Morning - hope everyone is safe and warm in this awful weather. We have been exceptionally lucky so far in that the worst of the weather has missed us for both weekends although it has been very rainy - much to the disgust of my feline friends who desperately want to be out and about and seem to be under the impression that if it's raining out back it may not be raining out front so they had better check both doors every time.
Bagged a nsd yesterday where I went a bit domestic goddess and spent the day, cleaning, cooking and making blankets. It would be lovely to do more of that, but I do really love my job (much more than baking cookies).
Doing my daily habit tracker to make sure I eat well, stay hydrated, check the budget and don't spend mindlessly. Debt payment was going well, but I'm expecting another costly trip to the vet tomorrow with the uninsured naughty tortie. Nothing I can do about that though, it's part of the responsibility of being a pet owner - but the amount of cash she has cost me over the years is well into the thousands - good job I love her so much.
Today I'm off to visit my mam for our fortnightly catch up. Looking forward to that. Also looking forward to not having to get up for school in the morning. I have replaced one unpleasant experience with a much worse one as me and the kids will be at the dentist first thing
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning folks!
Thanks for the well wishes for OH. He started getting himself quite distressed yesterday afternoon and he was that unwell that despite my opinion that it was bad flu, I rang 111 for him. They wanted him to go up to the walk in centre at one of the local hospitals so we had to get a cab up there (I really should start driving again. Would have saved us over £30). Poor chap was lying shivering (with a temperature) on a bed in one of the consulting rooms for 3 hours before being seen. I really felt for the staff though. The lady on the desk said she'd never seen it so packed. They also let me use the phone at reception because I forgot my mobile in the rush.
Upshot is that he probably has flu, but def has a throat infection and has been given a 10 day course of penicillin. His fever broke in the night finally so I'm hoping he'll start feeling a bit better. Can't say much for myself though as I've had 2 bad night's sleep! I've stayed off work today to look after him (and me!)
Have a good one all

Morning allIt is still raining heavily here, though without the frighteningly high winds we had yesterday. Just wish it would stop for a while! No point trying to take the dog out until it stops, but I ought to get off my behind and find something productive to do I suppose! Only breakfast, coffee, and a bit of tidying so far, but hey, it is Sunday. I would like to have a go at tidying the garage, but don't fancy getting drenched walking down there. Will have a go at the conservatory instead!I will also:Continue eating up bits from the fridge. I have ham, tomato and grated cheese for a toastie for lunch, and beef stew for dinnerFind more breakfast fruit in the freezer, I think there is a little more in there.Work on shopping list, though I won't be going todaySort out some items to take to my sales unit tomorrowList a couple more things on ebayLook for a clothes brush online - not sure what happened to mine - I suspect OH used it for something non clothes related!Walk dog when it stops raining, whenever that is!Light the stove later, and I will be keeping a kettle on top for 'free' hot waterCheck banks and update spreadsheetContinue using up a small bottle of strangely scented herbal bath product that DD gave me, only a little bit left now. OH and I usually share the same bath water (with me going in first, obviously) and he likes bubbly baths, so I usually add bath foam instead of this stuff that just turns the water blue and smells odd. However, as there is just me atm, I am using up the blue stuff to get rid of the bottle from the bathroom shelf!8

Morning everyone
Haven't had chance to get on all week and just had a catch up.
DNMS- congratulations!
CLF- i hope Mr Fanta is feeling better
CCL- naughty tortie again!! There is always one cat that costs a fortune, but they are worth every penny for sure
Ally-many thanks for all of the guidance tips u put up about the new site. They have come in very handy
The weather here is settled at the minute so i will pop out in a minute to get a couple of bits including t-bags which i will not forget again
DD brought some chicken home with her, big packs of fillets she had picked up reduced and shoved in her freezer back at uni. The 2 packs she brought home were still frozen solid, but decided to use one pack. Along with left over bendy veges and other reduced bits, the chicken fillets have been put to very good use so apart from cat food and t bags nothing else will be needed.
Have had extra spends. DD has a landmark birthday coming up. Gave no ideas of what she wanted. Had bought presents but have bought some extra ones as she has mentioned them (using discount codes where possiblei think DD would be disappointed if i didnt. I thought i was a bargain hunter but DD is even worse and monitors her pennies very carefully)
Still amazingly up to date with paperwork and have just took on an increased workload bec of specialised knowledge in one area. Feel like years of studying and courses have paid off with the knowledge and i actually know what im talking about for a change
Banking checked all week-everything good. Must make some phonecalls to do some d.debit switching tomorrow.
Rm surveys have been completed.
Have been picking up bits to do some 'bags of education' and Christmas shoeboxes. It looks like we might lose another shop in town- The W@rks. It the cheapest place to get things for my boxes and the bags. Our town will resemble ghost town at this rate.
Hve a great day everyone and stay safe x

Hi thankful for ds(17) who went to a b'day party last night, had 1 beer, I picked him up at 12, and by 7.30 he had disappeared again as he was off to his training session. As we discussed yesterday - the money I pay for his sport is the best ever, as I rarely have to tell him off - he's too busy doing sport to get into trouble (and th really help at home or do much homework!)
Also grateful for french teacher coming tonight to stay for 4 nights, as will be interesting and pay a little contribution to holiday fund. Later I will pick up other ds from train to save him money and to see a free exhibition. Only cost will be driving and possibly parking.
Had long conversation w sister and Easter trip is now converted to day trips, one will be mountain biking, hiking and a day trip to London. So all is good and all is getting closer to staying on budget.
Have a lovely Sunday, weather should calm down by midday, and we don't seem to have had any damage around here this time.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

- Car cambelt £300-£400 N - Urgent
@ditty1234 That sounds expensive to me, I would say no more than £275-£325 for sure. I have used WhoCanFixMyCar.Com a few times. You type in your registration number, 'cambelt', your postcode and contact details local garages will email you with quotes. (Link) (Link2)Or you could buy the cambelt yourself and then find a garage to fix it. Some garages make a profit on selling you the parts. EuroCarParts will give you up to 45% off your first purchase of some parts with the code LOVE50. (Link)Also this is assuming that you definitely need a new cambelt. Is it definitely that bad? Some garages will recommend replacing it after x-number of miles regardless of its condition. Halfords will check for you for free.
