I have not worked with "Cronto image" before but it seems to me it is like "QR" code where you scan the Cronto image shown on the desktop using your mobile scanner to open online banking ??colsten said:
The "View new app via desktop" is available to me, in Google Chrome, as of a minute ago, and I can do everything (and more) I can do in the mobile app. See screenshot below. I suppose they should call it "Use new app...." rather than "View new app......."adindas said:

I wonder why do they need a separate app for this ? Why is not just incorporated in their existing mobile banking Apps.
I am not sure what you mean by "....why do they need a separate app for this. Why is not just incorporated in their existing mobile banking Apps" - can you elaborate?
Like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fafk9arNzHw
If so the verification could actually be built inside the mobile banking apps. No need a separate verification apps.

Have you considered offering your services to Al Rayan's IT department?adindas said:I have not worked with "Cronto image" before but it seems to me it is like "QR" code where you scan the Cronto image shown on the desktop using your mobile scanner to open online banking ?? My understanding is that the new "verification-for-desktop-access" app addresses, for some of the bank's customers, one of the perceived problems of the fully-featured smartphone app which demands a relatively recent smartphone running at least Android8 (or IOS) - the new verification app needs only Android 4.1 as the minimum.adindas said:

[I'm still failing to get the HardToken device to activate - I suspect I'm eventually going to have to admit defeat and call the support line....]

You might just as well get on with it - I was eventually put in touch with the Digital Banking Team and managed to register the pesky thing.
Mind you, I haven't had another go since......

My App still keeps shutting down. Does anyone else get that problem? I've added myself to their callback list hoping that will avoid a loooooooooooong support call wait
Retired 1st July 2021.
This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0 -

They have made further changes to the app - it is now possible to set up more than 2 future-dated payments. Whilst this is more time-consuming to set up than a Standing Order, the end result is the same.
I have set up 12 future-dated payments to my current account, and will do the SOs to the actual target accounts as SOs from my current account. It still wasn't possible to do this from the desktop version of the app, but it worked ok in the mobile version.

the authenticator app for IOS looks to be available now on the apple app store
i haven't tried it yet tho, still hoping the hard-token device i requested a couple of weeks ago will arrive soon1 -
Thanks for the heads up. I have decided not to try the authenticator as I fear it may interfere with my Al Rayan app, which has been working well for a few weeks now. Someone posted earlier that they were told you can't have both, the app and the authenticator, and the authenticator EULA says that you should uninstall it from your device if you are able to access the Al Rayan services through a phone or a tablet.d63 said:the authenticator app for IOS looks to be available now on the apple app store
