Easyjet cancellations and refunds

I am trying to change a flight online to another one within the timeframe offered, put in all details, choose new flights, but when I get to the payment button it is dead, nothing happens. Anyone else having trouble changing flights?0

I am wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me, I realise this is a lot older than some of yours and perhaps I should of acted sooner but I have been trying to remain patient given the situation but now feel I may have been had off.
I had a package booked with easyjet holidays (booked in November so an old H reference which is no longer valid on the website) to leave on the 18th March. On the 10th I received an email stating the holiday was cancelled based on FCO advise and could I provide details for a refund, IBAN etc. I responded same day. On the 18th I received a further email stating this info was received and had been passed to the accounts team but "refunds may take slightly longer".
Since then, nothing. Is anyone else in the same boat, reading through many of you have already received refunds for trips later than mine or have processed refunds through the website which I am unable to do?0 -
we got this email and were pleased because we have paid £3k towards the final balance. However when you go into the easyjet site, there is no information about refunds for anything above the deposit paid. Would this email be evidence enough to get a refund if we decide not pay the balance? ThanksBrowntoa said:

It reads to me that they will refund your deposit as a credit note , anything above that as a cash refundEx forum ambassador

That's what we thought but we then had a final payment reminder and their website is not relaying this message at all - it is only giving information about deposits. We stand to lose £3k if they don't stand by their email. Alternative is to pay the £1.8k balance and hopefully be able to cancel if FCO advice is still unchanged (we are due to travel in July). Is an email like this legally binding? It has our travel reference number on it.Browntoa said:It reads to me that they will refund your deposit as a credit note , anything above that as a cash refund0 -
TBH I'm not surprised, I think other holiday companies will have to follow suit, not because they want to but to stop future claims.
If someone pays a large deposit on a holiday and cancels, then the holiday company cancels, the holiday company will find itself being told to refund those deposits.
As how can a company make a profit from a holiday that never takes place.

I would keep a copy of the email , I'd say my interpretation is correct.
I think a lot of the spurious balance reminder emails are automatically generated by their systems and haven't been turned off .
Leads to exactly this confusionEx forum ambassador

Patiently waiting for my 31/5 to be cancelled but I noticed yesterday that the flight is now done as sold out where as previously, there appeared to be plenty of seats available.
is this a good sign that it will be cancelled?
also, does anyone know the t&cs of the voucher being offered to people whose flight is yet to be cancelled? Do you have to book & fly within 6 months or can you just book within 6 months but fly later? I'd chance it if it was the later as I booked my flight last September.0 -

Once it's cancelled I believe you can swap to any flight within the next year if you want.
Not sure how the voucher works.
