Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 4 - The Aftermath

I had an extractor fan when I had my new bathroom fitted. Frankly hated it. It caused a draught all through the house even when not in use, it now has a cover. I've found a humidity meter about £6 & an open window or a dehumidifier a much better answer. Mind you if you have a son like mine you need a dehumidifier that turns off when you get down to the required %, which is around 40-45. We have been down to 17% more than once! What I have found really interesting is that the addition of both the dehumidifier AND a tumble drier have made no difference to my fuel bills. The only conclusion I can make is that the heating is no longer having to combat the damp.

Is CCL STILL in the bathroom? I don't think she is ever coming out now.

I have just spent 90 (yes 90) minutes in the bath reading a good book, having a good wash and making sure my hair no longer smells awful and sticks to my head. I have an amazing bath. I have an amazing bathroom. And a toilet with a slow closing lid. And a massive warm radiator ready for winter. And I didn't fall through the floor, and the bath didn't wobble. The only downer was that I couldn't get either child to bring me a gin in the bath because they thought I was joking. I wasn't. We're not allowed to use the shower until tomorrow because the screen seal is still setting but I guarantee that tomorrow I will be trying both the massive overhead shower and the little handheld one just because I can.
The kids are annoyed because I wouldn't let either of them go in the bath until I had been in. I have to have some joy in life... The only thing left to do is to fit the mirror, and we didn't have the right one to fit today so that will have to be done at a later date. Dave has done an amazing job and I am very impressed with him, and the electricians who changed my fuse box and fitted the lights were also lovely. They entertained ds while he couldn't get on his Exbox this morning and I'm now hoping he might fancy a career as an electrician in the future. That is a skill definitely worth having, and that I would definitely use in the future.
So as lovely as it is - I need to get on and start paying things down. I have paid £175 to the cc today and that's as much as I can manage between now and payday. It's going to be a bit of a tight squeeze to get there but my debt mountain is quite motivating (and not really in a good way if I'm honest).
Other than that I haven't done loads today and it now feels like a Friday because everything that has gone on all week is now over. Still another day of work tomorrow - good job because I'm not really getting caught up either... We were without electricity for a few hours this morning and then I never managed to get going with work. I did 3 hours but then just stopped to marvel at the new bathroom, and have a bit of a moan at a few people on the phone about a few things, and talk to my fitters and workmen. Now I have a really bad headache though and I'm not sure why. It may be dehydration from avoiding having to go to the toilet so drinking less, or I may just be shattered and have been running on adrenalin all week and now it's gone. Who knows.
But I am now clean, my bathroom is amazing, dd and I hoovered right through the house and then me and ds changed the beds as well so that the rest of the house feels clean - although it now looks like a run down shack compared to the bathroom.
Did I mention that I love my new bathroom???

I am so happy for you. You deserve your new bathroom,Is there anything more needed than a splash of paint on the walls and a new carpet in the bedrooms? Which is all you need for a quick tart up. Nothing like the cost in time and money of a bathroom. So you chill out and relax. It is probably just a stress-let-down headache. The big upstairs job is done. Only 3 weeks til term ends.Enjoy your big overhead shower in the morning.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

90 minutes in the bath, eh? Did you have the hot water tap on to keep the temperature topped up? Just how wrinkly were you at the end...?
