesting I can : https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/i-had-a-flight-cancellation-can-i-claim-compensation
If your flight was cancelled between 7 and 14 days before departure - however the table only shows if a new flight was arranged.
No compensation is due as COVID-19 isn't easyJet's fault.  However you are due a full refund.
  • Why are Easyjet taking so long to process refunds. I have this vision of one person in a pokey dark office sat at an old typewriter processing refund requests..Some not getting their money back in their accounts months after claiming. Obviously not keen to return the funds.
  • Still not sure..will wait a bit longer.Thanks everyone

It's more basic than that, EJ are having major cash flow problems and are reliant on new bookings to provide cash to refund customers. So it's a case of, they will refund us when they get some £££ in their bank account from people booking new flights during the pandemic

Basically it seems the airline companies have been paying this months bills with next months wages. It's incredible how multimillion pound companies can operate in such a way. Actually embarrassing.

Also Easyjets policy of not notifying customers until 7 days before the flights if its cancelled is a disgrace. They basically want people to cancel so they dont have to refund them.

Unfortunately my love for travelling means I need both them and Ryanair at some points and theres nothing I can do but use them but it's a joke.
  • Finally had our cancellation notice today, we were due to go on Saturday. First time booking a package holiday with EasyJet and will likely go back to TUI next year. Our hotel closed in March and isn’t reopening until December so we knew back then it would be cancelled. I’m just shocked they think it’s okay to wait until 5 days before we’re due to depart to cancel. Now for the wait to see how long it takes for the refund to come through!
