Out of interest I just tried rebooking the Belfast-London leg as London-Italy and whilst they will let you change route, they are charging for the difference in fares,. So no benefit at all to not cancellingbelfastgirl23 said:
Good point. My flights were returns, connecting to Italy from Belfast through LGW and the Belfast-LGW part might have been cheap. Maybe try rebooking the Italy leg for autumn and see....it is a gamble but might be worth taking just to have a hope of getting away some time this yearpeadar said:
The one thing in the email that tempted me was the apparent offer to "transfer your flight to anywhere across Europe, at any time....without having to pay any fare difference".belfastgirl23 said:Thanks so much this has been really helpful. I had an email today suggesting I either reschedule or take a voucher but crucially NOT cancelling the flights yet. Given that if you change your flights or rebook a flight with a voucher, it is NOT ELIGIBLE for refund in the future, I can’t see any reason whatsoever to reschedule or take a voucher. I and would suggest that people routinely hold out for the cancellation email and ask for a refund. I suspect they are also hoping that people will accidentally cancel the flights themselves and leave themselves invalid for a refund.
I have 4 tickets on a short and inexpensive route (£46 each return Liverpool-Belfast) but could swap them for returns to somewhere like Cyprus that cost around £400 each....if I'm reading that correctly.
Though like the vouchers +£10 it would be a gamble as, again, there's no refund for a subsequent cancellation. And I wouldn't really trust easyJet!
thanks again for the advice!
just for info. If anyone else does any better let me know! 0 -
I had a flight from Antalya to Gatwick on 17th Apr which was cancelled. While I was trying for the refund I was trying to rebook different routes on Easyjet sit and it was letting me book much more expensive flights as well without any extra charge. This was about 2 weeks back but things must have changed now. But eventually I managed to get through on the phone and have received the refund

Have flights booked for Aug as well which I will wait and watch n see what happens.....I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
Thanks for letting us know. It did seem too good to be true!belfastgirl23 said:Out of interest I just tried rebooking the Belfast-London leg as London-Italy and whilst they will let you change route, they are charging for the difference in fares,. So no benefit at all to not cancelling

Did your email also say "Your booking falls within one of our peak periods, so as an exclusive offer, we’re giving you the opportunity to now transfer your flight to anywhere across Europe, at any time...without having to pay any fare difference"?1 -
Hi
I just joined and wondered if I can apply for a refund from Easyjet for Flights and Hotel I booked on the internet all with Easyjet departure was on 21.3.2020 but I had an email saying I would get a full refund.
For the life of me, I can't find the refund form on the Easyjet website, no email, no internet chat, and sick and tired of waiting on the phone.
Any advice or guidance would be appreciated0 -
It's not on the website. It in the e-mail they give you three options (switch, voucher, refund), and provide a link for getting a refund. When you follow the link you'll find you're only presented with two options, and the refund isn't one of them.jtee747 said:For the life of me, I can't find the refund form on the Easyjet website, no email, no internet chat, and sick and tired of waiting on the phone.

Ryanair are using similar tactics and i'd be interested to know if what their doing is illegal.0 -
Yes the email does say that exactly and it’s clearly untrue. Out of interest, in case it was just to do with changing routes, I just tried to rebook this flight as a Belfast-London flight the week before Christmas - these flights also come up as requiring me to pay more money. On the app, if you select the option to change a flight, there is an ‘i’ icon that when opened says you will pay the difference in fare but won’t pay any change fees.peadar said:

So in fact this is worse again, you change your flight and potentially pay an additional fee and then can’t claim back any money in the event the airline doesn’t fly. This may be something that @MSE_Martin would want to flag more widely as it’s a terrible deal for customers. In which case TL:DR - easyJet are emailing customers about upcoming flights, offering them a chance to change their flights for free or get a voucher (still saying they hope the flight will run despite it being scheduled within the UK lockdown period). Whilst they are claiming that flights can be changed for free, once in the app they are charging for the difference in fare. The T&Cs also state that once rebooked, flights (including those paid for by voucher) will not be refunded in the event of them being cancelled.

You need to email them with details of the new flight for that "offer" to apply. not book through the website or app.belfastgirl23 said:

I have recieved the email about transferring flights for soem flights I had booked in late May and I would be interested in moving the flights to a later date. Does anybody know the answers to these questions though:
- How far in advance can you move the flights? Easyjet have currently released flights to some time in February. Are you limited to transferring the flights within the currently released flights? I would be interested in dates later than this.
- What happens if you transfer the flights and then need to transfer them again?

I put in a refund claim with Easyjet for a return flight which they cancelled due to Covid-19. I received an email last night advising that the request was declined. How can they decline it and keep money?1

I've got the same question re Easyjet, can anybody help?56645sea said:Hello sorry to jump on this thread but does anyone know if easyjet can facilitate a booking to be split. Some of my relatives on the booking made by my brother wish to change and book a later date others wish to keep original fare/flight booked and have the option of obtaining refund or voucher once the flight is cancelled? Please help anyone aware if this is possible or if similar airlines do this? Thanks
