I wish I knew what I had to do to get a good night of sleep. Partly my own fault yesterday though as I didn't go out walking for the first time in weeks. It started raining about 2pm and basically hasn't stopped since. Normally no trouble at all for me to walk in the rain but this has been fairly torrential and it's still going. Obviously the cats know it's my fault that they want to go out and play but it's bucketing with rain so they have yowled and fought and aggravated me for most of the afternoon/evening/overnight/this morning. I forced those that go out to go out for a toilet break at 6am and they were back in again at about 6.02.
However, I got a good amount of work done yesterday - and the cupboard of doom is finally sorted. I did think about sorting through some of his stuff to sell, but I haven't done it - I just want rid of it, and now I've made the decision then that's exactly what's happening. I don't know how many bags are in the car but it is full - and dd and I will be off to the tip to get rid this afternoon. Also made a start on the ongoing work frog so I was quite pleased about that as well - there's a way to go but at least I've done something.
Bathroom arrived so the house is doubly messy at the moment with loads of stuff lying around. They didn't ring me back and they just turned up with the stuff. I really hope this isn't how it's going to go though because that will be annoying in a way I cannot be bothered with at the moment. It's meant to be getting done next week but I am not going to hold my breath. Foxgloves - I'm afraid you're wrong - I would never shave with a glass of gin in my hand. You're far more likely to find an arm holding a glass of gin and hairy legsI am pleased that it's getting done at last - I'm just overthinking about the money aspect of it.
It's taken me a while to get going again this morning but I am slowly eating the work frog which might actually be an elephant, and both kids are still in bed so the awful weather must be restful for them at least. DS has a deadline today and has barely done any work so he will be busy this afternoon...

You seem to have made great strides. After the tip run, you will have cleared so much from your house/life never to be burdened by it again. The mess caused by the new bathroom is only temporary until it is fitted and then you will have a swanky new bathroom and a clearer houseFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I have ordered magnesium sleep spray from Amazon that I used a few years ago to help with my lack of sleep. I am hoping a day in the garden will knacker me enough to sleep tonight. Good luck with the work elephant frogNevertheless she persisted.11

Morning
I think I had a good night's sleep last night. I think... because the weather is still grey and raining (I think this is day 4 now) and that always seems to reflect my mood. I did go out for a 40 min walk with dd last night but we stuck to the main paths to avoid getting too muddy or sinking and requiring help somewhere - which would be just my luckAnd on top of the weather I also have ladies hormonal issues so everything feels a bit meh. However I've been doing lots of positive things...
I cannot believe how much I enjoyed going to the tip. There were over 20 bags stuffed in the car, and they're all gone and out of my house, and into recycling and rubbish. It was pittling with rain and dd and I were soaked but we were laughing and giggling the whole time we were throwing bags. It's SO therapeutic, and I came home with renewed determination to sort both mine and dd's bedroom cupboards and even the loft before September comes. I wish I'd known years ago how easy it is just to bag stuff and dump it yourself (as long as it fits in the car).
After that we came home via the golden freezer food emporium for more supplies for the kids so all is well in the world there as well. Had to pop to Aldee for a couple of fresh bits, but the trauma of going to the German supermarkets around here really gets to me. Nobody on the doors any more so it's a bit of a free for all in there. Hopefully we've survived infection free. Today I need to decide what to do with the rest of my veggie box - I have more carrots and celeryI really hate raw celery so may have to make a big soup. Mind you when it feels like November we need nice comforting foods like soups.
Also got a phone call from the bathroom people announcing that the fitting will commence first thing Monday morning. Which is when I hoped, but we'll see if anyone turns up and anything happens. Me and the kids decluttered the bathroom last night and left just the bare essentials in there so that will be easily cleared tomorrow night. I've said we all need to have a good shower tomorrow night because goodness knows when we may get another. It's all moving.
And the work elephant is progressing slowly - I've even done a bit more of it this morning, on a Saturday no less. Might as well while I feel like it.

HI CCL, I love your diary, you may not realise it but you have a great way of writing about your life (and I've read it from very early on). I'm impressed at you getting on so fast with the bathroom - I get analysis paralysis with anything involving tradespeople. I also live vicariously through you and the cats. There is a very pregnant semi feral cat in our communal gardens. I do worry about her as the survival rate for kittens is so low. - I'm starting to tempt her with food.I saw your comment about JK Rowling - have you read her subsequent fuller article that talks about domestic abuse? I agree her response re the 'people who menstruate' was thoughtless and rude but I feel her longer article is well written and sets out her position much better. I stay off Twitter and indeed keep FB to a minimum too - it's not a helpful forum for genuine debate about challenging complex subjects and on-line abuse is never OK whatever the provocation. I just 'snoozed' someone for a month as I was getting sick of some of the snarky sarcastic stuff they were posting in an attempt at humour about Covid. Anyway good luck with the bathroom and hope the disruption is kept to a minimum!16
