..thoughts...yes, we don;t need yet another easyjet refund thread.
You could have added this to one of the existing EasyJet Refund threads. Here is the main one.

The trouble are there are many that have never used a forum in their life asking for advice. Having a very long thread can make it impossible for a person to find their post again and sort though many answers that are for other people.
    I don't think there is a solution

Had email from easyJet offering to change flight or voucher need to decide by 1 may the voucher valid for i year which does not help me  trying to decide whether to wait to see if they cancel my flight or do I risk loosing the cost of my return flights I really want a refund  as they not offering credit note ... any thoughts ?
Hi Judy, the refund request form is here, you can complete it as and when they cancel the flight.
The transfer offer I received was for anywhere in Europe "without having to pay any fare difference".
The small print says transferred and voucher bookings will not be eligible for a refund if the new flight is cancelled.

Thanks so much this has been really helpful. I had an email today suggesting I either reschedule or take a voucher but crucially NOT cancelling the flights yet. Given that if you change your flights or rebook a flight with a voucher, it is NOT ELIGIBLE for refund in the future, I can’t see any reason whatsoever to reschedule or take a voucher. I and would suggest that people routinely hold out for the cancellation email and ask for a refund. I suspect they are also hoping that people will accidentally cancel the flights themselves and leave themselves invalid for a refund.

I don’t like this behaviour, I understand the pressures airlines are under but it’s a dirty trick in my book. Without that condition and with a longer time frame (e.g. two years) I would have taken the voucher as I understand the need to prop up the industry.

hi,,,need a bit of advice /help,,,,, I’ve booked a package holiday with easyjet holidays,,the holiday is in Majorca going 8 June,,,I’ve paid £180 deposit, I received an email yesterday saying the balance of £1200 is due to be paid before April 14th,,,,now with all this caronaviris madness the Foreign office is saying it’s unsafe to travel,,,,I’ve tried on easyJet’s website for info,, they’re saying customers can amend and change their booking online but only if you’ve paid the full holiday amount, they’re saying as I’ve only paid the deposit they are “working on solutions for other customers”,,,,I’m wondering will I be eligible for a refund of my deposit now, or will I have to pay the full £1200 first , then wait until closer to June to see if travel restrictions still apply ,!,Then wait until easyjet cancel and then receive the full refund,,, I really don’t want to loose the £180 deposit, I really appreciate any help or advice,,,,Thanks
Hi have you had any guidance on your situation? We are in the same position. Thanks
    Hi Sam,
Yea exact same issue with me, i am due to go on a package holiday on 7 june 2020, but I reckon now with the FCO advice against travelling indefinably, I am well within my rights to take that advice and cancel the holiday myself. i have only paid the deposit but the easyjet T&C state that "  Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances significant risks to human health such as the outbreak of a serious disease at the travel destination" More importantly 5.2. In addition to the cancellation right set out above, you will have the right to cancel your booking before the start of the Package without paying any cancellation charge in the event of Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances occurring at the place of destination or in its immediate vicinity (and we have confirmed that such circumstances will significantly affect your trip or that they will significantly affect the carriage of passengers to the destination).  If you cancel in these circumstances, we will give a full refund of any payments made in relation to the booking.
What this is saying is you have the right to cancel under circumstances that the FCO is advising against indefinite travel due to serious desease.
I am going down this route if i dont get my deposit back from easyjet i will fall back on credit card and then insurance. My advice to you is to have a good look at the easyjet T and C's, and same with your insurance t and C's. My insurer Saga states that they ALWAYS take their advice based on the FCO recommendations

  • I received the Easyjet offer of voucher or transfer of a return flight dated 12 May. I got the refund link on this board (thanks!)
I expect it will take about a month for them to process the request, and by that time the flight will be cancelled by them. Has anyone had a problem asking for a refund before it's been cancelled?

The one thing in the email that tempted me was the apparent offer to "transfer your flight to anywhere across Europe, at any time....without having to pay any fare difference".
I have 4 tickets on a short and inexpensive route (£46 each return Liverpool-Belfast) but could swap them for returns to somewhere like Cyprus that cost around £400 each....if I'm reading that correctly.
Though like the vouchers +£10 it would be a gamble as, again, there's no refund for a subsequent cancellation. And I wouldn't really trust easyJet!

Hi - sorry for the new thread, but I didn't want to block up the helpline to ask a question (and their twitter hasn't replied to me in a week now) ... does anyone know if the vouchers you can receive if your flight is cancelled are exchangeable for a refund if not used?  Or do they just expire and the balance is forfeited? Should be in the small print for anyone who has accepted a voucher if they could check please?

Also - do flight-only credit vouchers have to be used on easyJet flights? Or can they be used as part payment for an easyJet package holiday?  Again maybe on the small print? Thanks if anyone can help! It might help others make that decision too freeing up the refund hotline for refund only cases.
@withaspritz hi, I wanted to know the same regarding the vouchers, did you find out the answers to your question?
Yeah, looks like there is no conversion to cash from voucher. It's a trap - avoid - stick with refunds.  Shame really as it would solve EJ's cashflow issue if their vouchers could later be converted to cash for those customers not desperate for the money like me.

I never got an answer to the holidays question - but the twitter team refer to them as "flight vouchers" so I would assume they are only redeemable for flights not holidays

Good point. My flights were returns, connecting to Italy from Belfast through LGW and the Belfast-LGW part might have been cheap. Maybe try rebooking the Italy leg for autumn and see....it is a gamble but might be worth taking just to have a hope of getting away some time this year :) thanks again for the advice!
