Norwegian Air/CashPoints or refund?

Norwooder said:Hi. We are due to fly with Norwegian on 11 July from London to Bergen. This was the outbound flight for the beginning of a 5 weeks trip through Scandanavia. We booked on 23 Feb along with other transfers / hotel stays, but had the majority of remaining accomodation, transfers and flights to book when COVID-19 started flaring up in early March. We have travel insurance in place which was taken out in February with disruption cover.
I can see the offer from Norwegan of cash points and I am considering taking this up as I am concerned that the foreign office will relax restrictions on non-essential travel just before the 11th July and we will have outbound flights but the majority of the rest of our planned trip won't be booked, and won't be able to claim on our insurance.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how best to approach this?"Conditions

They didn't specify the flight, only the booking reference, so I'm presuming it covers outbound and return. I then went onto the refund page and it asked me to click on the flights that I wish to cancel. I am hesitant to proceed as me cancelling would negate me being able to claim a cash refund. I am responding to their cancellation. There is a space to write notes so I could state that but I am hesitant. I would appreciate it if anyone who has successfully got their money back would advise which link they used and if they clicked the 'flights you wish to cancel' checkbox.
Many thanks
I also put a note in the comments section saying they had cancelled the flights and that I wanted a cash refund back to my payment card
It has not hit my Amex yet but I am keeping an eye out.0 -

I just got a cancellation txt for a flight from LA to Gatwick in mid August - when I logged into site it was just CashPoints offered. Are you calling to ask for a refund? What is the best number?
Do everything online. If you try to call they'll just send you back to the link above.0 -
The cashpoints conversion offer for future, as yet not cancelled, flights seems to have been pulled from their site. Unless I am missing something...1

I had a 15:00 flight cancelled from Gatwick to Oslo early July but was rebooked by Norwegian onto an earlier flight at 13:35. Options given for the booking are limited to either confirming the change, or to rebook on a different day. As Norway is effectively closed I will have to try their separate 'Apply for a Refund' web page. Small print in the T&Cs permits enforced schedule changes so I'm wondering whether asking for cashpoints may be more likely to give a successful outcome than the cash refund? I wouldn't get the full amount back on travel insurance so would be my least preferred option.0

I have also booked family holiday to San Francisco. I took cashpoints in July 2020 before the flight was cancelled. Like others I was advised by Norwegian Air it was the easiest way to re-book my holiday. I did book the same holiday again for August 2021. The flight was cancelled and I was informed that I could only be refunded in cashpoints. Norwegian Air are no longer flying to USA and I am stuck with a large amount of cashpoints. Norwegian Air are no longer flying to the destination I want to travel to and refuse to discuss a money refund. Like others I saved up to take my family to San Francisco for a family reunion. Any advice would be helpful.0 -
