Covid-19 Isolation Support Thread

There seem to be a number of us on the OS boards who have health conditions and/or who are older for whom COVID-19 is a concern. Self-isolation seems inevitable at some point and it may be that we will feel the need to do this for several weeks or months. I thought it would be good to have a thread whereby we could offer each other support and company during this time.
People for whom the isolation period will be shorter, whether it be from a cold or a general lockdown of the UK if/when it comes and anyone with ideas on how to keep our spirits up are welcome too. We will all be affected in one way or another, so please anyone and everyone, join in - the more the merrier.

This is an excellent idea for a thread oceanspirit, thank you for starting it. I think it will also be a good place for people to just check in, so that we know they’re doing okay.10

Great idea. I'm already working from home 100% now because I can, and as it is possible it seems responsible to do that. Will be good to have company! I'll bookmark this thread.Live the good life where you have been planted.

OH and I have underlying health issues and plan to isolate as of this afternoon. We are looking at it as a bit of an adventure and an opportunity to catch up on things as we feel we have been chasing our tails with day to day things for a number of years. We had planned several trips away for this year - luckily nothing booked so no money lost - so will want to be well enough to plan those for next year instead.
For as long as our vegbox deliveries continue, we will be OK for food and will top up storecupboard items with a sm delivery as and when we feel the need. We had already embarked on a healthier eating pattern back in January before we were aware of the virus so most of our meals are based on the contents of the weekly fresh vegbox and we are hoping that by eating well and adding in some 'walks' (I use crutches and OH runs out of puff so we don't go very fast or very far!) we will srengthen our immune systems a bit. We do have some meals in the freezer and plan to cook up a few more batches this week as and when energy allows.
We enjoy a game of scrabble or two and don't have much time or energy to do that normally so it will be a great luxury to be able to indulge.

Thanks for the thread....great idea11 -
Ocean spirit.
I see this as an ideal opportunity to look at self-care and self improvement. Tbh - it’s been quite grounding for me over the winter - time to reflect and work on mind, body and soul.
Deep down I always wanted a quiet life, not bothered by anyone living on the edge of the woods, no one judging me for having feline pest control, growing herbs and botanicals.11 -

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?9 -
Im dreading it as I need to attend hospital appointments and support groups for my mental health and physical health. I need contact to keep my mind healthy but Im also in the at risk category.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.12 -
I am currently isolated as unwell, and losing my mind with boredom. There are things I could do, but anything involving not laying or sitting are just not happening at the minute. I have been watching movies. I cancelled a hosp appointment for next week but its a non urgent matter that can wait another few weeks
i hope everyone is looking after themselves xWith love, POSR11 -
I have just been going to appointments and stuff as I don't think it is practical for me to isolate at home.
I have noticed that some people are using precautions in shops today. One woman serving me was wearing plastic gloves and a man in a shop has put up a glass partition and put up a sign saying don't lean forward over the glass when you are paying for your items.10 -
