NSD No 10
So wet and windy here today but nothing like the rest of the country apparently so I hope you are all inside warm and dry.
I've been pottering away. Washing done and drying upstairs. Curry made for tomorrow's dinner and making a pork fillet, mushroom and cream sauce and rosti potatoes for dinner tonight. Well, not actually making the rostis - bought them while they were reduced at Aldi. I think actually making them is a bit too taxing and probably beyond my capabilities.
Himself and I have spent the day watching history documentaries on TV whilst enjoying some of the lovely sparkly wince given to me by a neighbour. We haven't done this for ages - very enjoyable.
Keep safe everyone.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
SO I'm on 8 NSD. Spent yesterday on haircut, some parking (had 2 hours free, but stayed 2h, 45 min), some L1ndt chocs for OH (literally just a handful from pick n mix) and some knickers from Debnums - all non matching, but I paid £11 for 5 pairs in the clearance which included 2 pairs which were originally £15 each! (Janet Reger, I think). Much needed!! I am permitting myself that as a clothes spend this month, as I think I have now doubled my number of wearable (normal) knickers as opposed to too small ones or not-really-everyday-type ones!!!
Today's spending was at Tesc0 - was crazily busy, but we needed milk, bread (I really fancied a granary loaf and had no granary flour left), fruit and veggies and yet more cereal (esp with it being half term - the boys will graze on it as snacks - DS2 (14) is especially hollow-legged at the mo!
Have totally lost some fencing today. We need to replace min 5 panels/ 3 posts - but not likely to be able to do that until April, looking at expected storms to come/ plans already in place for some of March. We now have an open-plan garden from the rear to front - and I feel very exposed as a result..... Still, it could be a lot worse!
Grateful for: a warm and dry house, making yummy food from things hanging around in freezer/ cupboards, CH (keeping us warm and drying the laundry!), a small flebay sale (money in: things out)

Thank you so much for all the hugs, I'm going to sleep surrounded by them. Woke reasonably early, took my pills and read my book but then started to drift off so put on my mask and put the phone next to me. Drain man phoned about 20 to 12 to say he would be here in fifteen minutes so pulled clothes on ,sat down to rest, got myself downstairs, rest, put all four bins outside in the backs, rest, let man in and then picked up various things in the yard (thrown about by Clare).Fairly simple to unblock and he thought we didn't need the camera (will if it blocks a third time) so although not thrilled cost was much less than it could have been. Doing well on using up/ recycling etc. Had a shower and dressed, took a bag full of bags and bubble wrap to the YMCA cs (asked yesterday if they wanted them). Have checked my library account and renewed one that is due Monday (coincidentally just found it under the bed with the aid of a walking stick), put away my suitcase, stripped the duvet cover off.Checked my bank account and have definitely reached my first target (even allowing for today's payment and the energy dd which will be coming out). I think it being a council tax 'free' month helped (thanks to whoever mentioned it). I try to forget about the free months and count DS3 as making monthly rent payments so the thirteenth (he actually pays 4 weeks at a time) is a bonus - saving without knowing it.Did mum's landlord insurance last night and will be wrking on getting nearer to being 'paperless'. Difficult with mum as she tends to save everything that comes through the door and then hands me piles of stuff but working hard at putting official addresses in the right notebooks and not keeping random letters and receipts - discard the monthly ones when the next one comes - tried to explain to mum that each one acts as a receipt for the last one as if anything was outstanding it would be shown.Emptied the carrier bag of paper from yesterday into the blue bin and found my paper sack (also under the bed - think some things were by the bed but have been pushed under by the sheer volume of 'other stuff'.Today I am grateful for the drains being sorted (again) - first step to getting the yard how I want it, for making progress whilst continuing to rest, for my eye not hurting (started wiping it with boiled water and cotton wool and although it's still sore the stabbing pain has gone)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10

NSD8 in the bag - ha ha! not even made it out of my dressing gown. It has rained quite regularly all day long, and about 2ish got very windy. After lunch we decided to play The Business Game (mine a million) which is full of oil derricks, lorries, barges, pirates, bandits, catastrophes and explosions. 5 of us played for nearly 5 hours and none of us were close to anything but bankruptcy for most of it. Put Kerrang! radio station on't tv for a bit of 'different music' and we all rocked out to 90s metal and grunge. I think it is so sad that music gig prices have risen so much, don't even start me on seated gigs. The wind is howling down my chimney right now. Sounds like someone blowing across the top of a bottle. All food from stores - curry for lunch (yum) with lentil doughnuts, and hummus, pickles and pittas for supper (it was quick). 3 beds stripped and remade, will do the other 2 tomorrow. This stupid cough is annoying. When I am not coughing I feel totally fine, for hours, really, properly hours where I can run up and down stairs, cook, clean, bend, and then I will spend 5 minutes solidly coughing, sounding like I am at death's door and a TB case, and then I am fine again unless I try to go to sleep. Utterly ridiculous. Going to finish another book tonight, might watch Star Trek: Picard, and try not to notice dh clenching every time the wind gets louder out there. Looks like turning proper nasty tonight. Tuck up tight Turtles4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Lots of love mothernerd - pleased you're feeling a little better and that the drains are sorted again.
Hope you're feeling a bit better today f0xh0les.
I had a day of nothing much yesterday, which I loveddoing the bare minimum, preparing food and catching up on crochet. It was everything that I needed. Still stressed out by my lack of money but now on top of that I am about to get another vet bill. I love my kitties but the naughty tortie seems to cost as much as the house!

Good morning folks!!!
Sorry I've been MIA again. Seems to be a mid-month pattern for me
Had a busy week, and a busy Friday and Saturday with family, so just having a much needed rest day and re-charge. I've accumulated another 2 NSDs since my last post...
Today = NSD number 9
Hugs to folks who are feeling under the weather. Hoping you are on the mend soon. I'm under those wagon wheels again <as in fallen off it and got run over by it!>. Was doing really well with my mindfulness and missed 2 days and broke my run streak. Not exercised and been living off toast! So - sitting down today and re-evaluating my self-care!!!
Managed to chip a bit more off the debt mountain after sorting out my finances this week, but need to tighten my belt from now until pay day. Am going to start running my cupboards and freezer down - no more food shops if I can help it now.
Today I am grateful for:
1) A day off to myself to catch up and recharge
2) My family - for having them around and making the most of the time I have with my parents
3) My good health and mobility
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday people⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Afternoon Turtles! Well the wind has died down here, but it is wet, so staying in and keeping my NSD #9 . Made a roast for lunch - all veg and stuffing. Mashed celeriac is nice... who knew? Anyway, stuffed them full of vitamin veg and am feeling smug. Some of them even had the carrot and swede mash. Lots of laundry has been done. Had an awful night last night coughing, but am fine again during daylight hours. DS1 is threatening to make peanut butter cookies this afternoon. I have huge doubts they will appear. There will be a shake for supper.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
