It's very blowy here too today! It's not difficult!

If I started once I started a dozen times to write here yesterday but one or other small person needed my attention or I had to intervene on them trying to kill each other!
so fingers crossed that I have a moment of peace, even if it does mean that I have succumbed to gadgets.
my new mini sofa arrived a day late, yesterday at a few minutes past 7 in the morning.
closely followed, literally, by the shed. The lorries were queuing up outside the door.
The weather was not as bad as the day before and before DS brought the boys home I managed a few hours cutting out mask backs, using my rechargeable Rotary cutter ( from the DIY tools at Aldi).
102 backs to go with the fronts that had been cut out last time we were batch cutting.A quick walk to the coop for lunch things and some Tonic water.Once the boys were home I didn't get very much done. Put away some clean clothes, hung up more wet. Succumbed to tumble drying towels and just dealt with children.'
They were not tired at bedtime and it was a case of who could wear granny out first. Over 20 visits to the bedroom later....
I spend the rest of the evening lost on Pinterest!
I am driving the boys over to their Nanny today as her car has died a death, so finally I have the address of her yard which I have wanted for a while.
I have downloaded the new Lidl App, and have a £5 off a £25 spend so I am going to venture to a different town to a Lidl to do my shopping today. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.5 -

Well today has not been as structured as I planned. We made a huge rail track across the front room to keep the boys occupied before we went to the stables. DGD came with us and we met the ponies and horses. We must have been there for about an hour as she stroked and then got to brush the horses. She has not looked so happy since we went swimming with the dolphins last year.
I was reluctant to drag her away but I needed to go shopping. Although I used my money off voucher I spent a lot more than I meant as I bought some dressingowns, a dress, a wood burning tool, and some storage boxes. Eek!
I want to change some of the boxes that the toys are in in the front room, as they are on view all the time.
I am just waiting for a date for delivery of my new table, benches and coffee table as it has been time to get rid of my very miss matched and falling apart furniture. Everything I had was secondhand, or even third hand, and so mismatched I have never liked my front room.
I decided that if I wait until the children are grown before I replace I may never have a nice room. So I bit the bullet and ordered matching pieces.I also did mums top up shop so After I put my shopping away I went to my Mums and dug out some fabric from the garage before coming home and actually had a nap. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.4 -
Do you think you maybe have a problem with spending on credit? You bought your cabin which must have cost god knows how much, on credit, recently bought the van, then you bought a new shed, then a new sofa, and now a new table and benches and coffee table. All with being in already quite large debt to begin with, if I remember correctly, and no income apart from the benefits and money for the children you take care of. I just think you may want to think about it a little more? Nobody "needs" a new shed, or even a new coffee table when you can't afford it. Maybe you are spending as a kind of therapy? That's really dangerous, as you know. I don't know what else to say, but I wish you and the children well, really.

I have the money to cover the the things I have bought. I haven't added to my debt. But thank you for the concern. Unfortunately I do have the cabin on a loan, but the business account is covering that, and there is enough in the business account to cover it for the next 12 months even if I didn't earn anything more for that period of time.
yes I have had a lot on the credit cards in the past, usually the things that I bailed my son out on.
although I used the credit card to pay for the van, I immediately moved the Portugal dream fund to pay off the van.
although I am due to do the SOA again this week and will then focus again on applying extra to the cards. ( which are all on the 0%). So are not increasing.
yes I am concerned that I have spent a lot lately, but I am also at home all the time now, and I need the home and garden to work better for the family and me, rather than panicking that the boys will break the glass coffee table, or that the slats on the folding chairs are not safe, so a bench seat would be better.
The flap on the folding table keeps falling off, which is dangerous when the children lean on it, that the little plastic seats they use at the children's table are too small for Dgs1 and he broke one of them, so is having to sit on the step from the kitchen.
like the sofa I just replaced, the damage was repaired more times than I can remember and was only conservatory cane furniture which was not suitable for two climbing jumping little boys.
so I am confident that what I have purchased is a good investment for the comfort and safety of the family.
I will also be directing funds at the garden to make it safer, and the replacement shed for the one that has collapsed is a start.
The patio needs relaying, and I have second hand slabs coming for free, but I will still need the hardcore doing, and Biggest is going to help me when the kids are back in school.
As my hand improves/or I learn to live with it, I will be rebuilding my business and I will need the garden to be sorted for the return of the customers.
I think I have thought things through, and it's not just spending for spending sake.
I can rebuild the savings again once the place is more comfortable and safer.
sometimes my Make Do and Mend is just not going to work.
I did repair the broken kitchen unit.
I did repair two broken sets of drawers in the children's room.I will repair the bedroom furniture in my room that is in need of some TLC.They are very old but they will be used for some time to come.
At the moment DGd is using the van to hang out in, and we are going to swap out her room and the boys room, so they get better space and then we will sort out the small room for her, and when I am ready I will fix the brakes on the van, master cylinder needs changing, and then I will either use it to holiday with the family in the Uk or if I don't like driving it, I will sell it next spring, and invest in a smaller van, or put the funds back in to the Portugal Fund. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.10 -

I see there is a place very near by.Could DGD get some time with horses through the Equine Therapy program?
so I will contact them and see what I can find out.
Thankyou so very much for the suggestion. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.8
