If you go via a savers / home bargains they do bags of Epsom salts quite cheap (some have the lavender ones too) you could just do a foot/hand soak before bed which would help - or if you have a bath lob some In that 😀Sealed pot challenge 822

Sending you bathroom love !Were you surprised at how much you could recycle and not 'dump'? I think they need to be renamed recycling centres rather than the tip or the rubbish dump. Around 80% of stuff taken to our nearest one is recycled - they put up a sign every month and I have never seen it below 78%. Luckily it is on the way to Mr M's shopping emporium, so I can combine a trip. I love going there, DH hates it, so only I go ( he gets his feminist knickers in a knot because I get ' Let me help you with that darlin' from the men who work there, or sometimes other men unloading cars, and I just let them. I make their day! They feel like big strong men, I smile and say thank you. win/win). The 2 youngest had a marvelous time lobbing bricks into the rubble skip when I opened up the chimney hole. They would have stayed there all day.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Morning all
I do not want to be up this early at all - I feel so tired this morning. And it's STILL grey and miserable outside. I haven't had a good sleep but was informed that the bathroom fitters would be arriving between 8-10am so I thought I'd better get on, get dressed and make a start on the day. I've written my important questions down which include finding out the maximum times that we will be without water, a toilet and electricity (and therefore WiFi much to the kids disgust - although both have something like triple the amount of data on their phones than I have on mine). I've cleaned the kitchen so the fitters can make their own socially distanced cuppas, and the bathroom is empty apart from the very basics for toilet and handwashing.
I haven't slept well and I'm tired. Been awake since half five this morning and now feel like going back to sleep but just can't for the minute, so I've done some school work. Very early indeed. I have a meeting at 9 and another at 2 so hoping that I will still have WiFi by then so I can at least get something done. However, I too have data on my phone that I can use if need be, and my hair is already done and I'm dressed
Just thinking that I didn't check in yesterday... we're still going strong here with one job in the house alternating with one episode of a box set (not sure if I've already said but watching Lost with dd and Killing Eve on my own). I had a minor washing machine disaster yesterday though. There's something stuck in the drum. I had to use the drier the other day due to the fact that it hadn't stopped raining for 3 days and my house was full of wet washing. Took the dry bedding out of it (washer drier) and couldn't find the little smelly block I'd put in to make the clean stuff smell nice. Assumed it was trapped in the quilt cover as tends to happen but based on the noise the machine made the next time it hit the spin cycle I rapidly reassessed that it had fallen in the gap and into the drum (sounded like a squeaky chamois on a window). Armed with a couple of YooToob videos, a screwdriver, an unwrapped wire coathanger and some old towels off I went. And completed everything successfully except finding the blimming smelly block from the drying. I found a load of fluff and gunk which I cleared out and (touch wood) I seem to have successfully reattached the hoses as well but I was over an hour poking about with the coathanger with no success. Anyway. I had to trial whether it was working with my old towels and seem to have successfully washed and dried them without flooding the kitchen or starting a fire - and I didn't hear the noise on the spin cycle this time. So we'll see how we get on. If all else fails it is insured but I didn't want to have to get into the hassle of another person in my house when it's not really necessary. Other than that though, me and dd cleared the bathroom and hoovered right through the house, as well as prepping food for a couple of days so we can minimise time in the kitchen. Plus all three of us had a shower (because who knows what is going to be happening next and when we might be able to wash our hair).
Today's plans are a bit dependent on the work in the house but include - school work for all three of us, getting out for a couple of essentials (bread and milk but I am also considering adding chocolate peanuts to this list), getting my latest blanket finished (1.5 rounds left to do but it's a big old blanket) and making sure that ds leaves the house for one reason or another. I'm so fed up with the weather being so grey now though - it's awful for the general mood. Also need to sort out a birthday present for my dad - I hate that his birthday and Father's Day are so close together because he's so awful to buy for. I may need to nap - but I am genuinely hoping that once little intros are done with the fitters I can close them out and leave them to it. The sofa is comfy for a little snooze.
Liz - I did read JK Rowling's essay - still not in agreement with her personally, and I have shared many of her life experiences myself. Thank you so much for your kind words about my writing - I just write down the stuff that's in my head, and it's actually quite therapeutic for me. Creativity and writing certainly isn't something I consider myself skilled at and I'm surprised, but really pleased that people read along and comment.
Foxholes - DD wants to make the recycling centre run a weekly thing so we can completely declutter the house. I still giggle at the thought of her thinking we were going to be climbing stinking rubbish tips the first time we went - but it is amazingly clean and nice in there. We're not as far ahead as your neck of the woods with recycling but the sign said 60% when we were there, which is better than it going into landfill that's for sure. We already have another 3 bags of stuff ready to go whenever I get round to booking an appointment to go again. Alas with social distancing I am not being offered any help getting rid of stuff, but I genuinely think that would take the enjoyment out of things for me.
Anyway - best get on I think. My eyes are getting very heavy now and I feel like I could sleep again. Bum - I need to stay awake for at least the next 2 hours.

My bathroom is outside the front of my house! I only have a toilet... he even binned my loo roll holder with loo roll and my soap.
However, he has replaced the sub floor - blimming good job too because he put one hand near the hole under the bath and the whole thing gave way underneath because it was so brittle. Thankfully the joists have been checked and are ok. Phew... My fitter (lovely man called Dave) has repaired the floor and is going to put plywood on top of it before the actual flooring goes in. He's also put some extra supports in under the bath to be extra safe. Hopefully that isn't a narrative on my weight.
A couple of electricians turned up and put the light wires in without having to do anything at all with the electric in the rest of the house. They're coming back for the bigger job on Thursday which means no electric for about 3 hours. And some of the local chavs have already been along and pinched the taps from the old bathroom - apparently for scrap.
