  • Virgin Atlantic's CEO  made a promise on the BBC yesterday that outstanding refunds, and there must be hundreds of thousands,  would be paid by the end of October. I am assuming he means this year but he wasn't specific

My Virgin flight to Cuba got cancelled in Aug - at the time, they said there was a backlog for processing cancellations, but it's getting shorter and I should get it by October... I'm happy waiting to be honest - nowt else to spend the money on at the moment (and if it helps to keep Virgin afloat, I stand more chance of taking my Christmas flights with them lol)

My Vegas flights ( was due to be there this week ) were refunded with no fuss by American Airlines, got the cash back to credit card within a week, great service.
Hotel and a strip helicopter flight were booked with Virgin Holidays - to be honest i thought i might have grief getting refund as the hotel is open ( Paris ) Fair play to Virgin they emailed to me say my "holiday" was cancelled, i filled in the online refund form on August 18th, and they were quoting 80 days to wait for cash,i will give them that time, then start S75 etc if necessary, although same as Stuie, my C/C is Virgin Atlantic.

From what i have been reading on Trip Advisor Vegas forum, there is a much rougher crowd there these days......

Apparently so (but it would not put me off returning) to the extent that Wynn/Encore had a massive fight - and they are taking legal action against them.
It would appear they have also increased their room rate to keep the 'riff-raff' away LOL.
  • I think the rough crowd is a temporary thing, largely due to:
    • super cheap room rates in many properties
    • friction between normal people and 'non-maskers'
    • fully-abled people hiring mobility scooters and driving around like they own the place and upsetting people
    • and probably 'new' visitors not being able to cope with drinking in the street
I wouldn't want to go back there any time soon, not for the above reasons but because so much is going to be limited/restricted that it's just not going to be much fun :(

So a bit like Benidorm the first and only time we have been :'(:'(
  • Looks like last night was a bit rough on the strip. They drop room rates and the rubbish turns up .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVo2FR3M4Kk

Still waiting for my Virgin Atlantic refund via ebookers... but had a small result, as emailed ebookers yesterday for an update (hadn't heard from them for 2 months, despite them saying they'd send an update after 1 month). I was polite but firm, completely understanding that they are really the middle man. To their credit, they replied within 24 hours and gave me a £100 coupon to use against a booking made by 31 October 2021, by way of apologising for the inconvenience.
