Is it causing any problems at the moment. Our decking was high because it was built on the existing path but we left a gap between the wall and the decking and it didn’t seem to cause any problems. Also it would make a difference if it was solid v cavity wall. Perhaps have a look on your old house uk - repair and conservation group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1023449561785486/RHemmings said:
At the back, my house has two lines of blue-painted bricks which looks like a feeble attempt to hide the fact that the decking at the back has breached the damp-proof course. Should I have that paint removed, or will the wall as a whole breathe if only two rows of bricks are painted?Green_hopeful said:
Painting the bricks is a dreadful idea. Bound to cause problems with them. The link shows that it isn’t even evenly painted.markin said:Around 2-4 Random houses per street in this area have turned Black

The amount and size of the radiators probably points to the house construction having all the insulative properties of tissue paper.Green_hopeful said:https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/146250863#/?channel=RES_BUY Some fantastic features. I thought it was worrying that children clearly had lived in that house- before I saw the graffiti and Googled. That makes it even worse. I hope that he has no contact with children or teens now.Abbafan1972 said: I
Yes I have looked at the Google streetview image with the Graffiti and found the online newspaper article which explained it all. I just needed to satisfy my curiosity.RHemmings said:
I never thought that so many houses would have been knocked down to make the newbuild estate. Looking at 2012 shows that, as you point out. I wonder if there was something structurally wrong with them.Patr100 said:
Look at Google streetview for Sept 2022 and you can see the extent of the graffiti and exactly what it said.ManuelG said:Abbafan1972 said:

I suspect there is a very sad story or stories behind all this.
I was trying to work out what it said and if it gave a clue as to the reason for saleAbbafan1972 said:

I wont repeat it or screencap to post the image.
It was boarded up by August 2023 .
The row of houses opposite were completely replaced with a new estate of houses.
Again, it was a surprise to see what the graffiti was. That puts quite a different context on things. I'm not saying the accusation in the graffiti is true or not - I don't know. But, just that it was put onto the house... that in itself raises various scenarios.
EDIT: There is something in the local paper which provides context for the graffiti.0 -

I hope they got the necessary permissions to use the outbuilding as sleeping accommodation. They only refer to a "detached studio / annex"Ocelot said:Quite a spectacular outbuilding(s) (pic 9 and 17 onwards):
