NST January 2020: A Turtle Quest

:jI have a fully functioning plumbing and drainage system:j:j:j. Have just had a shower and will set the dishwasher and washer going later. Finally bit the bullet and trawled through the firms trying to get one that was local. They gave me the price up front and took my card details.
It was two problems not one and it was truly disgusting - I would never have fixed it in a hundred years. Cost £131 altogether plus the £47 I've already spent on bits of kit and a small fortune in various unclogging materials. I've just had a sit on the stool shower (the other two are going to have baths) and I feel wonderful.
Just need to count all my piles of pennies later and then spend the rest of the year saving. Also plan for buying a new grid and sand and cement to put it back together.
Today I am grateful for working plumbing, for more puppy picturesMy mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Hope you are ok MediumDino, ouch!
Mothernerd, thank goodness you have got your drain issue sorted out :T
NSD 6 for me today, I thought about going shopping but the wind and rain put me off! I will need to go tomorrow though, and will also do my regular food bank donation0 -
At least 5th NSD day today.
Cheekily cooked a risotto instead of going club running this evening as 'too windy' to run!
Grateful that at least the birds thinks it's spring, even when it's still dark at 7 in the morning, have nice colleagues at work anf for car share, have done no driving today.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Today has been NSD 7/16. It's been a lovely day today, without too much hassle. Everything went well at work and I got home on time to have some lovely family quality time.
Today I'm thankful for:
1) My pressure cooker
2) Simple meals
3) A lovely cup of tea.Mortgage free by 33 - (21/07/22 - 32 years and a bit...)
Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)0 -
Thanks, I still feel a bit battered, but unfortunately have to go to work.
Yesterday I was grateful for the Brownies enthousiasm, the sudden sun after a very stormy morning and finding a way to walk that was not too uncomfortable.
Today won't be a NSD unfortunately, because we desperately need to get some food in.NST January Turtles number 250 -
MediumDino. Ouch poor you, sounded nasty fall.
Mothernerd - glad you have your drains sorted, I got a plumber before xmas to re route drainage pipe as water was backing up into my washing machine - not cheap but worth it. My clothes are clean now:D
Abundant - Yes still here and comfort eating not from the bailed date. Bad weather and boredom more like. He wasn't getting invited back for coffee anyway but I did clean over weekend. Ready for the next victim. Are you re scheduling with your date?
A NSD for me todayn. NSDs stands at 7/16 then.:T
£350 off my debts today:T
I need to exercise but not paying for gym membership. May have toa wet walk later on as my back was hurting last night in bed with no exercise.
Grateful for
Pilchards - found in desk, ace lunch on toast.
Big gales don't appear to be arriving now.

Hope ill people, bumped and bruised people and those who have had dates cancelled are feeling better today.
Yesterday I bulk ordered loo roll from Who Gives a C**p. First time trying it so I am hoping it will work out well. Made a sweet potato and spinach curry for tea today and was going to go for a run but it is pouring down now.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Turtle 27 reporting in, trying to cheat the system of NSD’s again!
Apple... yesterday I claimed an NSD however, I had news that a family member is unwell and so I had to book travel to visit them this week. Now, I do keep a “rainy day” pot of £40 aside each month for such emergencies. So technically that £9 ticket was budgeted? And it’s travel? And medical?????
Anyway depending on if I can bend the rules to suit me, today is an NSD either 6 or 7. £12 business expenses at the p off for bay of e parcels.
Tomorrow is actually my pay day and I am ending the pay month much better than I could have imagined. Achieved much more savings than I would have done and reduced waste, packaging and done some good deeds in the process.
Today I am glad for- a roof over my head, my health, the NHS
Hope everyone else is feeling positive and not in the wars!

EF has survived
I have survived the week so far - didn't go running yesterday though, can't face the wind.
Not really doing well on any challenges - but am trying to just not really spend any money. Big spend was £3 today for a swimming hat for my training tonight.
Keep up the good mood everybody.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

dolly I've recently started ordering from them, my only problem is I have to find places to stash all the toilet rolls! There's so many of them! :rotfl: it's a good idea though and I feel like I'll never run out I have so many lol.
NSD here so up to 8/18. Also got an expenses reimbursement of £50 and my claim for my massage was accepted so will have £25 of that reimbursed soon. Happy days! Definitely glad I got this cash plan as it's well on its way to paying for itself already, I wasn't 100% sure at first but as long as my back is an issue it's worth having. Although would prefer to have no back pain as an alternative! Working late tonight and even later tomorrow, but did manage to get to the gym this morning. Will have tomorrow off the gym as I tend to go too hard and not give myself rest days, will probably go for a walk or something in the morning before work if this wind and rain ever stops!0
