Great excitement in the CCL house with your new bathroom 😀😀. If the floor was rotting then that definitely needed doing so don't feel bad about the loan. It was not for frivolous spending and you can say it was taken out for something specific. Just imagine if you had not had it done the bathroom could have fallen through into the room below maybe even injuring yourself or your DC and definitely causing more damage.

Having moved in to a house with a 70s bathroom (and not in the 70s 😂) I remember that sense of using the new one. It felt so clean and shiny. The old one just never felt like that. So enjoy it. A long bath is so relaxing and it will do you good to have a fair few more - although you need to sort the gin service out before the next one! Also a really good time to listen to audio books, relaxing music etc which should also help you relax. If you’re on IG look up bathboards ltd (or just on the web) treat yourself to one of those - then you won’t even have to hold your gin!11

Good morning!
Apologies for not checking in yesterday. Would love to say I had an all day bath but the truth is that I just felt a bit 'meh'. I think that the actual replacement of the bathroom was a bit more stressful than I thought and the reality of having to find more debt payments got to me a bit. I went into anxiety mode and spent a lot of time allowing myself to worry about absolutely everything, whether it was worth worrying about or not. On top of that I've had a headache for the past 3 days just niggling in the background that I can't seem to do anything with. I'm quite annoyed with myself that my mood has dipped at such a happy (new bathroom) time but I can't help the way that I'm feeling at the moment so I just need to go with it - eat well, sleep as well as I can and hope that it passes soon.
However, I can confirm that both my bath and my shower are pretty amazing and I'm very happy with them. Still a couple of little things to do (like find someone to fit a new door for me and get the mirror on the wall), but it's all good, and warm, and clean, and most importantly it is safe as well.
Apart from money, which is a constant worry, the other worry that spirals out of control is my weight. I spend so much time being a people pleaser that I do two self sabotaging things to make myself feel better which are both very short term fixes, but cause a lot of pain longer term. 1. I spend money, and 2. I eat lots of comfort food. Very temporary high that leads to a lot of self loathing and general panic in life. Today I'm up and hoping that I can find motivation to address both of these issues. I was out spending money yesterday - not particularly frivolously but spending nonetheless. DD and I walked into our local town centre and went to the freezer shop for golden food for the kids again, but I also 'treated' myself to a ready made curry for £1 (I like these when I feel I need a bit of a takeaway and they are way cheaper than a Chinese takeaway). Also went to our local patisserie to pick up a treat box that I had ordered for my dad for Father's Day today - he is a tough man to please and worse than it being Father's Day today it's also his birthday next week. He has no hobbies apart from going to the pub and does nothing. What do you do for a man like that? He's in the middle of decorating his house at the minute so I'm thinking I might get him a DIY store gift card or something. Took the longer walk into and out of town with dd so that we could get the daily exercise in and a bit of daylight and fresh air. Later in the day I had booked a click and collect from Mr S for the 'real' food so we turned up and miraculously had no subs on the order (that's what happens when I order food that nobody else wants) but I wanted to pop into the shop anyway because I had decided to try decongestant for the nagging headache - sometimes when my various painkillers don't work a Sudafed will do the job in about half an hour. Unfortunately it keeps you awake for ages so I couldn't have one last night but I've taken one this morning and so far so good. I also needed to pop into the catalogue shop now situated inside Mr S to replace my toaster for the second time. I don't know what I'm doing wrong - I bought a branded 4 slice toaster half price in the January sales. By the beginning of March only half of it would keep the bread items down and actually toast them. So I took it back and exchanged it. Only for this next one to do exactly the same thing - after about 6 weeks, half of the toaster stopped holding the bread down. I did a google this time that suggested the sensor may need cleaning, so I had a good try at doing that but it didn't work - so I've exchanged it again. Next time if it happens I will try an alternative toaster. Strange that I replaced my £5.99 basics toaster with a posh thing that doesn't seem to do the job half as well...
Went to bed and was asleep by 11 last night - up for a while at half four then up for the day at half eight. I still had the headache but the Sudafed seems to have cleared it so far so fingers crossed. I also worked on school stuff all morning yesterday so that I could have the day off from that today - successfully. So today's plans involve popping to my dad's with his card and food goodies, popping to my mam's to give stepdad his card from the kids, watching tv with dd and carrying on with some crochet. I've also gotten out of the habit of an episode of something I want to watch followed by a bit of work so I need to make a list of small jobs that will make me feel as though I'm being productive in between relaxing. I have also booked another appointment for the tip! I never thought that would be so enjoyable - it's 10 days away which gives me and dd lots of time to do more decluttering and fill the car up again (onto the annoying jobs list).
Time for another cuppa first though eh?

Morning CCL, I'm just catching up with your happenings. Congratulations on your new bathroom, it sounds amazing and done so quickly! That gives me hope that when I eventually get a new bathroom I won't be without it too long. And I totally get the enjoyment of going to the tip....it is very therapeutic. I love going, it gives me a proper boost. The tip where I used to live was new and so organised, there was a ramp to drive up to where the main bits were and plenty of parking, it was a pleasure to use. I used to joke to my friend that if they had a cafe overlooking it all, I would go and just watch people getting rid of their rubbish

I had to resort to buying DH's aunt a W-Spoons voucher for Xmas. It is where they meet up with their friends when they go out and usually have a meal there too. I thought it was a rubbish present but they said they really enjoyed it. Maybe if his local is doing gift vouchers for when they re-open?

Good morning everyone.
I am at work today - it's not school as I know it. I have five year ten students sitting in front of me at a social distance and working in silence through their work booklets that have been made and have the answer in the back. I'm not allowed to get too close to them and they are not allowed to get too close to me or each other. It feels like my 1 hour a week in the exclusion room, except this is 2 hours and not supposed to be a punishment. I've tried to start conversations a couple of times but nobody is interested in talking. Poor Year 10 - this is not how school should be for anyone. I really hope that things can become more normal very soon because I'm missing doing my proper job - this definitely isn't what I signed up for.
Went out for a fairly decent 45 minute walk with dd last night, followed by a long soak in my amazing, massive bath and I slept lots better so that will also be the plan for today as well at some point. I did a full, and I mean full, day of school work yesterday - from 8 until 5 with just a couple of 10 minute breaks here and there to do things like folding washing, washing dishes etc. I think that'll be it for the week mostly after I'm done here today - it's also virtual sports week so we are supposed to be joining in with that from home but if my PE department think that I'm getting involved with their Burpee challenge then they have another think coming. After I finish at work I'm going to my friend's house for a socially distant coffee in her garden and then home to get on and nag my kids to do something. DD is doing brilliantly as always but DS needs a kick up the bum as always - his project this week is on Darwin which is allegedly part of my area of expertise so we have no excuse for him not to be working because I can actually talk to him about this stuff...
Other than that I need to find my home mojo a little. I need to do something with the plants I have now that the weather has cleared up a bit - very surprisingly for me most of the little plants seem to have survived. One of the tomato plants has flowers on it and my cucumbers look big. Alas, my courgette, which was meant to be the easy thing to grow, has died- I went into the garden just in time to see one of the cats chewing its last leaf off. I had no idea cats were into courgettes in any way but there is just a bit of stem there now and I don't think that's going to amount to anything if I'm honest
Might try and get out there this afternoon and move some of them into bigger pots. It's not that sunny but it's really warm so will be nice to be outside for a bit after the torrential rain of the past couple of weeks. I also made a start on a new annoying jobs list which I'll be working my way through - unfortunately dd and I have finished watching Lost and at the moment we can't agree on a new box set to watch together which puts the 'One episode then work' plan out of the window a bit.
