3secondmemory said:It’s a beautiful morning here so I am going to put my phone out of the way and try and get on with something positive rather than listening to the news and reading what people are saying on other pages
It is really warm and sunny here too. I just wore a shirt as I didn't even need a jacket.7 -
I was just looking and Sainsbury's doesn't have any deliveries for three weeks and Tesco doesn't have any until the end of the month.
Oh, Ocado does next Monday. I had better book it now!2025 GOALS

My chemist has just been in touch about my repeat prescription delivery. They will no longer hand it over personally - it will be posted through the letterbox instead. I have had to confirm that there will be no risk to young children or pets in doing this. Also had a parcel delivery today with a new routine. The parcel is placed on the doorstep, delivery person knocks and then takes a couple of steps back. Customer opens door and delivery person does some sort of virus emergency alternative signature thingy on the machine.
The hospice charity shop has closed for the duration, (it is in the grounds of the hospice so is understandable). Another charity shop that has a lovely coffee shop has closed that down and also reduced their hours in the shop too. Lots of overheard anger and resentment from older people at the possibility of being told to self-isolate for a lengthy period of time.

It looks like we're all going to have to change our behaviour, so maybe older people will be less resentful. I have to say, my mum has been very compliant - my brother is on the sharp end in the NHS and she doesn't want to increase the impact on the NHS, or the worry for us. And like @MrsLurcherwalker she'd like to see her grandchildren again one day.

If we want to survive through this pandemic then we'll have to do our utmost to keep ourselves as safe as it's humanly possible to do and that means social distancing, being 110% vigilant in cleanliness particularly when we've the suspicion that outside surfaces, like doorbells, car door handles, door handles, window latches, milk bottles etc. might be possible virus carriers if an infected person may have touched them. Use gloves to pick up and deal with mail through the letterbox, use gloves to handle any supplies coming in from outside and I will use a bleach solution on tins and hard outers like strong cardboard and plastics and then leave things stood for 24 hours before handling them for storage. We will stay in but if it's safe to do so will walk in places that are unfrequented by many people at times when they're least likely to be used. We don't want covid-19 if there's any possible way in which we can avoid catching it. Hopefully there will be a vaccine in the fullness of time and expertise of management and treatment of the disease that will enable us older folks with underlying health conditions to stand a chance of surviving when we inevitably do get it in the fullness of time.
My biggest need is to hold my grandchildren and children in my arms again and tell them just how much I love them.

I'm going to catch up after Masterchef later - first though - LO chilli that was made last night. Normally it's portioned for two days, but last night decided to see if I'd notice the difference portioning for three days. All probably served in pittas (short shelf life) which I already had in vs rice (long shelf life)
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?8
