Hello
Reading this thread with great interest. Our Easyjet flights for next week were cancelled last night, got the email etc.
Options are to re-book onto another flight or to receive a voucher, ideally we would like a refund.
Telephoned my credit card provider this morning- they cannot help until I have evidence that Easyjet have refused to issue a refund- as it stands they have given alternative options. Then spent a couple of hours trying to speak to travel insurers but they have said a similar story re needing Easyjet to refuse a refund.
Have now been waiting to get through to Easyjet for almost 4.5 hours, on my mobile, just checking it every now and then...the songs are still playing.
The previous poster makes a good point re forbearance in these unprecedented times, however, it's hard to just sit tight and wait & see. What happens once the date of our flight passes and we've not accepted a voucher or booked onto another flight? We've got too much money tied up in flights to let it all just come out in the wash in a few months times.

No luck chasing a refund for two returns to Barcelona which EasyJet informed us we could obtain a refund on. It's reasonable to expect them to extend their deadlines if they can't cope with demand. I thought I gave them money as part of an agreement which was a contract between us. I appreciate these are challenging times for a private company as they are for individuals like myself. I don't think I should be bailing out a private company when the board of directors have pocketed so much over recent years. No doubt they will be cap in hand to the government soon but I'm sure they will line their own pockets first before meeting their obligations. Just remember who not to support with your hard earned in the future

If I can get clarification from somewhere that we can still get a refund down the line if we take a voucher and can't use it, I'm happy to go down the voucher route. For now I've emailed Easyjet asking for a refund, fully not expecting a response, purely because I think for a S75 claim (with Lloyds) we need to show that we've attempted to resolve the issue.0

I was due to fly back from Alicante on 31/3 I tried to change my flight through the app, but no flights were available. They didn't actually cancel my flight until 2 days ago. I was already home by then. I knew they would cancel it eventually. The FO advice was for all British nationals to return home. I tried calling easyjet, whilst in spain. I couldn't get through to customer service. They'd disabled the chat option as well. I had no
choice but to buy a very expensive rescue ticket through jet2. I filled in the claim form on their website last night. I think they should reimburse me for my rescue ticket, since there was no a option to change my flight and the FO advice was get home asap! It probably won't happen though, but it's worth a try!0 -
Can anyone confirm, what happens if the date for your cancelled flight passes and you have not done either of 1. re-booked onto a new flight or 2. accepted a voucher?
I have given up trying to call Easyjet, yesterday was the first time I have tried and it is impossible. Now I am trying to make contact with my travel insurer to lodge a claim before the flight date, at least then it is "in the system".
All very frustrating, but I imagine much worse if you are stuck abroad (for whatever reasons) and trying to get a flight back to the UK.0 -
I've called Easyjet today, around 08:03am UK Time, was on the line for 2 hours and 47 minutes when they finally answered, they told me they will process a refund back to the card, it would take 3-5 working days, the lady I spoke with also told me that she would send me a confirmation of this by email ... about 5-10 minutes after the phone call I received this by email:
I will let you know if I see the refund showing in the card or not.

I will keep you posted if anything changes later on today etc.0
