    Weekend check in

Sat - spendy day - Food shop lidlee with voucher £48 as my cupboards were bare. Also had lunch out in a country pub, nice treat. £14. Also Amazon spend £15 pictures for kitchen.

Sunday - NSD. Bit of a rubbish day, cleaned offices and helped out lunch for homeless, made me very upset to see difference in young lad in 2 weeks, he was doing so well. Suppose I can not solve their problems but its nice to know I can make a difference even if its small.

I need to book a train journey today so may be spendy day but hey ho its cheaper with a senior railcard. Just need to decide how many nights I want to stay in Edinburgh in April.

NSD 12/16 I could do this

Think January blues are getting to me. Craving chocolate and cakes. Just don't want to do anything.

    Grateful for.

Sorry am not caught up on reading. Hope everybody is well. Am not feeling so MSE at the moment, mostly because I am catching up with a lot of planned expenses which seems a bit indulgent, but also useful - like a bike helmet.

Am currently grateful for NHS GP who saw me for a long mental health chat this morning, lovely friends and youtube fitness videos for core exercise - still hurt after Saturday.

Am adding NSD yesterday and today to my lost total.

    Afternoon Turtles!
Today will be NSD 14 by necessity. £5 in the budget until Thursday night - payday is Friday. 3 of the DS's are coughing, DH is coughing and feeling dizzy, good job I stocked up on meds last week, even the infant cough mixture as it was down to 75p and it still works on 15 year olds. All food will be from stores, again out of necessity. So, all menus planned, 3 cakes baked, snacks can be slices of cake and hot choc/ warm milk. I made one vanilla, one gingerbread and one apple and cinnamon. I will probably end up making a chocolate one as well tomorrow due to the excess of chocolate ice cream in the freezer and then I could do them death by chocolate sundaes, be voted Mum of the Year (for 20 minutes) and all the woodland animals will come and sing to me.

Had a conversation with a lady this morning about loud Sexy Foxes - she started it, not me. January is peak mating season (who knew??).

Gratitudes: I have the skills to cook and bake which saves me a flippin' fortune every week - I am not ill - I like myself and am not a grumpy curmudgeonly old bat (yet)

Afternoon all! NSD 14 today. Everything has been a bit hectic with money going out on smaller things, but still irritating.

Today I am thankful for the high weight capacity of Little Turtle's pram for shopping, a belated Christmas party and SWMBO starting to meal plan.

Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)

Today I am grateful for waking up quite early without my alarm clock, for getting some emails written, for getting outside, for good reading material, for dd being much improved, for good coffee, for hot water.

Up early (ish) to wait for food delivery. Left Beloved packing it away (DS3 was moaning about my laptop 'beeping') and went back upstairs.

At mum's I made her an appointment to see the district nurses on Thursday, discussed travel arrangements for our holiday, updated the diary and calendar, checked her pills and current dosages then dragged out the file box and discarded everything no longer needed (3 trips to the bin).

Very tired, I am still fighting to keep the bug from returning. Scrubbed all the roasting dishe and trays.

Today I am grateful for easy food, yummy toast (golden and melt in the mouth) and for tackling the paperwork monster (still some here to do).

I can do February if no-one else wants to but I may disappear part way through if the laptop fails (struggled to get a signal for more than 5 minutes last night).

Thanks mothernerd, but do you want to wait for march? I have some feb ideas (all handily starting with an F) although they'd still work in march, but not roll off the tongue quite so well!

Are you getting a new laptop? Or can ds3 fix the problem?
