What small DFW things will you do w/c 10/02?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Good morning Ziggy and thanks. First MSE act of the week was making lunch and planning dinner based on whats in the fridge, after not doing a weekly shop this weekend. Later I might have to do a half weekly that will get us through to the weekend. I don't think I can squeeze an other set of lunches out of the fridge without getting objections!
Second MSE act today was getting a lift with my car share to work.
I think thats a good start for a Monday morning.

Morning all,
Thanks for this weeks thread Ziggy.
Ditty, you're sounding brighter this morning.
Todays list
Call into aldee with list - just the things I need to get through to Friday when we go away ✅
Pick up prescriptions for dh & ds2✅
Put a beef casserole into the slow cooker - add in any stranglers from the veg drawer✅
My dad came and I helped him put more roofing felt on the garden shed that came off in the storms. Luckily I had everything we needed for the job in the garage so no extra expense.
✅✅
Check banking/update spreadsheet ✅
Continue logging in my food diary ✅
Check £co/tcb
Put washing away from the airer ✅
Sew up a hole in ds2s coat when he comes home
Make families lunches for tomorrow ✅
Bulk cook leek and potato soup using the ys leeks I picked up on Friday ✅
That's my starter. Take care all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hi all and hope you survived the weather!
Various tasks for this week
Pay 100 to family member re a loan. First of many payments but I’d rather do it 100 at a time as I (gradually) accumulate it, than make them wait years for a lump sum. (DONE)
See what’s left for this month and divide it up into the remaining amount of month :-) I’m so new to this, that this idea seems revolutionary. (DONE -I will make it, but only just as forgot some bills are still to go out. )
Plan half term activities. Not going away anywhere but will try to do specific stuff so we don’t spend the days doing Tesco and looking at phones. I only have 3 days off and have a scan on one of them but will try to make it all as fun as poss. (£70 for trips to two things, and we MUST bring our own drinks etc)
Meal plan (This is going BADLY. Bought lamb Saturday for hotpot in the week and must have misread date as it ended Sunday!!! So annoying as I never lash out for lamb. Ended up getting KFC one night after a last minute school disco dress outing (Don't ask) and ding eals the next on the same mission. BIG FAIL).
Keep food diary to try to see if what I’m eating is contributing to this ongoing health thing. (Hmmn must fill it in).
Do homework given by therapist. Maybe it’s helping, I’m not sure. I only really feel mentally well when physical symptoms subside so that’s not a ringing endorsement.
Feeling more positive about money this week. Can it be right that I will easily make it to the end of the month? Feel sure I’ve forgotten something. (I HAVE forgotten something - that Virgin still want a minimum payment of £74 even though I've paid them £50 this month already, and Halifax 0% offer is over so I'm now being charged 50 quid interest a month. I have no offers anywhere to move money around so am suck on both fronts. Boo. But all I can do is stick to the plan and they will reduce, but more slowly than planned. Keep watching for 0% offers).
Might put car service off til March. I have 100set aside for it but might use that for half term things instead. (Will definitely need that 100 to get to end of month.)
Having no access to credit (because deliberately reduced credit limit on cards as they are paid off) is actually quite liberating. There’s no more cash so this is it. Makes it much easier to say no. (Except that with no offers I cant move money between my cards to pay less interest. On the other hand, they can't charge me a 3% transfer fee so swings and roundabouts).

PEAK Dec 2019: £24,273 -- NOW Virgin £2377 Markses £681 Halifax £6143 Loan £6696 Family loan £5819 TOTAL: £21,706 -- Paid off: £2308. Target: Jan 2023 LBM: monthly pay but weekly spend doh December 2020 target = £18212 and nothing added to CCs AND by paying an extra 20 a month on something I just knocked 8 months off my target date :-)11 -
What's with this weather? So far we've had bright sunshine, torrential rain and hail!!Should have started work at 11:30, through to 6pm today - but they're short staffed this evening so asked if I could do 2:30 to 9 instead. Then we remembered I have a client coming to see me at 2, so now I'm doing 2 to 9. That's 30 minutes of overtime people!! More days more dollars...No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...11
