I believe if you have a tumble dryer, for clothes, the heat will kill the viruses7

I’ve had a better day today, thank goodness! I drive myself nuts at the best of times; it’s bad enough being trapped in my head- not my house too! 🤪😂😂
I need to go out tomorrow for granary bread and fresh milk. According to the village FB - all the farm shops are well stocked with normal footfall. There was a really good suggestion of a recognised symbol (something printed on a sheet of paper) that elderly vulnerable people could cook put in the window signalling that they required assistance of some sort. It’s very neighbourly around here. Lots of mature volunteers and community spirited people with heap loads of skills 😉 See who comes crying to us when they realise that we are coping quite well 😂😂 they won’t want us dying off quite so quickly when they realise that life is pretty miserable when you have no clue how to feed yourselves.9 -

I'm not going to run out of things to do. This afternoon I rebuilt the shoe rack in the porch with the help of Mrs Un so that the shoes are well away from the door & letterbox. There's also space for a gorilla tub into which we can dump dirty stuff for a few days quarantine
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?9 -

I wish I had a sewing machine – I can think of so many things I would like to make that will be practical! 😃8 -

I have noticed that some people are using precautions in shops today. One woman serving me was wearing plastic gloves
Had to fire off an email of a complaint yesterday to Waitrose. Was going to their cafe for coffee and cake and went to wash my hands first - no soap or hot water in the ladies loo! Told manager but thought it worth a shout out to their head office.10 -

I would like to join your cheery little corner, but feel disenfranchised as I do not feel in control of my choices.... in short, I am a lodger in the house of somebody whose adherence to any advice is nil.
I moved in 1 January, a lodger in a house where I immediately spotted I couldn't/didn't want to use the kitchen as there was literally "stuff everywhere, perpetually" and no housework's done in there, ever. It then got worse as the LL popped off to those faraway lands where it all started, then hurriedly returned home once the SHTF over there and flights started to be cancelled. From that moment on I have distanced myself entirely from the shared kitchen absolutely. No food is stored there (except half a dozen things in the freezer I am forcing myself to eat by entering the kitchen once a week for 3-4 minutes to nuke something)... once it's empty that's it.
Originally I was feeding myself by treating myself to an all you can eat breakfast, or going to a chippy, or wandering in a supermarket and getting something "to eat now" from the chiller. These activities have, as you can appreciate, stopped.
I bought myself a "secret kettle" kept in my room. I am mostly eating dry flatbreads and pot noodles. I don't have the space for stockpiling and I believe things will sort themselves out supply wise shortly, so there's no need.
I envy those who have a home of their own, where they make choices/decisions, where they can store food (fridge/freezer) as they choose and where they can cook food and wash up
So please, don't go telling me you're "bored"12 -
