although there was an hours worth of traffic jams.I have done very little except unpack and watch tv this afternoon. I am just to tired.
The boys seem to be worse at bedtime these days and the 2 year old is the ring leader in messing about, cheeking back, and wearing me out.
tomorrow is another day and I hope that I will be able to have enough umph to start to tackle my jobs. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.3 -
I have been reading these threads for years but not commented. Something that jumps out at me now is that the boys are having constant change in their daily routine. Trips out, holidays, different family members being around etc. It also seems as though they are more unsettled after one of these occasions. I understand that SS and DGD want / need to have some sort of "normal" life, but while trying to settle the boys would it not be better to give them a more stable routine?

After months of lockdown?
They and I also need some experiences.
if the routines are so ridged it would also be a problem when it comes a time that something is different.
I do try to keep some consistency, bedtimes, breakfast, lunch. I took their things including their own plates cutlery, cushions etc.
along with toys.
Monday, Tuesday's we are usually at home.
Wednesday and Friday they have holiday club.
Thursday we are home.
once a week we have recently started them stopping with Dad.
approx 1 a week they are supposed to see their Mum.
its not as if they are in and out of daily routines within these things.
yes having a holiday is different, and seeing other members of the family is not always regular but heavens we all need a life.
They enjoyed the holiday, understood that we were going to go, how many sleeps, what we were going to do.They were very good really, considering their needs.
it was lovely to see them engaging and playing with other children. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.8 -
Yesterday was a day at home, catching up on the washing. Playing etc
we didn't venture out.
I was tired as I hadn't slept well, so I just did what was necessary.
This morning I even got a slight lie in. Dgs2 woke at 5.15 but as it was still dark he went back to sleep with a bottle of squash. He is beginning to change from milk. So it was 7 before he came wandering into the bedroom looking for me.
I misplaced the car key, so we were late for holiday club, we had to walk and of course the heavens opened. So by the time I got home I was soaked through.
i have had several phone calls etc and then a lot of searching to find my key.
Dgd has her first appointment with Time to Talk today. So let's hope that we can help her moving forward.
I am looking for a bit of Optimism this morning.
I don't like the dull days they make me want to hibernate but I have a lot of things to start to tackle again now we are back home and while the boys are out of the house for a few hours.
I have a wedding dress to alter first, so I will be going out to the cabin in a minute.Push past the loitering in the house mode! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.4 -
I'm sorry that you got a soaking this morning Savvy, we have had heavy rain here too today. I hope you managed to have a productive day anyway. It's not difficult!

so I got the wedding dress done, at the same time as a lady from Family services came to continue asking questions. I said that I hoped she didn't mind coming into the cabin while I worked. She thought it was a great space.I explained that I felt comfortable out there, and instantly relaxed. I must make the effort to go out there in the evening when the boys are in bed.
find my creative streaks again.
it was a mad dash to the next town for DGDs time 2talk appointment. A hope and a skip from that to the coop to buy a few bits my Mum wanted, drop them off for her and go to collect the boys from DS.
The boys have been on the gadgets this evening for a while DGs1 took the kindle upstairs so I had some relative peace before dinner. Dgs2 stayed down here and has been as quiet as a mouse and no bother. I just did the tin of beans with sausages in and toast, as they haven't been eating the evening meals much. DGD and I had a late lunch from the coop as we hadnt had it before her session.I have made the bacon and cheese puff pastry parcels and cooked them while sitting here writing in my diary.
No TV, no conflicting children, just the washing machine going around, and the sound of the street outside.
I might eat a pastry in a minute though as the smell is wafting in.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.4 -
