I do agree that sugar, colourings etc are likely to play a very small part in GS's problems - although it would be lovely if it were so easily 'fixed'.

Savvy, I'm sorry that your hand is so painful again :(
    It's not difficult!

Has your GP referred your grandson to children's mental health services?
No. The school is the first port of call and their assessments.
    The Social too.
We have to remember that there are trauma and attachment issues, and probably issues from Mums drug abuse that heaven knows what damage that could hold.

When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Are the other family giving the children orange squash do you think?
I really don't think orange squash is causing this child's serious issues.

The link between diet and behaviour gets very overhyped anyway, the 'sugar makes kids hyper' myth has been comprehensively debunked:  https://www.livescience.com/55754-does-sugar-make-kids-hyper.html
No the issues are much more deeply seated.

Dgs1 didn't have the best of days at school, with aggressive behaviour towards his teacher, and he was just about controlled. I think he would have been sent home if he was wasn't only in in the morning.

Dgs2 slept for quite a long time this morning.
I have chased up some glasses ordered in line, and cancelled in the end.
booked the car for service and MOT next week.
called the passport office about their passports.
And put some tile stickers on the kitchen wall.
Then mostly I have been reading.

Absolutely!  That's exactly why I'd suggest talking to the GP about mental health services.  Especially after hearing about the little one hitting his own head when he can't cope with a situation.  I don't think you can wait for school.

The social are supposed to be sorting out the referrals from last week, the Cahms and time to talk etc. The GP will only have my word for things, so at this stage it really is ticking all the boxes first.
I am trying to read the books I got yesterday and look at things from a different angle as well.

Ok, so there is a mental health referral in process?  Good, if the head hitting behaviour is new definitely let them know in case the urgency of the referral can be increased.

I asked about the orange squash because when my son was 2-4 he was an absolute nightmare when he had some instead of the normally quiet pleasant-to-be-around boy he was normally.  I also thought it made sense to ask, rather than asking you to do something you have already said you have done!
