Whoops, it's been a while since I checked in here. I've had a spendy few days, but hopefully some of the things I've done will lead to a more prosperous future...... fingers crossed! I'm still at only 3 NSDs for the month! But I have made some sales on ebay to clear out the wardrobe a little more.
Still need to check in on those CD's and DVDs and have a clear out though. I will revisit the first post again tomorrow to see how I'm getting onhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6086606/debt-free-by-23/p1

It's been a little while since checking in! Sorry about that. We're now at 9/15 NSDs.Today I am thankful for a warm risotto, finally sorting out the Important Documents box and Little Flappette enjoying museli.Mortgage free by 33 - (21/07/22 - 32 years and a bit...)
Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)8 -
My post doesn't seem to have posted. In brief, went with mum to her district nurse appointment and now booked in for twice a week until March 5th. Dropped off in the town centre and spent the afternoon resting (Cough has returned and both mum and I have sore throats).Mum wants to give some money to various grandchildren. DS1 and DS2 both owe me money so I'm getting their shares (discussed with mum). This means I will achieve my first financial target (minimum amount I would want in my bank account at all times) in the next couple of weeks and can start saving for repairs and renovations (mainly the kitchen, making the changes I need now - better lighting and will need in the future - oven is on it's last legs but need to consider a built in that opens at waist height).Have put some money in my bank account and £20 into the penny challenge tin (ticked off relevant days). Bought some food that will go with what I have in - easy meals for the next 3 days or so (had tinned rice pudding yesterday and it was so lovely - warm, comforting, easy to eat).Today I am grateful for the croci in the churchyard, satisfying, comforting food (easy to make as still not great at standing up for too long) and time to rest and recuperate. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9

NSD yesterday - can't remember if that means I'm on 7 or 8 - will go back and check later. Won't be one today, as am having my hair cut and may get some groceries
Grateful for : long afternoon nap (much needed), having things in to make yummy rice pudding, getting to the next stone down in weight loss, watching birds in the garden

Because from your stories, it seems your DS1 and DS2 do not feel an urgency to repay their loan to you.I have lost track of my NSD's; I think I'm on 8/20. I have tried reading back through the thread, but I cannot find my own posts easily. I'll join again next month, and keep track in my signature. Tonight will probably be a spend night, although the money I am willing to spend on the church's Cheese-and-Wine evening is already set aside since 1 Feb (entry fee: €14 + €7 + €7, drinks 6 x €1.50), I will probably buy up some leftovers (cheese, cold meat, soft drinks). Or would this count as a spend anyway? (New to the challenge

Grateful for:- strong will to not give into buying snacks when out shopping for cheeseandwinenight- dds growing up happily- enough money in our budget to allow for the occasional night out or treat without stressing (I've known different times....; it's what built the strong will in point 1).Selfcare:- not buying snacks- picking out fancy festive earrings for tonight's cheeseandwinenight- listening to some relaxing musice (for me, that's rock music; I recently bought the Rod Stewart unplugged cd in a charity shop for €1 and am loving it!)

greent - what sort of rice did you use for your rice pudding? I used to buy flaked rice and make it in a pan when the kids were small but you don't seem to be able to get that anymore.Stripping the beds today and may try getting the sheets on the line in the sunshine. Will wash the floors and generally make sure everything is cleaned and ready for the weekend. Walked the dog for 7 miles yesterday so I didn't bother running or cycling, I think I may do some yoga today - I will follow someone on Youtube as it is a long time since I did any.DD has her first proper date tonight. She is going to the cinema and out for something to eat, we are dropping them off and the boys mum is bringing them home. I am a bit stressed about them being at one of these out of town complexes on a Friday night but they have to start being independent at some point.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I just realised I have to pay for parking tonight, b****r! So, I made most of the spend-day by paying dds' tennis club memberships today. This means: a discount for paying before 15/2 AND a 50% discount for only becoming a member specifically for the summer camp; total savings: 2x€35! I'm planning on paying the summer camp before 1 March, which means another 2x€10 discounted. The summer camp, which would have cost €200/each, will now cost €155/each.

@dolly84 Adrienne on YT is good. Thanks for the reminder I need to do this too.
Ive not checked in for a few days. Another NSD yesterday which I think takes me to 6 or 7.
Other good things happening. Continuing to use up cleanser, toner and moisturiser. Ran out of cotton wool, looked to buy some reusable and whilst they would be beneficial in the long run, just can’t afford the outlay at the moment. I’ve lots of muslin cloths, thinking of cutting them up to use instead. Will do one and see where I get to.
Taking smalls out on a breakfast date tomorrow. Shouldn’t be pricy as we’ve chosen somewhere sensible.
Gratefuls this week:
slippers, wonderful family, feeling well, getting more than 7000 steps a day, smalls excellent parents evening.8 -
NSD 7 for me, feeling awful and coughing all over the place, roll on 4.15 when the school run is over, at least I can get rid of another bag of books - catch and release scheme- back into the charity shop world. Easy supper of veggie burgers, their own body weight in ketchup and wedges, coleslaw and salad for tea tonight. My romantic plans tonight include Richard Osman's House of Games, The News Quiz, a hot bubble bath and not coughing all night long.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
