  • According to the EasyJet website, vouchers are valid for 12 months. Does that mean I can wait, for example, until December 2020 and then use the voucher to book a flight in June 2021?

    Yes

But remember the voucher might be worthless if EJ bites the dust.

Still slightly confused with my options. EJ have given us until May 19 to decide ("exclusive offer") if we want to rebook our flights or get a voucher. The flights in question are for Jun 10 (Pisa) - assume they are trying to pressure us to go with the voucher rather than get a full refund? I would rather go with a refund (providing the flights are cancelled) but won't get confirmation they will be cancelled until a week before, if we do now nothing now and go past their May 19 voucher - are there any legal protections regarding getting a voucher?

Yes EJ wants you to  take a voucher
It's possible EJ will fly and you then can't then get a voucher.
It's also possible I will win the Lotto Jackpot, which is more likely than EJ flying to Pisa on 10th June.

Wait until nearer the time, easyJet will cancel your flight and then you can request a refund OR change to another flight, anytime, any destination

Easyjet's covid-19 refund request form is at https://www.easyjet.com/en/refund-form.
whilst they do their utmost to encourage you to take a voucher, the refund form was quick and easy to complete.  I received instant confirmation that it had been received.

    Hi
I got an email from Easyjet on 28/4/20 saying  "Unfortunately, as you have not paid the outstanding balance for your forthcoming holiday to by the due date, we will now be cancelling it. The good news is that although our booking conditions say that non-payment of balance means losing your deposit, we understand that these aren’t normal times and retaining your deposit doesn’t feel like the right thing to do."The last thing we want is to cause any additional stress, so rather than stick to our booking conditions and retain your deposit, we will be returning it in the form of a credit to your easyJet holidays account. This will be available for you to use against any future holiday bookings"

My holiday didn't seem to cancel as I could still see it on the website until I received the next email on 15/5/20 saying "We’re sorry that you've cancelled your holiday to Croatia. We can confirm that the money you've paid so far will be credited back to your online easyJet holidays account."

So the wording went from Easyjet cancelling my holiday to Myself cancelling the holiday. Just wondering if they are playing on words. It doesn't say the money is a Refund Credit Note as such, nor does it say it is a voucher. It just says it's a Credit to my account. Would this be covered by the ATOL guarantee ????    Many Thanks
  • Apologies if this has been asked already but does anyone know when Easyjet will be taking Summer 2021 flight bookings.
We're basically shifting a Greek villa holiday forward by exactly one year to the same dates next year and will be quite happy to change our exisiting EJ bookings to the same flights next year.
We could go for a refund and hope for a cheaper flight but I'm rather keen to support the airline if it means the difference between thousands of their employees losing their jobs or not.
