It’s odd for something to be quite so ‘frozen in time’. Perhaps they had a Premium Bond win, furnished in the latest fashion, only the best of everything, and then never had the capital again? I'm sure they were happy. Even with funds if you have good stuff I don't see why you would want to change it. We were forced to get rid of our early 80's microwave last year when we moved to a house with an integral one which, despite being a supposedly good make, is not a patch on it. Our philosophy back in the day was always to save up, buy the best and stick with it but unfortunately that just isn't possible anymore as nothing is made to last.3

I think they maybe need to embrace the concept of cupboards and their usefulness too. I love the terracotta warrior trying to hide from the camera.
I'm looking to totally re-do my bathroom and want something different from what everyone else is doing - with a bit of colour and personality - but that's perhaps too much personality even for me.1
