Well I am sure if B+Q were major Brexit supporters, then every school in the country would have had their own large home office / summer house structures as pop-up classrooms delivered to the school field / playground in the first week of lockdown so classes could be 10 or less, and retired teachers or ex-teachers would have been recruited to fill the gap for the national good.Funny that innit? I can't remember them asking for ex-teachers to come and help out.Because they had no intention of letting kids going back until September. Muddle along until Summer term ends and no doubt magically grandparents will be allowed to see their family members, just in time for babysitting duties while the parents can go back to work. If their work is still there.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well my goodness me... I am allowed to form a support bubble with another household. One of the benefits of being the sole adult in the house. So now all I need to do is find another household that wants me and my kids as part of their bubble. I feel like there should be a long and complicated application process whereby I interview a string of handsome and successful, normal men who are financially secure. However, the reality is that I don't think I will be inundated with offers in any way
I want to see my mam, but my stepdad is shielding - and I want to see my bestie but her husband is shielding. Meh. Best ring my dad and let him know so that he can attach himself to one of his drinking buddies...

I heard that piece of news with amazement and for a couple of minutes thought it was wonderful, as I could form a support bubble with my parents but then remembered that their age puts them at risk and me being back at school on normal hours would increase the risk. Good news though, if you can have a support bubble to link to.

A new bathroom! That's exciting
But I agree with everyone else, it's an investment in your home and I have absolute no doubt you will pay it off as soon as you can. But in the meantime you get to use it and enjoy it. I'm probably going to get loan for a kitchen and bathroom as they are needed, I'd never save it the money up beforehand but I want to live in a nice place now.
I did laugh at your bubble post above. My phone hasn't rung yet either with friends or family inviting me into their bubbleLBM in 2015 - £7000 in debt 2020 - CC - £18 outstanding

Morning...
Not feeling the love today at all. Had a good long walk with dd last night and was shattered and got into bed hopeful for a good night of sleep, only to find out that the cats had planned an overnight party between them. The ginger ninja was up and down stairs at full speed, yowling, while my little black lady was yelling at all of the other cats, and my big black lady was trying to play with a cotton bud. Oh. Needless to say I look and feel even worse than I did yesterday - but worse than that I am even further behind with my school work and still not feeling like getting anything done.
Up for the day at 7.30 so I could get the car into the garage (again). Thankfully another warranty repair as the other windscreen washer decided to pack up (much to my complete disgust). I saw some stuff on the news about JK Rowling. I'm not a massive fan of political speak and stirring up trouble, but I'm a fan of human rights, and being friends with a trans woman I felt obliged to state my opinion on Fakeb00k as it differs to hers. I appear to have stirred up a bit of a hornets nest on there. I still feel strongly about what I said but people I thought would understand it don't seem to. Ah well - I know how privileged I am to have the option of ignoring it if I want to.
Anyway... surprisingly enough I have not been inundated with offers to form a support bubble with anyone so life continues as normal for now. I am still not motivated for work, and then I got a phone call at 8.45 asking if they could deliver the bathroom this morning - just 2 days late then? I'm waiting for them to call me back again to arrange delivery this afternoon. I hope that the rest of the day improves... I'm grumpy because I haven't slept well again, the muck up with the bathroom continues, I've caused controversy on FB, and it's cold and miserable here again and my stupid ankle is sore. However, I have gotten the car repaired far less stressfully than last time, and at no cost to me, and hopefully the delivery will happen this afternoon.
Today's frog is to finally clear the rest of the stuff out of my bedroom cupboard. My appointment at the tip is tomorrow and I need to get rid of the rest of ex's stuff. And I have another work frog as well that has sat for 3 days... should really get on then.

Just a thought CCL is there anything in the clutter you can sell on Ebay or FB or send to a local homeless charity?
With you on the sleep front.. think it's quite cold atm which doesn`t help Lady Sleep.
I'm not eligible for the buddy bubble but how on earth do you choose between two family members in different households?
I wouldn't fret about FB....it's good to make a stand and say what you mean!
Are the cats on the naughty step today!
I was amused to see someone offering re rubbished furniture. And in capitals too....one of my many no no's!
I do hope Ex does see your advert dumping his stuff...is that wicked of me!11 -
Must be something around today cat I’m in a grump too and am heavily trying to avoid getting in a spat with someone on another thread we’re both on but felt like I had to correct their (incorrect) sweeping statement only for them to disagree again as it’s said so on the news’ at least someone else has also corrected them so maybe they’ll listen now. I was already in a grump about the New ‘bubble’ situation - although it goes without saying pleased for people such as yourselves who can now get some contact with another adult but just annoyed at it on the other hand. But I shan’t rant on your diary anymore about the reasons for that. Hope the bathroom has turned up and you’ve ransacked that cupboard within an inch of its life!

CCL - I am so pleased to hear you are finally doing something about your bathroom. I honestly had visions of you going in there for a shower, somebody going in to ask you why there isn't any breaded chicken & there's just two arms sticking out of a heap of rubble, one clutching a ladyshave, the other a large gin! There is a limit to how long you can carry on patching up bathrooms. Yes, you have borrowed more money. It isn't what you wanted. It isn't your fault you were hit with the twin whammies of legal bills & then vet bills. Just keep surely & steadily paying everything down and keep treats (which we do all need now & again for morale) at a small, sensible level. You're not going out much......I mean in terms of eating out, leisure activities which require entry fees, tickets, etc, & probably not using as much petrol as usual? I know grocery shopping is still a bit odd now & again, but there are some savings to be made at the moment from other stuff, & if you are anything like us, you'll be doing your own 'easing of lockdown' & doing what feels safe to you, rather than following Johnson's chaos. Do whatever it takes. If colouring in squares for every £50 or £100 chunk of debt paid off helps with motivation, then do that. If it is beads or marbles in a jar, each representing £50 & you move them gradually to a 2nd crazily decorated 'Debt-be-gone' jar as you pay it down, then so be it......anything which keeps you motivated to get rid of it. You are doing it for yourself & your children now, nobody else, for a stronger financial future.
But that bathroom? I think we will all be out on our doorsteps clapping on the first night we hear you have actually had a shower without another chunk of old bathroom flaking off!
