- DS £70 + rest of B'day gift £30 - how old is DS? Can part of his gift be deferred?
- Sister for name change on Christmas tickets £230 - as Purps said, if it was the retailer that was at fault, is there any way you can argue the toss? Can you argue it anyway as unreasonable charges? I wonder if MSE has a template for this
- Last payment on ds training camp £200 - Will they take part now and part next month perhaps?
- Upcoming bills:
- Car cambelt £300-£400 N - Urgent - def urgent as a new car is more expensive! How many miles has it done since the last cambelt change? They normally recommend 65k
- £200 for Easter holiday - only you can decide on this
is it close enough that you could join your sister for a day instead?
- Life in UK test £50 towards citizen plan N - bl00dy brexit
- Old country passport £150 (incl train ticket to embassy) N
- Half term trip to London w boys £70 (train, exhibition and meal deals) - again, poss lower priority, but your decision
Have you checked for best deals on train tickets (split tickets? family rail card?). Poss take a packed lunch. Museums often have a picnic area.
- Paint for dining room £18 - poss could wait although it's a small outlay. I would look on Freegle as ppl are often giving away paint
- So there you have it £1416

Happy Valentines folks!
I hope those of you who are in couples are having a nice evening and those of you who are single are too!
Poor OH has suddenly gone very poorly in the last couple of hours and has taken himself to bed with a raging temperature. I had best not get it!! Had enough of being ill!!
Not much doing chez Fanta. OH fancied a FandB breakfast for Valentines. We had it and it was horrible. Blimmin cold too. They knocked a good chunk off the bill though. Then to mil's. Used her shower and bath, and cooked the chook in her oven.
I'm going to sit with a nice cup of tea now, some Victorian farm and my crochet. And check OH every so often.
Have a good evening all

My sister lives in 'other country' so sort of want to do a trip while she is visiting for a week. If we go the activity will be hiking and we will cook food ourselves etc. But for now the decision is deferred :-)

Hi La E hope that little poppet is still adorbs
purps nice one re the PPI. CCL re the tax I got PPI for a number of loans/credit card but I can't remember which ones would it be easy enough to find out?
CLF wanted to say re allotment don't sweat it at the moment. March and April are great for digging over. The soil is just right and you find you'll get loads down. I can do mine in a couple of days at the right point in spring whereas now I just get a titchy square done
Small things today:
* all meals from stores - had fruit salad and quark for snack as fruit and quark needed using
* talked oh out of take away
* have been toiling away at repairing a much loved jacket of oh's for valenbirthary. It has been so much work! But think the effort was appreciated
* cleaned (I love it!)
* put washing on line and it dried
* went out for walk to the allotment
* NSD
That'll do me. Take care y'all

Morning
trying to work out if I'm going to go and do park run. Weather sounds windy! (eta decision made will go for local run rather than driving to the next town. Only 6 or 7 miles but still!)
This morning I woke up at 6.30 and came d/s and did some sewing - made 2 scrunchies for madam using some scrap fabric. I wanted to use my new piece of kit oh bought me - an extension table for my machine. I LOVE it
Today not much on until this evening when we go out for a meal to celebrate oh's birthday
* breakfast was ys bread
* download running podcast to keep me pumping away at a stead rate
* lunch will be a use up affair
* load of washing. Might hang it on the line if it's not forecast to rain as it's blowing up a storm out there!
* go collect pup after run
* do some more work on oh's jacket
* repair 2 jumpers. 1 has hole in elbow so need to do a patch and the other I need to replace the arm cuffs. Both 15 min jobs but they've been sitting on my side for far too long!
* madam's homework for the hols is to make a crown so will get crafty later
* TOMM Friday focus - didn't do it yesterday. I want to wash down our front door on the o/s and sweep out there
* listen to audio book while working
Ok that's all for me I think. I might go to Lidl as need some soya milk and tuna. Will depend on what the weekend offers are...
just checked out the offers and I don't think I'll bother...
Hope you all have a great weekend

Ditty - I had a radical thought re Ry4n poop air. Knowing them, would it actually be cheaper to buy new tickets than to change the names?LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.317

Morning all
Poor Mr Fanta has had a horrible night and still has a temperature. I feel quite sorry for him but he better not pass it to me! I had quite a disturbed night because he was moving about. I'm waiting for the gas man this morning (not sure what he's booked for though). Just sitting with my crochet and watching a River Cottage dvd that I seem to remember a recipe that I want for this week. Tried looking online but can't find it.
Then I need to strip the chicken and play some freezer tetris, while forcing OH to drink some water every so often. Poss have an afternoon nap too.
Thanks for your nive words re the allotment DNMS. It's really against my personality not to go full on with a new project so having to do a little at a time and be patient isn't my forte! I'll call it a learning curve!
Have a good one all

Morning allHad a good night's sleep, so the new mattress appears to be a success. Dog declined to join me as that would have meant leaving his spot by the wood stove 😄I got up and took the dog out straight away as heavy rain is forecast for later. It is already pretty windy. I have no intentions to go anywhere else today, apart from another short dog walk if there is a break in the weather - short dog does not like bad weather generally, and doesn't 'do' rain, so no chance of a decent hike! Managed a quick second walk, then popped back out to buy a TV mag from the corner shop. Got wet on the way back from the dog walk, and wetter on the way to the corner shop and back (only about 5 minutes walk each way)DD will probably bring the kids round, so no point in planning much in the way of housework. DD decided to stay at home as the weather is so bad.I have a couple of parcels to pack DoneA RM survey item to post (must do that in a minute) Done, also prepped items for the coming weekPackage up duvets and pillows that seem to be everywhere. Why do I seem to have so many? Done, all put awayCleaned bathroom, did a load of washing, put more stuff awayFood will be stuff I already have made in the fridge, though I will probably cook pasta for the kids (one of the few things they will reliably eat, pasta with just frozen mixed veg. Strange, but reasonably healthy I suppose). Only me, so just fridge bits. It is amazing how little one person eats!Ought to list some things on ebay, though I am struggling with motivation for this atm Listed 2 items, which, if they sell, will work towards my decluttering goalsWeather is truly awful, horrible sideways rain with sleet in it that hurts your face when you are out in it, and really strong wind. Now sat in front of wood stove, got the kettle on for free hot water later.CLF, hope your OH is better soon and you don't catch whatever it is he has got!
