Easyjet cancellations and refunds

Just received the following email from EJ regarding our flights next month (Jun 10 & 19 for a wedding). Hard to say if it will be cancelled but I would lean slightly more yes than no. The rescheduled wedding is June next year (just within 12 month threshold but still waiting confirmation), so is our current best option to take the voucher due to the May 19th deadline? Thanks.
We’re getting in touch regarding your upcoming trip. We really hope to be able to fly you for it, but recognise that government travel restrictions and safety guidelines continue to evolve. As a result, we haven't cancelled your flight yet, but we do understand you might be thinking about whether or not to travel regardless.Your booking falls within one of our peak periods, so as an exclusive offer, we’re giving you the opportunity to transfer your flight to anywhere across Europe, at any time, for free. This means that with maximum peace of mind you can transfer onto any of our school holiday, public holiday or peak flights without having to pay any fare difference. If you feel unsure about committing to a specific flight right now, you can request a voucher for the full value of your flight. To thank you for choosing this option we’ll issue you with an additional £10 which you can use towards another future booking. Both vouchers will be valid for 12 months giving you plenty of time to plan. This is an exclusive offer and is valid until 19/05. Please see full terms and conditions below*1 -

EU261 Compensation Claim AssessmentClaim received: K13CX58-1971-001
Flight Number: 1971
Flight Date: 25/03/2020
Scheduled Departure Airport: MAN
Scheduled Arrival Airport: ACE
Claim decision: Declined
Decision summary: We're sorry that your flight was cancelled. Our assessment and legal team has carefully reviewed your claim and the circumstances around your flight and have confirmed that your compensation claim is not eligible for compensation payment under EU Regulation EU261/2004.It then goes on to say basically the virus is not a reason for a refund???
Is this correct?
many thanks

) but EasyJet have refunded the full amount for our holiday on our credit card, within fourteen days ( the time frame they advised us) without my having to chase them for it.
I filled in their online form and hey presto...... it worked!!
Credit where it's due, it really has been hassle free from them.
Here's a copy of the email they sent after we had filled in the online claim form:
It was for a complete package holiday ( the whole works) and I can tell you no one was as surprised as me when we got the refund so quickly and with no hassle. (I was expecting to have to chase them at least once and probably threaten all sorts.) We did pay for the whole holiday up front ( not just the deposit) although I don't know whether that would have made any difference. It was at the end of April, so perhaps a bit earlier than the main rush for holiday refunds?Dear Mr Hyde,
We just wanted to keep you up to date. Following our email of last week, over the weekend we’ve begun to process cancellations for dates which include your holiday to Split (reference: ........). You may receive several other emails related to this as these changes work their way through our systems – you can ignore these.
We’re processing refunds back to your original method of payment. These refunds will mirror the payment transactions you originally made and so the total cost may be refunded in a number of different transactions. It’s also possible that these may appear in your account on different days.
Our teams are working really hard to help as many people as they can, as quickly as they can. We’re currently working through a large number of affected bookings but we recognise that it’s important to refund your money as quickly as possible. As such, we hope that you’ll be able to see this back in your account within 14 days, though this can vary by card type and bank. If for some reason this timeframe slips significantly, we’ll be in touch. We’re really grateful for your patience and understanding.
Thanks for your continued support, and we look forward to brighter times ahead.
Your easyJet holidays team

Once the cancellation email came, we could go online and change the flights ourselvesLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Hello, due to fly to Split on 2 June and back from Dubrovnik on 13 June - two separate bookings as not a round trip. Have had the email with the offer to change to other European flights by 19 May, as above. We want to change to into Aqaba and out of Tel Aviv next March - so not Europe. I'm hoping that by waiting until cancellation I'll then be able to change to the non-European flights with no fee. I thought the 19 May cut off for a decision was due to it being two weeks before our planned departure so the point at which Easyjet will cancel - but perhaps this is not the case as others have the same date with different departures. All thoughts/comments welcome.0

I just completed the refund applications for return flights London to Seville 5 and 12 May. The 12 May was cancelled on the same day as flying, and had it not been cancelled I would have not been on it as the outward flight was cancelled!
What is concerning is their statement that refunds will be made by "the duration of the summer", however no such delay will occur for vouchers.
This may be one for resolve I fear as a long delay is unreasonable.0 -
Ah! just the wrong words? i wonder why they have sent this though as we filled in the form requesting a refund?0

All the flights are showing as 'sold out' for June now so it looks like we wont be going anywhere. Nice to know sooner rather than later, fingers crossed for a refund as I may need to sort out a new car!0
